Warmness On The Soul.

Two.

“When we get back into the states I want to wait to get Kara. Have the Berry’s keep watching her and keep her safe, I need to find out what’s going on.”

“What’re you thinking right now?” Jimmy asked eyeing me.

“I need to talk to her first; I need to see her for myself. The Berry’s could be mistaken or might’ve seen someone else.” I answered quietly.

“Matt, you know the Berry’s they just act stupid. It’s Kara, and she’s pregnant.”

I frowned at the word, mentally counting the days since that one night. “Bri-”

“Don’t Brian me Matt; we all know what you two did that one night. It makes perfect timing; come on Kara isn’t the type of girl to move on like that. Why’re you acting so weird over this?”

“Weird? Brian the girl I fucking love is pregnant and I haven’t been there to help her out with shit. I feel like crap and I’m nervous and fucking sweating like a pig.” I growled. “Not to mention I’ve got fucking hours before we’re in the states. And then we have to make sure everything is safe before I even try to see Kara.”

“Dude… you’re going to be a dad.”

I groaned. “Thank you Captain Obvious.”

**Kara**

I let out a frustrated cry into my pillow; I had been trying to get some rest for almost two hours with no luck. I just wanted to sleep, yet I couldn’t manage to get comfortable. I shouldn’t have problems sleeping since I wasn’t that far along yet. However no matter how I laid or what I put under my back I couldn’t sleep. Then again I had been having some problems with sleeping without Matt. I guess somehow even the baby wanted him here.

If only I could’ve caught up to the Berry’s earlier.

I sighed and sat up, rubbing the base of my spine slowly. After a few moments of just sitting in silence I managed to get myself up and out of bed. Waddling my way down my hall I ventured into my small kitchen, making a mental note to clean up a bit in the morning. But for now I opened up my freezer, pulling out a tub of ice cream, before grabbing a spoon and waddling over to my little sofa. Using my big toe I pressed the on button on the TV as I got comfortable.

If I couldn’t sleep, I could at least eat and watch some TV. I let out a small moan of pleasure when I put the first spoonful of strawberry ice cream into my mouth. Food tasted ten times better to me since the cravings started to kick in. Luckily I hadn’t had any unusual ones yet, but I knew they’d be coming any day now.

My attention was turned away from my ice cream when a familiar picture flashed up onto the TV screen. I quickly leaned over and turned up the volume, staring at the picture of Jenny on the TV.

“-Moore has been missing since the night her step-sister was returned home. There is no evidence as to if the same men that kidnapped her step-sister took her also. As for the group of men, despite help from Kara Moore efforts to find them have failed. And cops are officially calling off the search for them as of now. Yet if anyone has any tips or clues about their where abouts or Ms. Moore’s please contact the police.”

A few more pictures of Jenny flashed up, along with some of me and then Karen. The news reporter was still going on about something but all I could hear was her previous words ringing in my head. They had called of the search. It was safe for the guys to come home now. Surely the Berry’s had to know this; surely they were going to tell them. A sudden spark of hope lit in my stomach. If the guys came back soon it gave me the chance to explain all of this to Matt.

I couldn’t help but smile, I was going to get the chance to tell Matt he’d be a Dad.

**Matt**

“The first thing I’m going to do is head over to Johnny’s bar!” Jimmy grinned slapping my back.

While the rest of the guys continued to talk about what they were going to do first, I couldn’t bring myself to join the conversation. My mind was racing right now, focused purely on Kara and what the Berry’s had told us. They were due to meet us here at the airport to take us home and I was beyond impatient at the moment. I needed them to tell me, in person what they saw, and show me the pictures they had taken.

I was unsure whether to be excited, or angry.

“HEY!”

My head snapped to the left just in time to see the Berry’s running over to us. I couldn’t help but grin and wave slightly, my mind still focusing on Kara. I noticed a blue folder in Jason’s hand, making my heart thud widely in my chest. I needed to see the pictures badly.

“Jesus sorry for being late, fucking tra-”

Before Jason could finish I grabbed the folder from his hand, grunting that it was okay before flipping it open. I quickly grabbed the first picture, staring at it in awe for a few moments. Kara was dressed in a simple pair of black work slacks, a white shirt and holding what looked like a black apron in her hand. It was what was appearing from underneath her shirt that was gaining my growing attention.

“Matt?”

Her stomach.

“Come on say something your face is turning red.”

It was round.

“Sanders air is good.”

She really was pregnant.

“I need to see her, and I need to see her now.”

**Kara**

I had started to clean the dishes about an hour ago, since my shitty dish washer decided to break down on me once again. A frustrated cry escaped from my lips as the water came out once again far too hot, scalding my hands for the third time. My attention was taken away from the bowl I was scrubbing when a knock on my door echoed through my apartment. I hesitated for a brief moment before setting the bowl back into the sink. I wiped my hands off on my pajama pants before walking over to the door.

It was probably Chelsea or Joe coming to make sure I was okay or to bring me some extra food. Speaking of food, just thinking about it caused my stomach to growl loudly. Anything with melted cheese sounded amazing right now.

Not bothering to look through the peep hole I unlocked the door and swung it open. “He-” I froze mid-sentence. Not sure if all the hot water had made me go insane somehow, or if I was truly seeing the person in front of me. I was tempted to shut the door and open it again just to make sure, but I didn’t want to risk them leaving.

There stood Matt.

Correction, there stood Matt, staring at my stomach.
