Save your heart.

Tonight, we are young.

"What's up, poopface?" I phoned my brother early in the morning. John and I had just witnessed the sunrise, it was wonderful. We were up in some hill I had never been to before, cuddled up in some blankets. It was the right time to piss my brother off, I thought.

"I hate you."

"Okay, I'll get over it. So, I was thinking that maybe we could have dinner together...the four of us?" Friday nights are the best to have dinner with your brother and his girlfriend, right?

"Hmm." He stayed quiet.

"James?" He probably fell asleep. I was cracking up inside.

"Yeah, sorry. Dinner. Tonight. Cool. Text me later."

"Alright." I said letting out a giggle. "Bye."

He was the best brother I could ever have. I behaved a little more manly around him, but that was alright. It was fun. He would probably like John, and John would probably like him. Yeah. Plus, Katie seemed like a nice girl. It was going to be a fun night out.

John invited me to his house since we hadn't had any sleep. I was so tired that I didn't mind where he drove. I didn't have to work on Fridays, so that was a bonus. It was going to be a great day. Well, the part of it that I wasn't asleep. When we arrived, there was no one at home; his brothers were at school/college/whatever and his parents were working. Such a relief. John's bed was really comfortable, so I fell asleep like a baby, my hands around his waist. By the time we woke up it was already 4pm. Apparently, his mother came into the room and saw both of us sleeping, so she told everyone to stay quiet since she didn't want to wake us up. How sweet.

"Jessie." John whispered, waking me up kissing the tip of my nose.

"Good morning." I said smiling and opening up one eye.

"My mother prepared us something to eat. She also told me we are cute." He proudly sighed and I smiled. She thought we were cute. I already liked this woman.

"I don't think I'm ready to meet your parents already, though. I look like shit."

"You look beautiful." He made me blush. I fixed my hair with my hands. John held my hand and walked me downstairs. Luckily, only his mother was at home. It's not that I didn't want to meet all of them, it's just that I'm too shy.

"Hello Mrs. O'Callaghan." I offered her my hand but she didn't shake it. She gave me a hug and a kiss instead.

"Sooo nice to meet you finally, Jessie! You can call me Jenny, by the way." She widely smiled.

"Nice to meet you too, Jenny!" I smiled her back. She was really nice.

"I've prepared some food for you both. You have been sleeping for most of the day, so I guess you're hungry now, right?"

"Right, mom." John chukled and kissed her in the cheek. "Thanks a lot. We gotta go now."

"You can come around anytime you want, Jessie!" She walked us to the door, grabbing me by my shoulders and gently squeezing them. She seemed to genuinely like me.

"Thanks Jenny, and thanks for the food too." I blushed. Me and my shyness. "Bye."

"See you!"

"I personally think the Borat thong would be the most appropriate thing to wear tonight, but Jessie wouldn't let me." John told my brother, who was laughing like crazy.

"Why would you do such thing Jess, why?" My brother overdramatized.

"You wouldn't wear it anyway, John." John and my brother were getting on really well, so I decided it was a good time to talk to Katie now that both of my men were talking. "So, how's Horsedog Bacon?" I asked her.

"The fish?" She laughed and I nodded. "He's alright. Did you come up with the name?" She laughed again.

"Yeah, it's great isn't it." I said laughing, too. It really was.

"Yeah, it makes you want to eat bacon."

"Totally!" I laughed again. She was great for my brother. I was wondering if he had already popped the question.

"I'm moving to his place next week." She said, smiling. They were so cute it almost hurt. She was really pretty; long legs, blue eyes, perfect teeth... I kinda wish I was like her. She looked stunning and she was wearing a plain white dress. Crazy, right?

"Great! He told me he wanted to. Glad you're going to live together now!"

"Yeah, we're quite the old ones here." She sighed and smiled. They were both 28, which I think it might be kinda depressing to think that the 30s are just around the corner.

"Don't say that! We're young, girl!"

"I guess. But I kinda like the idea of settling in and why not, start a family. I know it sounds crazy, but you know how us girls are... and I have all these ideas in my mind and I can't keep them to myself, you know." She giggled. "I hope you don't think I'm crazy."

"You mad mad lady don't you dare come close my brother!" I joked and she laughed. "To be honest," I whispered "I've fantasized too. You know, having a future with John." I giggled.

"I bet you will have a bright bright future." She kindly smiled.

"I hope the same to you as well. I was actually thinking earlier that you guys are so cute it almost hurts? Sorry it's so random."

"Don't apologize! That's actually the most beautiful thing someone has ever told us! Well, told me!" She laughed. "Thanks, Jessie."

"No probs." I laughed too.

"I'm going to have to excuse myself, I need the loo." So she left.

James paused the conversation with John and turned to me.

"Hey, Jess, what do you think?" I could see a hint of excitement in his face.

"She's a keeper. Great choice, dearest brother. I hope you don't ever dump her because if you do so I will personally get both of you back together."

"Okay, I won't." He laughed.

"She's great."

"You should keep this one too." He said screwing John's hair up. "I like him."

"Alright, I will." I said winking at John.

"Plus, he writes great songs." He said moving his eyebrows up and down and patting John's shoulder.

"I could write one about you. It'd be called 'The Chick-Flick Lover In Disguise'" John said laughing.

"How come James? I didn't know that side of yours!" I laughed.

"Oh well, they're addicting and I'm not the one to battle my guilty pleasures." He shrugged and laughed.

Katie came back from the restroom and we left. We then stopped at a club and had a drink or two. Four of us arrived at James' house at 6am and after overfeeding Horsedog Bacon and a couple of other fish my brother had in his tank, he let John and I stay in his spare bedroom. This was going to be a hell of a hangover.
