If Only Those Fan-Girls Knew
Dressed In All My Plans
Never would I even think about something like this happening, but it was. My best friend and I were going to be hanging out with All Time freaking Low backstage over the night, all because of this shitty job. I could hardly believe I wasn't dreaming.
Alyshia and I finished up cleaning really quickly after some help from the boys. I was surprised I had gotten anything done at all, with all the thinking of Alex I was doing. He was strikingly gorgeous, hilarious, and talented. I couldn't help not being able to stop thinking about him.
We consulted the boss, of course, before gathering at the front of the stage. He didn't really mind that we would be watching the concert as long as we had finished what we had to do first, which of course, we had.
The concert was starting in probably about an hour or so when Alyshia and I were lined up against the barrier, conversing back and forth.
"I can't believe this..." I said, grinning over at Alyshia.
"I can't either." She said giggling, watching the roadies set everything up. "We're the luckiest girls alive right now, no lie."
I opened my mouth to speak, but was interrupted by the doors slamming open and a group of fans rushed in, finding their place in a group around the stage, all chatting excitedly. Basically, any chance of conversation between Alyshia and I was diminished due to the loudness surrounding us. I smiled over at her sheepishly, shrugged and looked up at the stage.
Finally, after a short wait, the concert started, the boys came out, and I was transfixed, just staring up at Alex in awe.
I had been to concerts before, but never had I have the pleasure of being front and center, right across from the stage. It was exciting, but painful at the same time. People were pushing, and this I was used to, but I wasn't used to the uncomfortable bar digging into my stomach. It was worth it though, being so close to these boys doing what they loved.
I beamed up at the stage, as All Time Low played song after song, with their usual playful banter in between music, and I swear to god, ever so often I could see Alex looking at me- directly at me, and I was positive I caught Zack staring at Alyshia.
I probably looked like a mess, I mean, I was sweaty as hell because of all the people shoved together, I was exhausted, and in my comfy clothes, but I was way, way to happy too care.
Finally, we got the last song, Dear Maria, and I knew I was going to get shoved into the bars like hell. I looked over at Alyshia, who grinned excitedly before staring longingly at Zack, then I looked to Alex, who was staring me right in the eyes with a sheepish smile. I smiled weakly up at him, and he winked at me.
I swear to god my heart stopped.
"Thank you all so fucking much for coming out tonight, this song is Dear Maria Count Me In, we're All Time Low, let's do this shit." Alex yelled out to the crowd before the music and the lights hit again, the screams erupting from the crowd. I could feel the sharp pain in my lower ribcage from being brutally shoved against the barricade keeping us all from the stage, but by now, I was just ignoring it. I was sure as hell gonna have bruises, though.
Alex, Rian, Zack and Jack finished off the song, and the concert, waving to all of us before leaving the stage. Slowly, people started filing their way out, and after a little while, the place was completely empty except us.
"That was insane..." I breathed, looking over at Alyshia.
"I know..." She agreed, grinning with one hand on her stomach, probably feeling the same aching pain i was feeling. "This is probably the best night I've ever had."
"No doubt about it." I sighed in contentment, looking up at the ceiling.
"Hey girls? You can come back now." Zack said. He had apparently walked out onto the stage when neither of us were looking.
"Coming!" Alyshia said, looking up at him. I saw the immediate smile that came to both of their faces. She gave me an excited look, and we followed after Zack backstage.
Alex was sitting on the floor, back pressed against a wall, staring at the ceiling with a satisfied expression. Jack had seated himself on some boxes, and Rian was leaning against the wall, tapping on the boxes Jack was on. Once we walked in, and Alex and I made eye contact, he stood up, grinning.
"Hey, Alex..." I said, the rest of the room sort of fading away.
"Hey..." He said, running his fingers through his messy hair, crooked smile on his face. "You enjoy the concert?"
"Yeah! You're amazing-I...It was amazing, I mean..." I said, blushing hard. He tilted his head to the ground, and looked at me from under his bangs.
"Good to hear..." He said, and I inched a bit closer to him.
"It was really great. I mean, rough, but great."
Alex laughed. "Yeah, that tends to happen. You looked like you were being pushed around a lot. You okay?"
I nodded, giggling. "I'm fine. A tiny bit sore, but it's okay."
"Where?" He asked, tilting his head. I gestured down to my stomach.
"In that general area..."
Unexpectedly, Alex ran the tips of his fingers along my lower ribs, slowly and gently. I shivered, and looked at him, biting down on my lip.
"Here?"
I nodded.
"I hate when that happens." He said, pulling his hand away, looking embarrassed. "Well, why don't we sit down? Your feet must be killing you."
I shrugged, smiling sheepishly, dropping down into a sitting position at the same time he did. He hesitantly wrapped his arm around my waist, earning a blush from me. I looked over at Alyshia, who winked at me, and then back into Alex's eyes.
We just looked at each other for a moment, and I could hear his breathing, and it made the hair raise up on the back of my neck. His hand gently squeezed my waist and my breath caught in my throat. I couldn't tell whether or not he was leaning into to kiss me or not. It was like I couldn't even breathe.
"I can't believe we've had this amazing night and you guys are leaving to go back on tour..." Alyshia said, breaking the trance Alex and I had been lost in. We turned at looked at her, Alex's arm slowly leaving my waist.
"I know..." Zack mumbled to her. "What if we never see each other again?"
"Well, we'll keep in touch, and come visit?" Jack offered.
Alex sat beside me, sort of looking like he was deep in thought.
"Yeah, maybe we'll even play here while you guys are working again." Rian said, smiling.
"I don't want you guys to go. We just met..." I said quietly, and Alex looked over at me, a small little smile turning into a full blown coy smirk.
"Well... maybe you girls don't have to..."
