Call Me Hopeless, But Not Romantic.

I went to her room after saying goodbye to Tom and she was still where I left her.

"Macy." I whispered kicking my shoes off before climbing into her bed carefully.

"Yeh can't stay in bed foreva." I said once her eyes found mine.

"I can."

I sighed and placed my arm around her, "yeh not goin' ta school tomorrow. Carol is goin' up ta tha school."

She sighed and closed her eyes.

"It's for tha best love."

I pulled her to my chest and she held onto me tightly.

"Was Oli mad at you?"

I chuckled, "No. He knew it was bout yeh."

"Thank you."

"For what?"

"For trying to make everything better."

"Anyfing for yeh love."

"Just a few more months and I'll never have to be here."

"And where yeh goin?" I asked playing with her hair.

"To California. That's where I'm going to college."

"What?" I asked because it took me off guard.

"Yeah, I got accepted into ucla."

I knew I couldn't be mad about that simply because we were only friends, but I still had the right to be hurt...right?

"Oh..."

"New start. No mean people."

"No meh."

"That's the downfall..." she whispered.

I gave her a grin, "yeh'd miss meh?"

"Yeah. For some weird reason I will."

I chuckled, "yeh com back though right? Like for holiday and fings?"

"Yeah. Why? You would miss me?"

I laughed, "sort of."

She giggled and I kissed her cheek, "Ok, I would a lot."

"But why? I'm sure you can find someone else to save every day."

"No. I'd ratha juss save yeh."

She gave me a grin and I pulled her to me, "so when would yeh be goin' there?"

"August."

"August. I have yeh for a while then."

Which in my case probably wouldn't be a good thing.

"Yeah. You do."

"Let's get some sleep." I said softly.

"Oh going to sleep with me again?"

"Yep. Don't want meh to?"

"I mean, I don't care."

"Good wasn't reallah gonna ask." I joked and she rolled her eyes.

"Turn the light off." She said and I groaned, "No. Yeh closa."

She laughed, "am not."

I chuckled, "well I can make yeh closa."

"Matty!"

I couldn't help but laugh, "yeh propa sillah."

"Go." She said trying to push me off the bed.

"Stop it yeh mean lil bird." I said pinning her to the bed.

"Stop calling me that!"

I laughed and she looked up at me as the room grew quiet.

"Hey Mac..." I said at a whisper.

"Huh?"

"I really want to kiss yeh." I said honestly and she instantly blushed.

"Can I?" I whispered leaning closer to her.

She nodded slowly as my nose touched hers.

"I'm a bit scared."

She laughed at my confession, "why? I won't call the police."

I chuckled, "very funny."

she gave me a grin and I softly pressed my lips to hers.

I pulled back instantly simply to see her reaction. Her eyes fluttered opened and her lips were still parted a bit which caused me to irrationally kiss her again.

"Sorrah." I said quickly and she smiled.

"I juss, that felt necessary."

She laughed, "why?"

"I mean, I dunno. Juss wanted ta know what it was like..."

"You sound like a 17 year old boy."

"Yeah? Good. Right up your age alley." I joked.

She giggled and pushed me lightly.

"Does this mean I can kiss yeh wheneva now?"

"Um...no."

I frowned and she chuckled, "kidding."

"So...yeh want meh to?" I asked with a smirk.

"Well, you're kind of too old for my taste..."

I glared at her and she laughed, "Kidding."

"Well, I'll ask yeh again in tha mornin' when yeh have had sleep."

"You are ridiculous." She said laughing as I went and turned the light off.

"Yeah well, we will discuss that tomorra too." I said chuckling as I got back under the cover with her. She relaxed against me and I held on to her, "goodnight my lil bird."

I surprisingly woke up before her and I watched her sleep for a few minutes. I mean, I know I shouldn't start anything with her. As in more than friends, but I wanted to. I surprisingly wanted to and I didn't know why. I just found myself wanting to be more than that. I wasn't sure what came after friends exactly, it had been. While since I actuall had a serious girlfriend and that nerved me but I would definitey try for her.

I slipped out of her room without waking her and when I reached the living room I could hear talking in the kitchen. I followed the voices only to come in contact with Oli and Lexi.

"Oh hi." I said giving them a confused look as Lexi kept cooking.

"We figured we'd cook for Macy."

I nodded and pulled myself up on the counter.

"What's wrong?" She asked and I sighed as I ran my hand into my hair trying to decide if I need to lie or just tell the truth.

"I...ok. I like her... I'm not sure why, but I go all Tom wheneva I'm around her. You know all mushy and sweet and it makes me want to vomit, but, she's propa perfect and we kissed last night to make it worse."

Oli stopped mid bite of toast and just stared at me.

"I know mate. I fuckin' know." I grumbled.

"Awe." Lexi said with a smile and I rolled my eyes.

"What do I do?"

"She clearly likes you."

"Yeah, but she's goin' ta college in California if I invest in this now, whateva that is...where will that leave meh?"

"Juss take a day at a time mate. Since when do yeh eva fink inta anyfing?" Oli asked.

I sighed, "since i bloody met her."

He chuckled, "Oh man. I hope yeh know it juss gets worse from here."

Lexi smacked him in the stomach causing him to laugh, "what?! It does. He finks he's mental no juss bloody wait."

I whined, "don't say that. I might juss run away."

"Yeah right. Yeh like her too much now. Shouda done that days ago."

I placed my face into my hands and Lexi laughed,"you two are cute together."

I grinned and removed my hands, "I know."

Oli olled his eyes and she laughed as Macy walked in looking as confused as I did.

I just watched her as Oli ruffled her hair and she swatted at his hand.

She was beautiful even when she just woke up. He was right. It was too late.

I hopped off the counter so Lexi could open the cabinet and Macy's eyes moved to me.

I gave her a smile and Oli spoke, "bloody gag meh."

"This comin' from someone who's bird is knocked up."

Lexi laughed and Oli shrugged, "touche."

I followed Macy into the dining room and sat beside her in silence. She glanced over at me and i chuckled, "what?"

She shook her head and I leaned over kissing her quickly.

She blushed shyly and I smirked as I pulled away, "well instead of talkin' bout it. I figured I'd juss do it."

She chuckled and Oli walked in with cups.

"Oh, when is Carol going to go up there?" She asked him and he shrugged, "should be there now."

She nodded as he set a glass in front of her.

"Gonna be juss fine." I said rubbing her arm and she shrugged.

After we ate I helped lexi clean up while Macy went to shower.

"Lexi..." I said as we finished loading the dishwasher.

"Mhm?"

"So like...what do I do from here?" I asked leaning against he counter crossing my arms uncomfortably.

"Well, ask her on a date. Take her out tonight so she won't be thinking about all that school drama."

I sighed, "Ok. Then what?"

"Lets take this one step at a time."

I nodded nervously and she laughed, "it'll be ok. I promise."

"Ok, well, here goes nuffin." I said pushing myself off the counter and heading to her room.

Her door was opened and I leaned on the door frame watching her apply makeup to her face. I couldn't help but smile because she was balanced on one foot, her face almost hitting the mirror on her dresser as she applied something to her eyes.

I didn't want to scare her and cause damage so once she brought whatever to the dresser I spoke, "yeh don't need any of that."

She looked over at me and smiled, "I do."

I shook my head and stepped into her room, "hey Mac..."

"Hey Matty."

I smiled, "Look, I'm not reallah good at this shit, but um, how would yeh feel bout goin' on a date wif meh tonight?" I asked rubbing the back of my neck nervously.

A smile hit her lips, "I'd love to Matt."

"Reallah?"

She nodded and leaned up on her toes to kiss me.

I couldn't fight the grin that hit my lips and I kissed her back quickly.

"Is this weird?" I asked her a concerned look hitting my face.

"What?"

"I dunno. I mean, I juss don't know how yeh feel bout this."

"Feel about us?"

I nodded feeling very insecure for the first time in well, probably ever.

She smiled, "I like us."

I laughed, "well that's good to know."

She laughed, "I mean, I don't find it weird. Do you?"

"No not at all."

"You know I just joke about your age right?"

I laughed, "I know. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't anyfing else."

"Nope." She said running her hand into my hair.

I snaked my arm around her waist and leaned down to kiss her.

"Where are you taking me?" She asked and I chuckled, "well, I don't have it quite figured out yet. One step at a time."

She giggled and I kissed her cheek, "somewhere though."

"Good to know."

"I'm gonna go home and showa and all that. Yeh gonna be ok? I mean, yeh can come wif meh."

"I think I'll manage."

I chuckled, "ok. Juss makin' sure. See yeh soon, doll." I said kissing her lips and forcing myself to drop her hand.

I grabbed my shoes up and headed back downstairs.

"Well?" Lexi asked and I chuckled as I sat down to put my shoes on.

"We're goin out tonight. I juss don't know where."

"Not to a pub Matty."

"I'm not that daft." I mumbled pulling my coat on.

"Take her to dinner, and I don't know, a movie. It's been a long time since I went on a date." she said shooting a look at Oli looked up from his computer quickly, "bullocks!"

I chuckled, "well I'll let yeh two sort that out. I'm gonna go."

I went home and showered and got ready for the day still unsure where I could take Macy. I guess I'd just wing it when the time comes...or mentally have a panic attack. Either way, we would just see how it goes.
