If Love Is Sweet, What Is This, Draco Malfoy?

I re-opened my eyes to see a familiar living room and smiled as I saw Narcissa come in.
“Maia. I haven’t seen you in such a long time! You look beautiful!” she said, coming over and hugging me as I stepped out of the fireplace. I smiled at her and hugged her back
“Narcissa. It has been a long time. And thank you” I told her, still grinning as I hugged her back. Even though I loathed the Malfoy’s, the one thing that made them bearable was Narcissa. I loved Narcissa dearly. She was the one person that was actually nice to me out of my parent’s ‘Evil’ friends. Lucas entered the room, shortly followed by Draco, and Draco’s eyes widened, his mouth dropping open as his eyes landed on me. I smiled at Lucas and greeted him just before my parents entered the living room. They all greeted my parents and Draco.
“Draco, be a dear and take Maia into the ballroom. She most probably forgot where it is, like she forgets many things” my mother told Draco, and my eyes flashed red
“Mother I remember where the ball room is” I said, as composed as I could, but walked over to Draco anyway.
“Maia” he said, acknowledging me. I rolled my eyes and waited for him to lead me into the ball room. When we got there, most of the people were already there.

Draco and I headed over to the group of teenagers, while our parents joined the dance floor. Everyone we knew was there: Blaise, Pansy, Crabbe, Goyle and my twin friends ‘Maisie and Millie’ I smiled as I headed towards them, with Draco just a little in front of them. There were two empty seats, one next to Pansy, and one next to Millie, so I took the seat next to Millie.
“Millie! Maisie!” I said delightedly
“Maia!” they said, equally excited. “We haven’t seen you in ages!” Millie said, and I nodded. Unfortunately, Maisie and Millie were not put in our school; instead, they were put in Beauxbatons because they lived in Paris. They were so lucky! I mean, they lived in the fashion city! Meanwhile, I was stuck here in posh little Britain drinking cups of tea to pass the time.
“I know! It’s been too long! I’ve missed you guys so much” I said, hugging them excitedly.
“Yeah, an entire year. That’s just stupid. I mean, it’s just beyond a coincidence that we were busy every single holiday” Maisie said suspiciously. I smiled at her
“No Maisie, no-one planned to split us up last year” I told her, and everyone laughed. “Oh, and hi Blaise” I said, grinning at him
“Hi Maia” he whispered, and I looked at him weirdly “You look nice” he said faintly. I smiled, and Draco smacked the back of Blaise’s head, snapping Blaise out of that trance. “Sorry” Blaise said, shaking his head, but stuttering slightly as he looked at me again. I laughed it off.
“Crabbe, Goyle” I said plainly. Even though I didn’t prefer Malfoy’s bodyguards, they hadn’t done anything wrong so it was rude to ignore them. Speaking of Malfoy, he got up to go and get a drink and ‘mingle’. In other words – find a woman to shag tonight. I rolled my eyes. “And Pansy. How are you and Draco?” I asked sweetly, and she glared at me as Maisie and Millie high fived me. “Still chasing? You’ll catch him one day. Too bad when that day comes he’ll have tied down some unlucky hooker” I said sharply, and panic covered her eyes, before realisation hit.
“You like Draco, don’t you?” she asked me evilly. I blinked twice, before Maisie, Millie and I cracked up laughing. Draco made his way back to us, with his hand around a girl and sat her down next to us.
“What are you laughing about?” Draco asked, but we ignored him
“No Pansy, I really do” I said, in-between laughter, and Maisie and Millie laughed louder. Draco stared at me for a while
“Kara, this is Crabbe, Goyle, Blaise, Pansy, Maisie, Millie and Maia” Draco said, pointing everyone out to his new ‘playmate’
“Hi, I’m Kara” she said to everyone. She looked like the usual – slutty and in desperate need to be banged. I ignored her, but she kept looking at me
“Yes?” I asked pointedly
“Nothing… are you a friend of Draco’s?” she asked me. I rolled my eyes
“No, I’m not” I said blankly. She nodded slowly.
“Right” she said unbelievingly, and I rolled my eyes, before turning back to Millie and Maisie. I started talking to them when Kara practically climbed on top of Draco and started kissing him anywhere she could, her hand smoothing over his leg. I raised and eyebrow, before coughing and she grinned evilly before looking at me sweetly
“Would you mind using one of Malfoy’s many rooms?” I asked pointedly. What was her problem with me?
“Oh, but this is one of his rooms too” she said spitefully. I exhaled sharply
“One that’s less populated” I spat, and she smiled
“Why, do you have a problem with me kissing Draco?” he asked me, and it was my turn to laugh
“I must do. Oh yes, it pains me to see you with Draco. Pains me so much, please, stop before I burst into tears” I said, before turning back to face Millie and Maisie who were also laughing. Kara glared at me, and my mouth stretched into a massive smile.

Everyone stared at me for a while until the person I was smiling at made his way over to me. Taylor, my own, personal miracle. I grinned from ear to ear as he grinned back, and he walked over to me. I stood up from the sofa and he grabbed me into a kiss that sent my mind swimming. I waited a while to regain my balance “That one kept going” I giggled, and he grinned
“Hello Maia” he said formally, and I smiled
“Hello Taylor” I said, before kissing him again
“I’ve missed you” he whispered, and I smiled.
“I’ve missed you too” I told him truthfully. In fact, every single day I’d spent at school after meeting Taylor just a short while earlier had been torture. I mean, he was in Durmstrang, so I couldn’t see him at all when we were in school.
“You know there’s quite a large, dark garden outside. And it’s less crowded. Do you want to go there?” he asked me, and I nodded as he took my hand. “Oh, wait” he said, wrapping his arms around my waist again, his face inches from mine. “I just need to go see a few people, and then I’ll meet you outside ok?” he asked me, and I nodded before he pulled my chin towards him by holding it with his thumb and forefinger and kissing me passionately. That kiss lasted for a while, until finally, he pulled away “Bye” he said, before leaving. Taylor walked away from us, and I breathed ‘bye’, before dropping down onto the sofa again next to Maisie and Millie, who were gaping at me

“Who the hell is that hottie?!” Maisie gasped “I could just eat him!” she sighed, and I grinned
“And when did this happen?” Millie asked, her eyes excited
“If you two break up, can I screw him?” Maisie asked, and I laughed
“That’s Taylor Black. We met last summer, when I went to that formal that I wore my purple dress to” I told them
“The one that you looked drop dead gorgeous in?” Millie asked me, and I nodded
“Yeah, I saw him for the first time there. We danced together and then he asked me out. It was kind of awkward though because half of the guys were set to kill Taylor after I said ok to go out with him. And Maisie if you ever touch him I will make sure you’ll never have children” I threatened, and she pouted
“But he’s so fit!” she said, her eyes wide “I could just get a tub of ice cream right here and just watch him talk to that boring old couple over there, and totally get a boner” Maisie said, and I laughed.
“I’m sure you could but no, no. Don’t touch my boyfriend” I told her sternly
“Lucky bitch. I want him” Millie said, pouting too, and I laughed
“You can have him if we break up Millie” I promised, and Maisie gaped
“What?!” she screamed
“Millie didn’t just try to take him. That’s why I said she could have him. And it’s only if we break up, so don’t count on it. He’s like the perfect guy. I mean… he knows six languages, he’s fit, he has a six pack and he picked me up the other day with one hand! And he can play the piano! And he can dance. And I mean dance! He also draws, and he’s on the national Quidditch team! He’s the blocker!” I said, and Maisie looked at me jealously as Millie gaped
“I really want him. Could I just like… borrow him?” she asked, and I laughed before my face became serious.
“No. Never. Ever” I told her, and she pouted.
“Screw you Maia, we’ll shag him if we want to” Maisie joked, and I laughed
“If you do, I’ll hurt you” I threatened, and Millie laughed
“Protective!” Millie said, and I smiled.
“And what” I laughed.

“So he’s some kind of super guy that all the girls go for? He’s not a player?” Blaise asked, and I shook my head.
“That’s what makes him perfect.” I told him, smiling, before looking at Kara
“I believe we were discussing weather I liked Draco or not?” I asked sweetly, as she gaped at me.
“Screw you” she said to Draco, before making her way over to Taylor, shaking her butt. I rolled my eyes
“Maia?” Millie asked, looking at me as if I were ill
“Yeah?” I asked
“You realise she’s going over there to flirt with your guy?” she asked me. I nodded “Well aren’t you going to stop it? Or at least worried? That’s Kara! There’s a reason why she’s so famous, especially with the guys. That slag’s never been turned down by a guy. I mean I know Taylor’s faithful but every guy has his limits!” Millie told me. I looked at Kara, flirting with Taylor.
“Alright then” I said, and made my way towards the glass French doors, away from Kara and Taylor, and slid the door open. Taylor heard the door open and looked up to see me go out of the doors and into the garden, and pulled Kara off him before heading towards the doors. I turned round and winked at Millie and Maisie, before grinning and then continuing walking in the garden as if I hadn’t realised that Taylor had come.
