Field of Shadows: Chapter 13
-Matt's POV-
Anna's breathing became shallow and I looked at her.
She was sound asleep.
She looks cute when she sleeps
I turned the T.V. and light off and wrapped my arms around her.
She snuggled into me and I smiled, kissing her forehead.
I fell asleep soon after.
-Morning-
I woke up and looked at the clock.
8:45.
Anna is still asleep, so I decided to get up and make breakfast for the two of us.
I found all the food and started making breakfast.
"Matt?" I heard her call.
"I'm downstairs Anna." I called back.
She came down stairs and sat on the counter.
"Matt, you didn't have to make me breakfast." She said.
"I wanted to." I said. "Besides. You made me dinner. The least I can do is make you breakfast."
"Awww. You're such a sweetheart." Anna said, smiling at me.
"Thank you baby." I said, pecking her lips.
"I have to check on the dogs." Anna said, getting down from the counter.
"I already fed them and made sure they went out." I said.
"Matt. Thank you." She said.
I nodded and finished cooking breakfast.
"Mmmm. It smells so good." Anna said, taking out plates.
"Thank you." I said.
I finished and put the food on the plates.
We sat down and started eating.
"So what do you want to do today?" I asked.
"Ummm, we can go to the beach?" She suggested.
"That's a good idea." I said. "But I need to go home and check on my dog."
"That's fine."
We finished eating and we cleaned up the kitchen.
"Well, why don't you take my car, go home, and then come back?" Anna asked.
"I can do that, while you get ready?" I asked.
"Yeah." She said.
"Alright."
I grabbed my stuff and grabbed the keys.
"Alright. I'll see you later babe." I said, pecking her lips.
"Okay babe." She said. "Be careful with my baby."
"I will." I said, rolling my eyes. "I'll take good care of her."
"Good."
I shut the door, got into the car and drove home.
-Anna's POV-
I went upstairs to my room and started to get ready.
I finished and Matt was downstairs waiting for me in the living room.
"How long have you been waiting?" I asked.
"Only for about 10 minutes." He said, standing up.
"You could've come up." I said, giving him a funny look.
"I wanted to let you finish." He said.
"Okay." I said. "You ready?"
"Yupp."
I locked the door and we went to the car.
"I'll drive." Matt said.
"Okay." I said.
He opened my side of the door and I got in.
"Thank you."
He nodded and went to the driver seat.
He started the car and drove to the beach.
It was only about a 10 minute drive from my house to the beach.
"I only live like 5 minutes away from you." Matt said.
"Really?" I said, laughing.
"Yeah." He said, smiling.
"I could walk to your house."
"And I to yours."
"What kind of dog do you have?" I asked.
"I have a Labradoodle named Bella."
"Aww. That's cute."
"She is cute." Matt said. "We're here."
We got out of the car and I smiled.
"Mmmm. I love the beach." I said.
"Really?" Matt asked.
"Yeah. This is one of my favorite places to come!" I said.
Matt wrapped his arms around me.
"You're way more beautiful then the beach babe." He said, whispering in my ear and kissing my cheek.
"Thank you babe."
He let go of me and grabbed my hand.
"Let's go." He said, smiling at me.
There weren't many people on the beach today.
I'm thankful for that.
Matt and I found a spot and we set towels up.
I took of my clothes and sat down.
Matt took his shirt off and did the same.
I pulled sunscreen out my bag and handed it to Matt.
"Will you please put some sunscreen on me?" I asked.
"Yeah babe."
He put sunscreen on my shoulders and back.
I put some on my legs, arms, chest, stomach, feet, face, and ears.
I'm very paranoid about getting sunburned.
"Will you put some on my bag now?" Matt asked.
"Yes I will."
I got the sunscreen and put it on him.
"Thank you babe."
We sat around for a while, just talking and laughing.
"I'm going to go into the water." I said.
"I'll stay and watch the stuff." Matt said.
"Come with me babe. It's not like there are a lot of people here to steal our stuff." I said.
"Okay babe." Matt said.
He stood up and threw me over his shoulder.
I screamed and slapped his back.
"Matthew. Put me down." I yelled.
He just ignored me and threw me into the water.
"Matt." I said, splashing him.
"Anna." Matt said back to me.
He splashed me and we started a splash war.
We started laughing and pulled me into him, kissing me in the process.
"I'm so glad I met you." He said.
"Me too, Matt." I said.
The sun was starting to set and we went back to the towels.
We sat down and watched the sunset.
Kissing and holding hands.
