I Left My Heart In Huntington Beach

Chapter 3

Nicole’s Pov:

I gasped, the cold water of the pond overtaking me. I don’t think I realized what happened until I sat up, water falling off of me. I glared at the person standing in front of me as I ran a hand over my eyes, trying to get my vision clear, which was currently blurred thanks to the water and the mascara now running down my face.

“Here, let me help you.” Biker Boy chuckled, thrusting his hand out to me.

“You’re the reason I’m in here!” I glared up at him, half tempted to just grab those muscular arms of his and yank him in next to me. I mean I wouldn’t mind seeing what he looked like wet.

“Do you want my help or not?”

“No, I’ve got it.” I mumbled, trying to get up on my own, but failed and fell right back into the water, splashing both of us and soaking myself even more.

“Sure you do.”

In an instant I felt him wrap his arms around my waist and pull me up out of the water, setting me on my feet. I stood before him a dripping mess, and he had that stupid smirk of his plastered on his lips. Maybe his face did get stuck.

“Do I get that kiss now?”

“No!” I kept my glare on him, running a hand through my now wet hair.

“But I saved you.” There he goes again with that little pout of his. Guess his face didn't get stuck.

“Well thank you for saving me, but you’re not getting that kiss anytime soon Biker Boy.”

“It’s Brian.”

“Okay, Brian, you’re not getting that kiss.” I sighed and crossed my arms. It was awkward just standing there, dripping wet in my Minnie Mouse costume, my shoes filled with water and my make up running down my cheeks. I bet I looked just wonderful.

"Look what are you doing here anyways?"

"I was just taking a walk." He shrugged.

I shivered as a cold breeze hit my arms and legs. It was a cold night to begin with, and it didn’t help that I was standing in barely nothing, soaking wet. I jumped as I felt myself being wrapped in a warm leather jacket.

“Here, you look like your cold.” He smiled at me. No smirk, but a smile.

“Thanks.” I smiled back, pulling the jacket tighter to me, trying to get as much warmness out of it as I could.

“Where do you live?”

“Why do you wanna know?” I scrunched up my nose and looked at him. The smile hadn’t left his face, and I could bet you money that he was going to get this answer out of me somehow. So I gave up and told him.

“I live just about 10 minutes from here, in that big white apartment complex.” I said, sighing.

“Good thing I know where that is then.” He smiled and grabbed my hand.

“Wha…what are you doing?” I couldn’t even speak clearly from how much I was shaking.

He didn’t answer.

I gasped as I felt Brian scoop me up in his arms with no trouble at all. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he continued walking. His arms were warm and strong and I felt like I didn’t have to worry about him dropping me.

“You don’t have to carry me.”

“I want to. Besides, I don’t mind the view I’m getting.” He smirked looking down at my lap.

Confused, I followed his gaze to my lap, to see my lacy purple underwear sticking completely out, his leather
jacket barely covering them. I groaned and buried my face into his neck, feeling my cheeks burn up.

“That one is mine. Number 438.” I pointed to the white door as Brian set me down.

“Turn around.” I ordered him.

“Why?” he furrowed his brows.

“Just do it.” I said exasperated and not wanting to take my keys out of my bra in front of him. But then again
he had seen so much of me tonight that I didn’t think it would matter.

I heard him sigh and turn around, crossing his arms as he stared at the door. When he finally turned around, I
stuck my hand down my shirt, trying to fish out my keys. But once again a tan hand grabbed it before I could.
I gasped and jumped back, staring at him as he simply smirked at me. Dangling my keys in front of my face.

“You like keeping stuff in your bra don’t you?” he chuckled.

“You like sticking your hands in bras don’t you?” I snatched my keys out of his hand and pushed him aside, unlocking the door.

“You know it baby.”

I sighed and shook my head, pushing open the door to my apartment.

Brian’s Pov:

I couldn’t help but keep staring at her. She was wet from head to toe, but she looked hot. Especially in my leather jacket.

“Go ahead and make yourself at home, I’m going to go get out of these wet clothes.”

I nodded as she made her way out of the living room.

I shoved my hands in my pockets, and not really knowing what to do, I began taking in my surroundings. She definitely had the house of a librarian. Neat, organized, mellow, soft matching colors, and of course…books. I walked over to the balcony, and slid open the door, stepping outside.

The balcony was decorated with a table and two chairs, and little pots on each side with different kinds of flowers. She also had an amazing view. You could see the city side of Huntington, but if you looked close enough, you could spot the pier as well.

I took in a deep breath before going back inside, and was greeted by a little barking dog, jumping up on my leg.

“Hey there little guy.” I smiled and got down on my knees, petting the dog on his tiny head.

“Snickers!” I looked up as I heard her voice. She ran into the living room in her pajamas and
my leather jacket still wrapped around her curvy feminine frame.

“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to let the dog out.” She bent down and grabbed the dog off my leg, scooping him into her arms.

“It’s okay, I have a little dog to.” I chuckled and began rubbing the dog’s head again.

“Oh yeah? What’s its name?” she smiled up at me and began petting the dog along with me.

“Her name is Pinkly. Maybe our dog’s could have a play date sometime.” I smiled down at her as she just giggled and shook her head.

“Why are you laughing at me?” I chuckled along with her as those beautiful hazel eyes stared into mine.

“I thought big bad biker boys were supposed to have big dogs. Like a pit bull and their name is monster or killer .And they definitely don’t suggest to have play date’s with other dogs." She smiled up at me, still giggling a bit. I was beginning to like that giggle.

“Hey, I may have a tough exterior but you know, if you really got to know I could have a sensitive side to me.” I lifted my hand from the dogs head, and up to her cheek. I began stroking it softly.

She didn’t smile, didn’t stop me, didn’t turn away… I think she might have stopped breathing to. All she did was stare at me…

“You know, I still don’t know your name. And I don’t want to have to call you Minnie Mouse every time I see you.” She rolled her eyes at me.

“Who said you were gonna see me again?” she smirked at me, lightly pushing me off. Oh, so little miss conservative librarian has tricks now does she? I bit my lip, trying not to groan at that smirk, but wishing at the same time that
I could see it again.

She set the dog down on the floor and began walking towards the front door. I came to the conclusion at that moment, that the heels didn’t make her hips sway that way, that was all
her. Which made it 10 times more attractive to me.

“See ya around Biker Boy.” She stood to the side as she held the door open. I smirked down at her as I walked past. I was halfway down the stairs when I heard her call my name. I stopped and looked at her over my shoulder.

“It’s Nicole.” And with that she simply smirked and shut the door…leaving me there stunned.
