There's No Escape...

What was this guy doing to me? He's gonna drive me crazy, what am I going to do? This was starting to worry me now, at first I let it go, but this was too much. I walked to the stairs and sat down on a step. I tried remembering all the times I had seen him. 

My nightmare, I saw his hazel eyes. I met his gaze the other day when Mr Adams was assigning us partners for the projects. That night in the alleyway, all I could see was his hazel glowing in the dark. In my second nightmare about dad, he was the one who stroked my cheek with his knife, he was close enough for me to realise what colour his eyes were. 

I was beginning to get scared, but I had to be strong, if he wanted to harm me or my only family, I had to be strong, not just for myself but for my mother. She's my world, I cannot lose her. If I lost her....I can't even think about it let alone say it. That thought makes me want to cry. 

I let go of every single thought I had in my mind, except for HIM. That was something I wasn't going to let go of that easily.

"Mum!! I'm home!" I yelled. No answer. I remembered the note in the key box, or was that just a delusion? I slowly walked towards the key box while looking around to see if HE was going to come out of nowhere. 

I let out a sigh of relief, I opened the key box and saw that the note I thought I imagined, after seeing HIM was no delusion.

"Okay, let's see what it says..."

I unfolded the white piece of paper. 

'Alice honey I am sooo sorry I left without informing, it was an emergency. Don't worry, I'm going to be out of town for a few days, but I will try to come as soon as I can, okay? take care. Dinners in the fridge'

My stomach growled and I let out a huff. I really didn't want to eat but I had to shut my stomach up.

After I ate, I washed the dishes and seeing as it was a saturday I thought about calling Sam over. 

"Hello?"

"Hey Sam, do you wanna come over today? Mum's gone out because there was an emergency"

"Sorry Alice, I can't come over, I wish I could, but some family friends decided to pay a visit, and they're going to be staying over." I could hear him groan. Clearly he didn't like having family friends over he said it was kind of a waste of his time.

"Oh.....well, it is important for you to stay there"

"Yeah....sorry, you don't know how much I wish I could come."

"No problem Sam, I understand. Bye and enjoy!" I laughed.

"Bye and I know I won't enjoy!" I could imagine him giving me the evil eye right now. He hung up and so did I.

 I sighed and thought about what I could do; watch a horror movie or do homework. I frowned and put my thinking face on. Maybe I could do both. I ran upstairs to grabbed my backpack, I remembered that I had left it in his car, that's when I stopped in the middle of climbing the stairs and lost my balance. I tipped back and forth but I was unable to gain my balance back. I gasped as I fell back, my fear was clearly showing on my face right now. I could break my neck and die instantly, I could faint and there won't be anyone to help - my mum. 

It was like I was falling in slow motion because I actually had time to think about all of this. Then the most unexpected thing happened. The same arms caught me and saved me from falling-again. I froze there in his arms, breathing heavily. I was in shock. 

I controlled my breathing and stood up, my eyes widened when I saw who it was. He was just smiling. 

"Hi."

"....."

"Alice? Hellooo?" he was waving his hand in front of my face, trying to snap me out it.

"Huh? Oh, hi. What are you doing here? And how'd you get in?"

"Well first of all I came to give you your backpack back, you had left it in my car and second of all, you left the door open" he answered my questions with a smile.

"Thanks for saving me." I tried to ignore the fact that he could have been the same guy who had saved me from falling in the alley.

He chuckled "It's okay, I think I'm gonna be doing that a lot, but you know, I can't always save you." he said laughing a little trying to lighten the mood. 

"Yeah I know." I sighed looking around a little "So..."

"So.." he looked around "Um, how did you fall?"

This time, I chucked "I was actually going upstairs to get my backpack when I remembered I left it with you, I kind of lost my balance and fell."

He came closer, leaned down and looked into my eyes before whispering "You need to be more careful next time." I looked down, to nervous to look back up. He lifted my chin up and made me look at him. I could feel my palms start to sweat. What can I say? I'm a nervous sweater. He looked deep into my eyes as if trying to find something out. I did the same, he was hiding something behind those hazel orbs. He leaned in and did the unexpected. 

HE KISSED ME! He startled me at first but then I kissed him back, not wanting to go any further I pulled away. I could feel the blood rushing to my cheeks. 

He broke the silence first out of the two of us "Wow!" he muttered under his breath "I..-I-I.." he stuttered.

"Don't know what to say" I finished his sentence for him.

He let out a deep breath "Yeah" we looked around nervously not knowing what to say. "Um...I think..."

"You should go home?" I finished his sentence again.

"Well...yeah.. Um see you on.."

"Monday." This time I did it on purpose and we both cracked up laughing. 

"Bye Alice, be careful, I'm not SuperMan!" I laughed at his comment.

"Bye Andre." and with that he left, closing the door behind him.

I smiled, I hadn't kissed a guy in like....forever. To be honest I never really had a boyfriend. I wasn't interested and guys didn't see anything interesting in me. 

Then it hit me. I hadn't left the door open, I clearly remember closing it. So how did Andre get in?
