Wildflowers

The dilemma.

"Mhm, strangest thing. It looked like someone that looked like you was kissing up on Franceschi. So wierd." Kacy spat out sarcastically and Greyson shook her head as she sat next to her friend.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"Mhm. Must have been my imagination. Question. On a scale of 1 to 10 how good of a kisser is he? I've always wondered about that."

Greyson laughed, "Why?"

"Because! Girls tend to flock to him and I just wondered if that was the reason why. So, 1 to 10. Go."

"I'm not telling you."

"Oh yes you will."

"How good of a kisser is Max?" She asked and a blush hit her friend's cheeks.

"I wouldn't know."

"Mhm, well when you find out we can exchange stories."

Kacy rolled her eyes as someone banged on their door.

"Probably loverboy." Kacy joked and Greyson laughed as she opened the door.

Her laughter however, was short lived when she came face to face with her mother who did not look happy to see her daughter.

Greyson just stared at the woman not sure what to do from here.

"You're marrying Blaine." Her mom said pushing her way into her apartment.

Greyson let out a sigh, "Mom, we are not going into this. It's done."

"No, I'm afraid not. You forget I'm the one paying for your schooling, apartment, everything! You will do as I say or all that will be taken away." Her mom said sternly and Kacy just sat there unable to move.

"So now you're threatening me?"

"No. It's an ultimatum. Him or nothing."

"Dad would hate you if he knew you were doing this." Greyson said wishing the one person who was always on her side was here.

"Well, unfortunately your dad isn't here to do so..."

Greyson felt tears hit her eyes. Her dad was a touchy subject and her mom knew that. He was always gone on 'business' and she always used it to bring Greyson to tears. Although her parents were divorced she favored her dad over the woman before her and without him she was unsure how she felt towards her so called mother.

"You have two days to decide." Her mom said calmly as she left the apartment with a slam of the door.

"She can't do that..." Kacy stated ad Greyson just shook her head as tears fell from her eyes, "I'm going to bed."

Kacy simply nodded knowing that nothing she said would fix this and she knew exactly who to call.

Greyson crawled into bed wondering how her night could have been so amazing and within moments she was crying her eyes out. It just wasn't fair. She didn't think she was a horrible person, so why did all this keep happening to her?

"Well love, this is becoming too routine." She heard and looked to her bedroom door to see the boy she needed the most. A small grin hit her lips and he gently crawled beside her taking her into his arms.

"What happened baby girl?" He whispered into her hair and she just cried even more from the softness of his voice.

"I mean if you didn't want me to leave, you could have just said so."

A laugh escaped through her tears and he pulled back to look at her.

"Tell me." He whispered as he brushed her tears away.

"My mom is a bitch."

He chuckled, "Well, yes, but what does that have to do with anything?"

"She's making me marry Blaine! She basically is threatening me!"

"What do you mean?" He asked cautiously and she sighed, "Basically if I don't marry him she's going to stop paying for everything. School, my house, etc."

"What?" He fumbled out an she nodded, "I don't know what to do. I mean, this is my last year of school..."

He just stared at her unsure what to say. His mind racked with thoughts trying to find a way to help her. Not that he wasn't doing well with the band, but not enough to support someone besides himself. He instantly felt worse than he thought possible because without question, if he could, he would.

"You're not marrying him." He said firmly and she buried her face into his shirt.

"I don't know what to do."

"We will figure it out."

"I wish my dad was here." She mumbled and he held her tightly.

"It'll be ok. I won't let this happen."

"And what are you going to do?"

"I don't know yet, but I'll figure it out. Don't cry love. Everything will be fine. I promise." He said seriously as he rubbed her back. He really didn't know what he'd do, but if he had to beg his mom to let her move in or pick up a regular job while he wasn't touring he would. He would do whatever he needed to do to protect her.

"Get some sleep my love." He whispered pressing his lips to her cheek gently. He knew she had tired herself out from all the crying because she didn't object just closed her eyes and he brushed her hair back as he sang to her softly. He would make everything ok for her. That he would swear to.

The next morning she woke up still pressed against Josh as he held on to her tightly. She felt so comfortable with him and she wish she could just lie there forever tangled up with him. All was right with the world when he was with her. It was undescribable. She just felt safe with him and knew he'd find a way out of this disaster she had created.

She turned on her back and let out a sigh as she stared up at the ceiling. When did her life become such a mess?

"Stop it." Josh's sleepy voice hit her ears before his lips pressed against her jaw.

"Stop what?"

"Stop worrying. You trust me don't you?"

"Yeah..." she whispered and he wrapped his arm around her securely.

"Everything will be fine. Don't stress out. I'll fix it." He replied kissing her neck softly.

She simply nodded in response and he lifted up so his eyes met hers. A small grin hit his lips and she couldn't help but smile back. A chuckle left his lips at their small moment. He knew he could make her smile and that made him feel better than he thought possible.

"Shut up." She said with a laugh and he smiled, "I didn't say anything, love."

She rolled her eyes and he crashed his lips to hers. His hand twirling into her hair as she kissed back.

"I love you. I'm not going to let anything happen to you. Especially you marrying someone that isn't me." He whispered as their foreheads touched.

"Going to kidnap me?"

"If worst comes to worst!"

She giggled and he pecked her nose, "I'd do anything for you."

She smiled and brushed his hair from his forehead, "Anything?"

"Well...." he trailed off and she laughed as his playful grin hit his lips, "What do you have in mind, love?"

"Breakfast."

"Oh? That's it?! Well, I think I actually can do that." He said picking her up off the bed as she giggled in his arms.

He kissed her cheek as he placed her on her feet, "Get ready. I'll see if that twat Kacy wants to come as well."

She nodded as he left and she couldn't help but smile. He could always make her feel better and she would forever be thankful to him for that.

"Hey Kacy! Want to go get breakfast?"

"Are you paying?" The girl asked sticking her head out her bedroom door.

"Yes. Regretfully I can tell already."

"Great! Let me get dressed."

"Great!" He mocked and she rolled her eyes as she went back into her room. He liked messing with her and she liked messing with him. It was something they both had grown accustomed too and he missed the banter between them.

"Look spiffy! Max is coming!" He yelled with a smirk before texting his friend to invite him. He was surprisingly cheerful today and he felt the need to make someone else the same.

"Oh man. I need to change then." Greyson replied as she walked into the living room. He chuckled, "Oh? Does Kacy have competition?"

"Oh yeah. I fancy Max." She joked and he chuckled grabbing her waist in the process.

"That's proper sad because I fancy you."

She shrugged, "What can I say? His tattoos just get me."

He laughed and kissed her cheek, "That's just too bad."

"Oh?"

"Yeah. Too bad because if I'm helping you jilt some guy at the alter you're mine."

She laughed and he kissed her lips a few times before linking his hand with hers.

"Ok, done!" Kacy shouted and Josh chuckled, "Good. Off we go."

He didn't bother dropping Greyson's hand as they walked out of the apartment. It felt too comfortable for him and if no one knew he liked her by now they were delusional.

They made it to the diner right as the guys showed up. Greyson dropped Josh's hand in order to hug Chris who proceeded to spin her around causing her to laugh.

"Glad to have you silly birds back around." He said and she smiled, "Yeah, we know."

Matt chuckled and threw his arm over her shoulders, "Still the same I see..."

"Why change greatness?" She said and Josh couldn't help but laugh.

"So..." Dan spoke as they got seated at a booth in the back.

"So?"

"Blaine is...fill in the blank."

"Dunzo." Kacy filled in for him causing the guys to chuckle.

"Always Franceschi you know how that goes." She added causing Greyson's cheeks to burn with embarrassment.

Josh chuckled and placed his arm on the back of the girls chair, "Look don't harass my lady. If anything you should be harassing Max and Kacy since they both like each other and are both scared to even touch each other."

Kacy and Max both began to blush and the guys all looked at the pair sitting together. Max coughed uncomfortably and moved a bit closer to the window.

"Aweeee." Dan said causing Kacy to groan and slam the palm of her hand to her forehead.

"Nice one." Greyson said patting Josh's chest and he smiled with accomplishment.

The guys began harrassing Max immediately and Greyson just laughed in her spot next to Josh.

"We are over." Max said giving her a look from across the table.

"What?! I didn't say anything! Josh did!"

"So?! How did he know?!"

"I'm psychic..."

"Bullshit."

"Why does it matter? Now you two can get over this whole awkward state and date. You should be thanking me."

"...and me." Josh chimed in and Max dropped his head to the table dramatically.

"Max and Kacy. Max and Kacy." Matt mocked and Kacy smacked his arm, "Shut your face."

"Fiancé ten o'clock." Dan said causing Greyson to look behind her.

"That would techincally be 7 to her since she's facing you." Chris said and Max busted out laughing.

She shrunk in my seat as close to Josh as she could. His arm covered Greyson protectively and the whole table grew quiet as Kacy kept an eye on the boy at the front of the diner.

"Why is he alone?" Max questioned and Kacy shrugged, "because no one likes him."

Josh looked down at the girl and brought his free hand to her face. He really wasn't worried about the boy. Afterall, he was sure he could take the bloke if need be, but he did however worry about her.

He leaned down kissing her lips gently, "Wanna go?"

She shook her head as the waitress appeared with their food.

"Ok, he's out of view. You're good for now." Kacy announced an Greyson sat up straight.

"Lets eat and go." Max stated and she nodded in agreement. The table stayed quiet for the rest of the meal and they snuck out of the diner unscathed although Josh could tell Greyson was still bothered and he would get to the bottom of it.
