Wildflowers

Hard to swallow.

Greyson went straight to her room and fell on her bed with a sigh. She would just sleep the earlier events off. Well try to anyways...

She slept for about an hour until she was woke up by someone knocking on her door. She got up a part of her hoping it was Josh even in her sleepy state. She was quickly disappointed though when she opened the door to see Blaine.

"Oh hi."

"Well, don't sound too happy to see me." He joked and she faked a smile as she let him in.

He kissed her quickly before running his hand through his tassled hair.

"How's the wedding stuff going love?" He asked sitting on the couch and she sat beside him with a sigh, "Stressful."

He flashed his perfect teeth, "Well, don't worry. Not much longer." He responded before he went to texting on his phone as if she wasn't there.

She nodded as she took the time to study his features. He was a good looking guy. He had a prominent jaw line that she found attractive, dark hair that was always perfect, and brown eyes that were a bit on the light side. He was good looking in the way as in, too good looking. Too perfect. He didn't have a flaw on his face. Which she found she didn't like. She immediately began comparing him to Josh. Josh was the opposite of him. His hair was always messy, his blue eyes were vibrant and he had the most adorable crooked grin. He was unperfectly, perfect. That's what she liked about him. She didn't think she had ever even seen Blaine with scruff on his face or a hair out of place.

"Sorry babe, I got to go back to the office. I swear they can't surivive without me." He said kissing her before getting off the couch.

"Ok." She mumbled. She should be use to this happening my now and yet she always expected it to go differently.

"I'll come back later. Love you." He said with a smile before putting his phone to his ear and walking out. She sighed and leaned against the couch. Why was she with him? She couldn't help but question it.

Josh paced his small room after his trip with Greyson. He had been so jumbled up since he got home, yet he wouldn't trade it for the world. He liked having her back in his life that he was sure of.

He didn't know how long he paced the floor but he was brought back to reality by the doorbell and his mom's voice ringing through the house. He sighed not paying any attention and went to fall onto his bed until he heard the one voice he couldn't ignore. Greyson. He fumbled to his feet and as he did so she walked into his room. His eyes landed on her and she gave him a weak grin. He didn't expect her to just show up here, not that he minded at all.

"Nothing's changed in here I see." She says looking around the room she remembered so well. He chuckled, "Why change greatness?"

She smiled and fell onto his bed.

"Did my mom freak out seeing you here?" He asked, his eyes never leaving her as he laid down as well.

"Pretty much."

He chuckled and turned on his side so he could face her.

"Feel better?" He whispered and she nodded, "Yeah..."

He sighed and rested his chin on his crossed arms as he stared at the beautiful girl.

"Why are you here Grey?" He asked softly and she shrugged in response.

"You know what I hate?" She asked and he chuckled, "What?"

"People who are too good looking."

He laughed, "How can you be too good looking?"

"You can. I think people are better looking when they have flaws you know?"

"No I don't..." he chuckled amused by this conversation. It reminded him of high school though he wasn't complaining.

"Yes, like maybe they have a funny laugh or a crooked smile or a big nose!"

"Or freckles?" He joked with a grin referring to the girl in front of him.

"Exactly."

"Yeah, I get it. I agree."

"Of course you do." She said with a grin. Of course he would simply because the were basically the same person.

A grin hit his lips and he spoke, "What's mine?"

"Your eyebrows."

He laughed, "Knew you'd say that." He said wiggling them at her and she laughed.

"What made you point this out?" He asked placing his hand on hers which was relaxed on her stomach.

"I don't know."

He chuckled, "Can we nap?"

She nodded quickly and he gave her a grin as he sat up kicking his shoes off before pulling hers off as well. He pulled the blanket over them and she didn't hesitate to cuddle up to him. They both instantly fell asleep and it wasn't long until his mom was waking them up.

"Greyson." Mrs. Franceschi whispered and the girl instantly sat up sleepily.

"Your mom called."

"My mom?"

"Yeah apparently no one can find you."

"Oh...did you tell her I was here?"

"No." His mom replied with a grin before leaving the room. Greyson sighed in relief and Josh looked up at her as she spoke, "Guess I should call her."

He nodded and she felt around for her phone. His arm was still lazily relaxed on her waist although she was sitting up. He didn't feel the need to remove it, instead he just closed his eyes back.

"Tell'em you fell asleep at Dan's." He mumbled knowing her being with him would stir something up.

"Hey..." she said softly into the phone and he absentmindingly traced circles into her side where his hand rested.

"First off mom, I don't have to tell anyone where I am going I am a grown up." She stated getting a bit annoyed by her mothers need to check on her.

"I fell asleep at Dan's relax. Blaine needs to realize I make my own decisions." She spat out and her mom told her to call him and hung up on her clearly aggravated. Greyson let out a sigh of frustration before falling back onto the bed.

"Going to call him?" He asked and she shook her head no, "No. It's been what? Two hours! No need to alert the media! Ugh!"

He chuckled and gave her side a squeeze. She threw her phone onto the floor and he gave her an amused grin as she pulled the cover back over her and scooted closer to him.

"I don't need to be checked on."

"I know, love." He agreed just to agree. Anything against Blaine he'd agree with.

"Stupid people." She mumbled into his shirt and he couldn't help but chuckle. She was a bit angry at the fact that she felt like she was being baby sat. It's why she liked being with Josh. He was so laid back and calm, it made her that way. She inhaled deeply taking in the smell of the boy who had a hold of her. She knew she had already fallen back in love with him. That quickly. It didn't take much when around him. They were drawn to each other. It's just how it had always been and she and him both knew that.

"You should at least call him and tell him you're ok." Josh said trying to do the right thing here.

"No. He left me to go back to work and now he wants to see me? Why does he get to decide?"

"Well, I mean, you should want to see him if he's always busy." He said brushing her hair with his fingers.

"I'd rather see you." She answered boldly and she knew if she would have been face to face with him she wouldn't have been able to say that.

Josh didn't respond although his heart was now beating faster then he thought possible.

"Well, you know you can stay here as long as you want, love." He managed to get out at a whisper.

"Yeah I know."

He laughed at her remark and kissed her head, "Course you do. It is getting late though, you staying the night?" He asked noticing it was now dark outside.

"Do you care?"

"Didn't I just say you could stay as long as you want?"

"Just wanted to see if you were serious..." She said leaning up to look at him with an amused grin. He chuckled, "Yeah, I'm serious."

They both laughed for no real reason except that they were happy to be back in each others presense. His phone ringing abruptly interrupted their moment and he fumbled to pull it out of his pocket.

He stared at the number in confusion because it was one he didn't recognize so he pressed the green button and put it to his ear, "Uh, hello?"

"Hey is Greyson with you?" A strange voice filled his ear and his eyes narrowed in confusion.

"Blaine?" He asked and Greyson instantly sat up.

"Yeah, is she with you?"

"Mate, the fact that you went out of your way to find my number is flattering, but I don't know where your bird is and you and I both know if I did, I wouldn't tell you." Josh said seriously as he sat up causing Greyson to shoot him a look.

"Josh, you and I both know you still have feelings for her but she is my fiancé."

"Really mate? Cause I'd know where my fiancé is, so you have a lot to think about." Josh said already getting annoyed by the boy.

Greyson bit her lip watching Josh and knowing the conversation had clearly taken a turn for the worst.

"Well he hung up on me." Josh said with a shrug and she rolled her eyes.

"What? It wasn't my fault. He's an arsehole. What you see in him I still don't understand." He said with a sigh and she just stared at him in the dark room only lit by the street light outside his window.

"What do you see in him?" He asked softly as he played with her fingers.

"I mean do you two have anything in common?" He continued because she wasn't answering him.

"Not really..." she whispered as she stared at his fingers tracing over her hand lightly.

"Then why are you with him?"

She shrugged once more knowing she really didn't have a good answer besides that he was a distraction to her when Josh was gone. Blaine was nothing like him so that helped her move on because she was never reminded of how he was.

He sighed and grasped her hand tightly, "Don't do something you're going to regret."

"I wish I felt the way I do with you with him." She whispered too nervous to look at him in the eyes. However he had never felt so alive before. Maybe it was the dark that was giving him the courage but he couldn't stop the words from leaving his mouth.

"How do you feel with me?"

She shrugged and he placed his hand under her chin so she had no choice but to look at him.

"I don't know..."

He chuckled, "Why are you acting so shy around me? Since when are you scared to tell me anything?"

A grin hit her lips because he was in fact right about that, but it was all different now.

He leaned in and pressed his lips to her cheek and although she was now blushing madly she spoke softly, "I just feel comfortable with you. Like I could show up here in my pajamas and no make up and not be self conscious about it."

"Well, if you're going to marry him you should probably get over that."

"I'm just saying."

"Plus, you're pretty much beautiful either way." He whispered his fingers tracing up her jaw.

"Shut up." She mumbled and he gave her a grin, "What? You know it's true."

"Is not."

He rolled his eyes and held out his phone, "Call your whatever he is."

She shook her head and he sighed, "What are you wanting, Grey? Just tell me so I can try and figure out how to help."

"I don't know." She whispered still very confused herself. He sighed and pulled her on to him as he fell back onto the bed.

"You're making everything complicated."

"Am not."

"Are so." He whispered stroking her hair with his hand as his other arm held her pinned to him. It wasn't long before she fell asleep in his arms and he couldn't help but feel a bit of hope that she wouldn't marry that guy, that she would just ditch Blaine and confess her feelings for him.

Wishful thinking, but he didn't care.

He ran his hand over hers and came in contact with her engagement ring. He had forgotten that's what usually happens. He picked up her hand to admire the jewel only to feel like it didn't suite her just like this whole relationship. It was too gaudy for her. She was a simple girl which he loved. It wasn't right. He would have gotten her the right ring that he was sure of. He kissed the palm of her hand before gently sliding out from under her. He covered her up and headed downstairs where his mom was in the living room.

"She staying?" She asked and he nodded as he took a seat by her.

"Josh, be careful. I don't want you to get your hopes up..."

"I did it to her first so it doesn't matter."

She sighed and stared at her son trying to find words to help him.

"She does love you. You can tell."

"I know she does. Getting her to admit it to me and getting her not to marry Blaine is the issue."

"I don't think she will."

"I hope not." He mumbled running his hand into his hair, "He's not right for her and he just doesn't appreciate her like he should."

"Maybe if you wouldn't have left the first time it would be you instead." His mom said honestly and he immediately looked at her, "Look, I know I messed up, but I'm here now and I'm going to fight for her." He said with a sigh as he got up quickly.

His mom sighed, "I know, just be careful."

He nodded and headed back to his room. Although hungry he didn't want to stay to hear his mom's lectures, so he crawled back into bed with Greyson and forced himself to sleep.
