Bring Me to Life.

Today was Sunday and I was doing some homework.
“I’ve been skipping to many classes this past week …” I mumble as I do my math homework.
I heard a knock on the door.
“Grandma as much as I love you I can’t go out right now I have too many homework.”
“Is not your grandma” I heard a female voice. I turn around confuse to look at a small stranger.
“Who the hell are you?” I asked frowning.
“I’m Vanya.” She said smiling.
“Yeah still don’t know you.” I said in a sarcastic tone.
“I’m your baby sister.” I looked at her confused.
“I have no family except my Grandma so leave.” I said as I turn to my homework.
“But…”
“Look little girl I…”
“Séance come here.” I heard my grandma yelled.
I went down with Vanya after me and see a woman I thought I never would see again. I glared at her and direct my eyes towards grandma.
“Yes?” I mumble.
“This is your…” I cut her off… “I know who she is, but I don’t want to talk to her.” I hissed.
“Séance Arthur Williams do not hiss at me!” Grandma glared at me. This is the only woman I will ever apologize to.
“I’m sorry.”
“Good now say hello and be polite.”
“Hello Eliza.” I said as I still glared at her.
“Hi Séance, is been so long.” She said with half a smile.
“Yeah practically my whole life.” I hissed.
“Séance, behave.” Grandma said. “There is a child here.”
“Sorry.” I sighed. “Vanya is it?” I asked looking at my supposed little sister.
“Yeah.” She said really low.
“I’m sorry okay I didn’t mean to be mean.” I extended my hand towards her and smile.
“Is okay my mommy told me you be like this.” I frowned.
“Really? What did she tell you?” I asked curious.
“She said that you hate our family and you never came home after you ran away.” She said whispering.
“Really? Well I’m sorry honey, can you forgive me?” I asked smiling at her.
“Yes!”She squealed and jumped to hug me.
“Go with Grandma a moment okay?” She nodded and grandma went to show her our house.
“I can’t believe you told her a lie” I glared at my mother.
“I’m sorry I can’t have my own daughter hating me too.” She hissed at me.
“Yeah everything needs to be working your way or your way.” I hissed back.
“Look Séance I want my family back or atleast my son back.” I saw her fake tears come down.
“Don’t give me bullshit now Mother! You lied, you broke my father’s heart, you left me alone and broke our family apart and you expect to come back and everything will be just fine because you want everything like it was before. This is the real world not a reality show you put your stars to.” I said sounding more hurt than mad.
“Look baby I’m so sorry I just want your love and respect.” She said crying.
“Don’t waste your time with me because might not have it back.” I sounded heartless.
“Please give me a chance.” She begged me.
“No, you might end up leaving me again more broken than before.” I was really hurt. “I will never forget you after you said You never love me! I mean what kind of mother do that to a child.” I started to cry. “I was you’re only son and how many times you told me you were the best thing that happen to you and then you stop loving me after father left. And it was just because you cheated on him” I hate her. “I hate you, you are the only reason my father left grandma!” I was mad and hurt. “Leave now! And never come back looking for me.”
“Mommy is that true?” We heard Vanya say.
“Oh Vanya” She said crying even more.
“Did mommy lie to me?” Vanya said crying.
“I’m so sorry Vanya.”
“C’mon Vanya let’s go to the park.” I grabbed her and went to the park that was just a block away. We started swinging. It was silent and neither of us talked.
“How old are you?” I asked.
“Eleven.” She whispered.
“Vanya don’t cry please.” I went to her and hugged her.
“Mommy lied to me and she said that you didn’t love us.”
“Is okay sweetie, I can’t say I love you since I didn’t know you existed but I’m glad I know you now.” I smiled at her. “Can I ask you something?” She nodded. “Why did you come here?” I asked curious.
“Because … daddy hit mommy and … try to touch me and mommy was scare and we ran.” She started to cry.
“Let’s go home okay.” And she nodded. “You can sleep in my bed tonight and I will keep you safe okay?”
“You promise?” She asked as we walk home.
“I promise.”
When we came home Eliza was talking to grandma. I went upstairs to my room and put Vanya in my bed since she fell asleep on our way home. I went downstairs and heard the last sentence.
“I was hoping she could stay here until I can figure things back home…”
“Typical Eliza.” I said.
“Séance…” Grandma warned.
“She can stay but if you leave never come back.” I said.
“What?” She yelled glaring at me. “She is my child and I can come back to get her.”
“If she was your child you would have kick that ass out your house and protect her.” I glared back.
“How do you…”
“She told me. How could you be so negligent?”
“I…”
“You know what do not need to know. She can stay and you can come visit her and all but she will not leave until she isn’t afraid anymore. Now grandma would be happy to have her and I have no problem finding a job now since there will be more than 2 people here. But if you will be returning for her you have to pass child support and come visit her at least once a month.”
“Thank you.” She whispered
“You better leave before I change my mind.”
With that she took off and for some reason I knew that she will not return for her or give us money.
“Well I have to find a job now huh?” I said smiling at grandma.
“You don’t have to do it honey” She said smiling at me.
“I want to do it for her.” I said as I smile to myself.
I spend the last week looking for jobs and so did grandma even tho I said no but she did it anyways. We put Vanya to public school and fix her a new room in the house, is been tough because I didn’t know anything about girls. She’s been having these nightmares about her dad and Eliza. I try to help her and so does grandma but we can’t. Grandma found a job in a diner since she is a great cook and a sweetie to people well they took her and me well I found a job as a mechanic, and we can live in peace and I can go back to school.
I’ve been so busy that I forgot about everything about school and been a teenager. I went in late and I was taking out my books from my locker when I heard a sweet voice call me.
“Séance?” I turn around to see Allison looking worried at me.
“Hey Alli how you…” She didn’t even let me finish.
“Are you okay?” She asked not meeting my eyes.
“Yeah I was just busy.” I try to meet her eyes.
“Oh, I thought you were depress because of the breakup.” She said looking at the floor.
“What? No please that whore was not worth it of my tears.” I heard her giggle. “I’m sorry if I worried you my home is been a wreck lately.” I sighed.
“Why?” She asked more worried.
“My mother came out of nowhere because she needed help now we have my baby sister at home and my mother disappear again.” I sighed again.
“Oh I’m sorry for asking.” She mumbles.
“Don’t worry I don’t mind telling you about it.” I smiled and she still haven’t meet my gaze.
I step closer to her and put my finger under her chin “Don’t hide your face from me.”
When I saw her cheek it was cut.
“What happened to your cheek?” I frowned.
“I… have to go” She mumbled and ran.
I was going to know what happened to her one way or another.
