A Familiar Past
Chapter 8

It had been easy to gain Orochimaru’s trust. I was beginning to get use to the idea of playing spy, and I was getting pretty good at it. That is until yesterday. Yesterday, I knew my mission was over. Yesterday, Orochimaru announced his plan to collect his prize from Konoha. The one he had claimed during the chunnin exams. He had decided to leave me behind. He said he was going after someone he could use for a new member. I didn’t like the sound of that from the beginning. I watched them leave and I knew I had to warn the others.
Me: I’ll be back. I’m going out to train.
I waved to Tayuya. She just waved back as I jumped out of the hideout. The ninja of the sound had been ordered to wait for the signal to follow. I knew I wouldn’t be missed.
I hopped from tree to tree at break neck pace. I had to beat Orochimaru there without running into him. If I did run into him, my chances of playing spy were definitely done for. I’d probably be done for, too.
