Smoking Cigarettes

I whined the next day. Sin continued teasing me about how he kicked my ass six times at video games. I didn’t even know Sin could tease, but apparently when it comes to me and video games he can. That jackass if he says-

“I kicked your ass at video games.”

I screamed at the top of my lungs, then something scary happened…Sin laughed, out loud, in front of humans. Not only did my screaming stop, but everyone in the entire cafeteria stopped talking and stared in disbelief at Sin who was still laughing.

It was a sound that most people would describe as beautiful. I always imagined Sin’s laughter to be more like a cackle. I expected it to sound cracked and strange, like something you’d hear out of a horror movie, but it most definitely was not.

It was a beautifully smooth sound that seemed to fit him perfectly, but at the same time it was nothing like him. I stood in disbelief as Sin’s laughter subsided and turned into a soft snicker that then turned into nothing but a raised eyebrow towards everyone at our table.

“What?” He asks, his happy mood disappearing and turning into his normal foul one. Once again, his mood swings still astound me.

“Nothing,” they all answer, eyes wide and jaws dropped. We were shocked, obviously. Couldn’t he see that?

“You laughed,” I spoke before placing my hands on his cheeks and forcing him to look at me. My eyes stayed wide in surprised as I leaned in so our noses touched. “Are you on drugs? Did you have some type of alcohol this morning or did some type of alien kid nap you? Are you ok?”

Sin shook his head. “Idiot. I’m fine.”

“I don’t believe you are, you laughed!”

“So?”

“You never laugh.”

“Correction, I don’t laugh as openly as everyone else.”

“Same difference.”

Sin scoffs, “Just drop it.”

I whined before starting my normal rampage on how much I hate Sin. Everyone else slowly but surely went back to what they were doing. Occasionally, I felt eyes on me or Sin, but we both ignored them to continue our argument on how he’s an alien freak from another planet and that he’s horrible at hiding it.

“So are you two…dating?” Addison asks curiously.

I stood in front of him, my hands placed on my hips, and a pout now forming on my lips. I whined as I realized that Sin and I hadn’t even talked about that. Sure he gave me a hand job, and we’ve been…exploring, for the last week, but he never asked me out. I swear if I’m just something he’s willing to throw away I will fucking destroy him! I don’t care if he’s the grim reaper, he is going down!

“I don’t know!” I cry loudly. “I never thought about that.”

I could almost hear Addison twitch before asking, “You thought about making out and hand jobs but not dating?”

“I’m a boy Addison,” I answer. “Making out and hand jobs are always on my mind before dating.”

Addison rolls his eyes before saying, “I’m a boy too you know!”

I giggle, “Well then you’re not a correctly functioning boy.”

“Shut up!”

I thought everything between us was going good. Sin and I were getting closer and I don’t mean just physically. We were talking and hanging around each other more than normal. He was coming over my house a lot and occasionally I’d go to his. We would go on dates but he hasn’t asked me out yet, that stupid dickhead! His smile, his laughter, it was no longer a foreign land to me. I could get him to do it all the time when we were alone and sometimes even in public.

It was like Sin was trying to slowly let me in, but something was stopping him from allowing me full entrance. There were times where he’d just get mad and storm off. Sometimes he’d just yell at me as if I did something wrong. I knew something was bothering him, but I had no idea what.

Every time I tried to ask him what was wrong he’d say the same thing, “It’s something I have to fix myself.”

Something he had to fix himself…I never knew what he needed to fix, but I think I found out, about a month from the first time we did anything.
