Crossroads

I sighed in content as I heard the phone ringing,

“Hello,” I answered,

“Hey Mattie, its Nika,” she said, her voice had that angelic tone to it and always seemed to make me smile.

“Hey, what’s up?” I asked, I heard her smile.

“Well, Syn is here and Emmi and him are all lovey dovey, can I come over and hang out?” she asked, I nodded even though she couldn’t see.

“Yea sure, you don’t have to ask,” I answered, I sat down with the phone still pressed to my ear.

“I don’t wanna sound demanding but can you come and get me?” she questioned shyly.

“Sure, I’ll be right there,” I answered a bit too quickly, I heard her angelic laugh.

“A bit eager,” she said through a laugh, I laughed along before telling her that I missed her. “It’s only been a day, and you’ve known me less than a week,” she stated.

“Doesn’t mean that I don’t love you,” I exclaimed, her laughter stopped.

“You love me?” she questioned,

“I do,” I answered,

“I love you too,” she stated and I could tell she was smiling.

“I’ll be there soon,” I said, she agreed and hung up. Grabbing my keys, I exited the house and headed for my car.
