Lucky Now.

So alive.

Garrett happily walked downstairs with Leah and the guys all looked at them with curiousity. Probably because they wanted to know what happened. This sort of Garrett was not only new to him, but them also.

"We're leaving." Garrett said tightening his grasp on her hand.

"To bang?" Pat asked honestly and Leah laughed.

"What? No." Garrett responded blushing madly.

"Oh right. Holy Garrett. Right. Well, you two have fun." Kennedy joked and Jared laughed from the couch.

"Fuck all of you." Garrett said and Leah laughed once more.

"Don't use such language in front of your girlfriend."

"She doesn't care." He said confidently as he grabbed his phone from the table.

"Wait. What?" Kennedy asked a bit shocked that he responded that way instead of his usual nervous, fumbled words.

Garrett shrugged and Pat spoke, "Wait. Is she your girlfriend?"

"Maybe." He answered with a smug look before pulling her to the door.

"Oh my god. The world is ending!" Jared said falling back on the couch.

"Yeah because he has a girlfriend and none of us do." Pat chimed in.

"And she's actually hot." Kennedy added and Leah blushed as Garrett rolled his eyes, "Later guys."

Leah chuckled as they left the house and Garrett sighed, "They kill me sometimes..."

"I love them."

"Mhm." He grumbled holding her door open for her before getting in the car himself.

"Hey, what are you doing tonight?" He asked an idea popping into his head.

"Um, nothing. Why?"

A grin hit his lips, "I have plans for us."

"I thought we weren't going out until the weekend?"

"We aren't." He responded linking his hand with hers as he drove to his house.

She laughed, "Oh ok."

"You'll see. So, I'm terrified to bring you home simply because my mom is as bad as the guys, but I have to get some things...so heads up."

She laughed, "Oh so she likes to embarrass you too?"

"Pretty much."

"It'll be ok." She said with a grin as she looked out the window content for once. She liked Garrett. She liked how he made her feel and how soft his hands were, and how he actually listened. Everything about him drew her in and she wasn't planning on hiding it from anyone because she didn't care.

Once they reached his place he held onto her hand as they entered his house. He was already completely nervous.

"Mom?" He called out a part of him hoping she wasn't there.

"What?" She responded entering the living room. Her eyes moved from the boy to Leah and then to the linked hands between them. Garrett began to blush instantly as his mom smirked, "Oh. Hey, Leah."

"Hi, Mrs. Nickelsen." Leah responded polietly as always and Garrett dropped her hand, "I'll be right back." He told her with a grin before taking off up the stairs trying to rid the nerves. Of course it was short lived because his mom was right on his heels.

"Um, you hold friends hands?" She asked and he groaned, "Mom. Leave me alone."

"Fine, I'll just go ask her."

"No! Ok, ok. She's my girlfriend." He grudgingly said and she smiled, "Girlfriend?"

"Yes. Girlfriend. Has been for oh, ten minutes maybe."

"Awe."

He rolled his eyes, "Yeah not gay afterall." He responded sarcastically.

"See, I knew she liked you. She's very pretty." His mom replied as she crossed her arms with a knowing smile.

"Yes, I'm aware of just how pretty she is."

"I won't even yell at you for skipping school today." She said and Garrett sighed, "Great. Can I go?" He asked grabbing the messanger bag he had filled with things he would need for what he had planned.

"Yep." She said happily and he rolled his eyes. You would have thought he had just gotten married with how she was acting. They both went back in the living room where Leah sat talking to his dad who had just gotten home from his job.

"And you're hanging out with Garrett?" His dad asked amusingly and Garrett groaned. He could never get a break. Leah simply laughed, "Yeah."

"What are you two talking about?" His mom asked and his dad chuckled, "We were talking about football. The kid knows her game."

Garrett couldn't help but laugh. That was definitely one way into his dad's heart.

"Well, as awesome as that is, we gotta go." He said holding his hand out to Leah and she quickly linked it with his as she stood from the couch.

"Nice to see you both again." Leah spoke with her smile that still made his heart skip a beat. She had always loved Garrett's parents. They were soft spoken and as kind as Garrett was and she felt as comfortable in his home as she did her own.

"You too sweetie, don't let Garrett keep you away. Come for dinner some time." Mrs. Nickelsen stated and she nodded, "I definitely will."

Garrett pulled her out of the house and she smiled, "I like your parents."

"They like you." He responded honestly as they got in the car.

"So what's the plan?"

"Well, we have to wait until night fall so..."

"So we should stay for dinner with your parents?" She asked with a grin and he groaned, "No..."

"Why? It wasn't embarrassing!"

"On your end. My mom gave me a speech and said that you were pretty."

"Well, I am so..." She joked and he chuckled, "Come on Lea, we can do anything you want. Just not this. Please." He begged leaning closer to her, his blue eyes shining brightly causing her to bite the inside of her lip. He softly pecked her lips and spoke at a whisper, "Please?"

She nodded and he pressed his lips to hers more firmly, "Thank you. It's not that I don't like you around my family I mean, they've always liked you, I just, between them and the guys badgering me about me having a girlfriend or basically everything else. I just, I like it being you and me." He added and she smiled, "I get it. It's fine."

"We can definitely do dinner with them soon, I'm not saying..."

"Garrett." She responded cutting him off and he sighed, "Ok shutting up..."

She chuckled before leaning in and kissing him, "You're so freakin' cute."

He rolled his eyes, "Yes, just what every guy wants to be."

"When you guys get famous tons of girls will be telling you that."

"Ha." He said starting the car.

"What are you fake laughing at?"

He chuckled, "One, us getting famous and two, girls liking me."

"You should give yourself some credit! One, the band is amazing and two, you are hot. Accept it."

Garrett looked at the road trying to control his now reddening cheeks, "Am not."

"Are so."

"You must really like me because you've become delusional."

She laughed, "I have not."

He nodded and she leaned over and kissed his cheek, "You're my boyfriend. I'm allowed to think you're hot."

"Well, I think you're hot too so I guess we are even."

She nodded with a smile and he grabbed her hand. He was glad they were together. It didn't make him as nervous to touch her.

He brought her hand to his lips and placed a gentle kiss on the top, "How about we go get some ice cream and by that time it should be dark enough."

"Garrett! Just tell me..."

"No."

She frowned and he couldn't help but chuckle as they parked in front of the ice cream shop.

"Mean..."

"Me? Ha." He said as they got out and he met her in front of the car.

She nodded and he grabbed her waist pulling her to him, "Can I have a kiss?"

She nodded and he pressed his lips to hers softly.

A grin hit his lips and she grabbed his shirt, "Come on."

He frowned and let her drag him inside, "Why don't you want to kiss me?"

She chuckled, "I do, but I want ice cream."

He grabbed her as they stood in line and kissed her cheek, "Fine."

They ordered two cones and went to sit outside. One, because it for once felt good out and two, so they could be alone.

"Look, just try it." He said holding his cone to her mouth as she shook her head furiously.

"Why?! It's just marshmellows in it! It's good."

"Weird combination."

"Try it." He said narrowing his eyes at her and she shook her head no before licking her vanilla cone.

"Try itttt." He whined making his ice cream hit her nose and her mouth fell open. He smiled innocently and she glared at him.

"Oh no you didn't."

He grinned, "Opps?"

She rolled her eyes before shrugging and licking her ice crream he watched her with a grin.

"Ok I'm done." She said before she smeared the rest onto hi cheek.

"Leah!"

She giggled before taking off down the side walk. He threw his cone to the ground and ran after her. He of course reached her in no time and she squealed as he wrapped his arms around her from behind. He chuckled and rubbed his cheek against her causing her to scream.

"Eww!"

He laughed and she glared at him, "Now I'm sticky!"

"And I'm not?!"

She crossed her arms and he pulled her to him. He kissed her cheek gently, "Well you taste good at least."

"Mhm." She mumbled and he kissed down to her lips, "I'm sorry. I did start it."

"I know you did."

He chuckled, "Forgive me?" He asked his blue eyes making her melt instantly. She nodded and he used the napkin he had been holding to wipe the ice cream from her cheek.

"There. Is it sticky?" He asked wiping his own cheek. She shook her head no and he pecked her lips, "Good. Come on. We got something to do."

A smile hit his lips as he watched the girl sprint to the car eagerly. Everything she did he found himself growing more fond of her. In fact he on several occasions wanted to just tell her that he loved her and that he had since he was 10. But he didn't want to freak her out since he just got her, but his heart was filled to the brim with love for her and he hated having to hold it in.
