Let Go.

I got it like that

“So casual?” Luna asked as we waited for new customers.
“Yep.” I nodded tired from getting up at six to work.
“Sounds modern.” Luna smiled.
“Whatever, I still haven’t talked to my mom, thank god.” I smiled ta the fact she had been working a lot.
“Oh you can run from it, but eventually it’s going to catch up with you.” Luna shook her head.
“Well, there goes being positive.” I mocked her.
“So you still haven’t heard from Carter?” Luna inquired.
“No, I don’t expect him to call, I don’t blame him, and I know I treated him bad.” I admitted.
“I guess yeah.” She finished the conversation seeing a customer at the front.
After work I made my way home, I got a text from Carter, saying to call him. I felt my hands start to get sweaty. I picked up my phone calling him.
“Hey Emma.” His voice rang through the phone.
“Hey.” I answered back.
“Look I wanted to apologize, for what I said, about your mom, which was uncalled for.” He explained quickly, sounding as if he almost ran out of breath.
“No, it’s fine, the whole Travis thing, was wrong.” I drove and spoke.
“So already huh?” he asked sighing.
“What?” I was confused, my eyebrows furrowed together.
“He’s got you huh?” he asked as if it was the most public thing.
“Not really, were casual.” I explained emphasizing the word casual.
“Ah, you mean he won’t settle for you huh?” he responded smugly.
“Alright well, good talking to you, but I really don’t want to hear the rest of what you have to say.” I snapped.
“Okay, bye, be careful Emma.” He said rudely, hanging up.
I rolled my eyes hanging up, as well. And just when the day couldn’t get worse my mom’s car in the driveway. I texted Luna saying she jinxed my luck. I walked inside, seeing her sitting on the couch watching a cooking show. I headed straight to the kitchen getting a snack. I carefully looked over at my mom as I bit at an Oreo cookie.
“So, the boy is that your boyfriend?” My mom broke the silence.
“No, well kind of, were casual.” I answered truthfully.
“So you just have sex?” she asked cynically.
“No, mom, we don’t.” I answered already getting annoyed.
“That’s not what it looked like.” She huffed.
“Alright well, whatever.” I shrugged and grunted, without another word I headed up to my room and changed out of my work clothes.
I picked my phone up of my bed and called Travis.
“Hey you.” I smiled when he answered.
“What are you doing? He asked I heard him exhale smoke.
“Nothing, what are you doing tonight?” I asked curiously.
“Well Ima go meet with this girl.” He laughed slightly.
“Oh, yeah right.” I cleared my throat feeling awkwardly.
“Are you sure you are okay with this casual thing?” Travis asked.
“Yeah, I'm going to hang out with Luna tonight or something.” I lied.
“Alright well I gotta go get ready gotta, look fucking hot.” He joked and hung up.
For some reason I felt something stir inside.
