The Duchess

After the death of her father, Charlotte's family has been left in poverty. Their only way out of the poorhouse is if Charlotte marries the Duke of Finnalia, a man who is cold, and who Charlotte suspects may be being unfaithful to her. Sentenced to a loveless marriage, Charlotte fears that she may end up like almost every other wife in her position- a shell.
