Your Love Is My Oxygen

The Question

Ronnie had came out of the shower, all dressed for the day and was about to walk back to the front of the bus. However, he stopped and turned to face me. “Corrie, can we talk about it now?” I huffed before looking at him. Let’s see if he’s going to try to make up some story. “What are you going to say? That Craig was lying? Because he wasn’t, I can tell by the look you had on your face when he said all of it, it’s the truth.” He sighed and put his stuff down, “Okay I said it. I will admit that, but please listen to me when I explain…please? By this time he had those hopeful looking eyes. I folded my arms across my chest, “Try It.” I dared him. He nodded and began to explain everything from the beginning.

It pretty much took an hour for Ronnie to explain everything. He even went back to the time when he was sent to jail. “I was a stupid teenager when I said those things. I didn’t mean them, forgive me please?” He said, more like begged by this point. I wasn’t as mad at him as I was before, but it’s a lot to process. I looked at him, “This is a lot to process…just let me have some space and time to think to myself before I make a decision.” I said. He frowned slightly and I felt bad because he just explained himself and I knew he was being honest. I spoke softly “I have to go set up my tent…I’ll see you at your set.” Ronnie looked down, and I bit my bottom lip. I was really feeling bad but he has to understand that I’m still a bit upset. I leaned up to kiss his cheek, before leaving him on the bus.

I was sitting at the Reverse Revise tent with one of the roadies who takes over my tent when I go see Falling In Reverse and other bands’ sets. Some of my friends had come by to say hi. I even had a few fans come by too, however I knew that Ronnie sent a few of them because they would hand me a bottles of Fuze Piña Colada or Nerds Rope, my two favorite things, to apologize. I knew that some of the fans knew that Ronnie and I got into a fight. I guess Ronnie must have tweeted about it. I don’t know… I haven’t been on twitter for the past few days, but I knew that our fans know how to respect our privacy. They were great fans and I definitely appreciated them. I looked at the time and saw that I had forty-five minutes before the boys go on stage, so that gave me about 30 minutes to chill here at the tent until I had to head my way over to the stage.

I decided to get up from my spot and go check out some merchandise. I told Jordan, my merch guy, my plan and that I was going to come back after the boy’s set. He nodded and shooed me away from the tent, causing me to giggle. I towards the Miss May I tent and saw that Levi Benton and his Fiancé, Jojo, was chilling. They saw me and waved for me to come over with a smile, and so I did. “Hey there, Corrie. You look like you need some Vursa gear.” Levi smiled. I couldn’t help but laugh, “You pretty much read my mind.” I looked what they had on display and I couldn’t choose what I wanted, “What would look best on me?” I asked Jojo since she was a chick like me, but Levi also helped choose the best shirts and other articles from the line that would look perfect on me. Once I paid for the merch, I made a few stops to see my friends then headed to the stage for Falling In Reverse’s set.

I arrived to the back stage and guys were waiting until their cue to run on stage. I sat down on a bench. They looked up and smiled at me. I smiled back and Ronnie walked over to me and sat on his knees in front of me. “I didn’t think you would come to our set,” He softly spoke. “I would never miss your set.” He held my hands and was about to kiss me, but they were calling the guys onto the stage. Ronnie sighed before getting up and ran to the stage. I stood up and went to watch their set.
The boys played “The Drug in Me is You” as their opening song and the crowd went wild. I couldn’t help but smile and sing along with the crowd. They played a few more songs and after they played “Good Girls Bad Guys”, Ronnie walked over to me and grabbed my hand and led me to the stage. “Ronnie what are you doing?” I asked him. He looked at me and smiled, “You’ll see.” He stopped in the middle of the stage and had me face the crowd. He smiled then spoke into his mic.

“Okay you guys. Some of you may know this beautiful woman that’s right beside me. But for those who don’t, this is my gorgeous girlfriend Corrie.” He said and the crowd went wild. He chuckled and I looked at him trying to figure out what he is trying to do. “So yesterday we had gotten into a big argument, which wouldn’t have happened if a certain vocalist, that I’m not really fond of, had minded his own fucking business.” The audience “awed” in a sad way and some of them were asking what had happened. Ronnie looked at me and I folded my arms across my chest. He looked back at the crowd and sighed.

“Well back when I was a teenager, Corrie and I were the best of friends. I was pretty popular and she wasn’t. Anyways, I used to be friends with this vocalist and I said some means things about Corrie. I told him that she would never have a chance to be with me and that I would never dater her because she was too nerdy and ugly for me to be with…” The crowd gasp and I felt a couple tears spill from my eyes. Ronnie looked at me and wiped my eyes, “I know I was an asshole back then. I only dated the stupid slutty girls back then and never saw Corrie as more than a friend, but that all changed when I went to prison. No one would visit me but her and I told her not to visit me after a while because I didn’t want her to be friends with some criminal and I didn’t want her to see me go through the hell I went through in jail. I realized then how much Corrie meant to me and that she was the only one to stick by my side…besides the guys that are with me now. It was then that I realized that I loved her more than a best friend. I wanted to tell her, but I couldn’t get in contact with Corrie. So I had to push my feelings to the side.” The audience awed again. I bit my lip and Ronnie held my hand in his as he smiled softly, “But when I got out of prison, I met this beautiful girl that’s right beside me. She reminded me of my best friend and when I found out that she was my Corrie, my feelings came back for her and I had to make her mine.” I blush and looked away, but he grabbed my chin gently and had me look at him.

“Corrie, all those horrible things I said to you in the past, I never wanted you hear them and I’m fucking sorry for saying them. I don’t love you for your looks, although you are the most beautiful woman I have ever met. I love you for you and I had come to realize that once I was sent to jail. Can you ever forgive this asshole who loves you dearly?” He asked sincerely. I looked at him then at the audience. I bit my lip but I nodded, “I forgive you, Ronnie.” He smiled and hugged me to which I hugged him back. We pulled away and I was about to walk back to the side of the stage, but Ronnie grabbed my hand and pulled it gently. “Wait I have one more thing to get off of my chest.” I nodded and faced him again. Ronnie smirked and got on his knees.

I looked at him confused. He smiled and pulled out a small box. “Corrie Danielle Wilcox, would you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?” Ronnie opened the box to show me the beautiful engagement ring. “Oh my god…” To be shock was an understatement. Tears began to well up in the brim of my eyes. The audience started chanting, “Say Yes!” I faced him and nodded, “Yes!” Ronnie slipped the ring on my finger. He picked me up and spun me around before pressing his lips to mine. The crowed cheered and Ronnie set me down. He grabbed the mic, “Now that I am the happiest man in the world. Wolf pack, let’s finish this set with ‘Raised By The Wolves’!!!” Ronnie screamed and the band began playing and I sang with my fiancé.
