The Future is Now

-Fast forward to saturday-
Its been a few days since Melinda lost the baby, ive seen her but i havnt seen Jack. Its really weird. She says hes not dealing well which shocked me. Usually its the mother that takes it the hardest. I got up and took a fast shower and then went to the kitchen, Sophie was cooking. I walked over to her and sat on the counter.

"Hey babe" i said

"Hey" she said

"So wheres the twins?" i asked

"In the livingroom watching tv" she said

"Oh okay" i said

"Mhmm" she said as there was a knock on the door

"I'll get it" Casey said

"No Casey let me" i said and went to go into the livingroom but she opened the door, i looked in the livingroom and it was Melinda

"Auntie Melinda!" Casey said

"Hey you guys, wheres your parents?" Melinda said

"In here" i said

"Oh hey" she said and walked into the kitchen

"Hey" i said

"Hey Sophie" she said

"Hey wheres the husband?" Sophie said

"At home, hes like really depressed. I cant be around that" Melinda said

"Yeah i cant believe your handling this better then him" Sophie said

"Well i mean i do cry. Im deffinetly upset still but not as upset as Jack. I just keep thinking that we'll be able to try again soon and it'll work and we'll have our baby. I think thats what keeps me upbeat" Melinda said

"Thats good" Sophie said

"Yep" Melinda said

"So is he like doing anything at all?" i said

"Nope. Infact i was hoping you and Rian and Zack could take him out. Do like a guys night or somthing. Anything to get him out of the house!" she laughed

"Yeah totally. Rian and me were talking last night, they have a new air hockey table at his house and he was saying somthing about how we all need to get together and like drink and basically just hangout. Maybe we can do that tonight. I'll call him" i said

"Yes!. I love your smart thinking!" she said

I called Rian and he agreed we needed to have a guys night tonight. I called Zack and he said he was in. Later that day i picked up Zack and we went to Jacks house to get him, i never called Jack about hanging out at Rians but oh well. We got to the house and just walked in, i didnt see him anywhere.

"Jacky!" i yelled and it was quiet

"Jack!" Zack yelled

"What?" Jack said walking into the livingroom

"Where the hell were you" i said

"Bathroom" he said looking at me weird

"Oh. Well come on were going to Rians" i said

"But i dont wanna" he said

"To bad, i promised Melinda we'd get you out of the house. So come on!" i said grabbing him and his shoes and i dragged him with me

We went to Rians house and Jack was to quiet, it really bothered me considering hes always so loud. He didnt even really hangout with us he just sat on the couch with Avery and they talked while watching some girly movie. Not what i had in mind for him but atleast hes socializing. A little while later i grabbed Jack and Avery to bring them to the kitchen, we were making drinks. Jack pulled away annoyed.

"Alex, whats the deal?!, why are you dragging us along with you!" he said

"Were gonna drink, cheer up it'll be oodles of fun" i said and we went to the kitchen

"What are you making?" Avery asked Rian

"Yummy stuff, try" he said handing a cup to her

"Oh wow, thats so freaking strong" she said taking a sip and then started coughing

"Whats in it?" i asked

"Lemonade with tequila and whisky. I didnt think it'd be good, its actually pretty yummy" he said

"Sounds good. I can only have a little of it unfortunatly, im driving home" i said

"Here" Avery said passing me the cup and i took a sip

"Woah" i said

"Mhmm" she said

"Here Jack. You need to loosen up, drink away sunshine" i said passing the cup to him and he looked at me weird and drank some

"You guys are aware thats how mono in spread right?" Zack said and i shrugged

The rest of the night was fun, Jack got pretty drunk so he wasnt a depressing mess. Jack is very affectionate when hes drunk so he kept telling me he loved me. Me and Avery were the only ones that didnt actually drink alot, shes not a drinker. While me and her were talking Jack came over to us.

"Alex, Avery. I love you guys" Jack said putting his arm around me almost making me fall

"I love you to, wow are you drunk" i said

"Yes i am" he said

"What the hell did you drink?" Avery asked him

"Well i did drink like half a bottle of tequila" he said

"Really!?, wow. Your cut off for the rest of the night" i said

"No!" he said

"Yes, we dont need you puking all over yourself" i said

"I wont" he said slurring

"You will, your the drunkest of them all. Your freaking wasted" i said

"Screw you" he said

"Okay you need to go home" i said

"I dont wanna!" Jack said

"Yes. Come on Zack we gotta take drunky over here home" i said

"Okay" Zack said, Zack wasnt to drunk

We left and i drove. Jack sat in the passenger seat and Zack sat in the back, the ride was surprisingly quiet. Jack had passed out when we got in the car. After i dropped off Zack i took Jack home, i walked him inside and Melinda was sitting on the couch. She looked at us weird.

"Oh wow. Is he drunk?" she asked

"More like the most wasted hes ever been" i said

"Oh" she said

"Melinda, im sorry our baby died. It was my fault!. I didnt help take care of it. Im such a dick" Jack said and i looked over at Melinda who had tears in her eyes

"Jack it wasnt anyones fault" i said and i had this feeling he got wasted to get rid of the sadness

"It was mine!" he said

"No it wasnt. Lets go to bed" i said trying to take him to bed

"Alex, wait" he stopped me

"What?" i said

"Im gonna be sick" he said and ran off to the bathroom and i sighed and looked over at Melinda who looked upset

"Hes just wasted he doesnt know what hes saying" i said

"Mhmm" she said

"I should go, night" i said and went over to hug her and then i left
