What Is Going on Here?

A few days had past and everything seemed to be going good. Matt and Rebekah wanted Brian and I to have lunch with them so we met them at a diner in town. Bekah had been spending a lot of time with Matt lately, the same with Brian and I. I ordered a salad, Brian ordered a burger. I have noticed that he loves to eat. We had just got our food when I looked up and saw Stephen walking in the door. Rebekah noticed the look on my face and then she saw who had just walked through the door. She excused herself and walked over to him. For all Brian knew Stephen was her brother. She pulled him outside and talked to him.
"Please just leave Tiff alone and move on." She said.
"I can't move on Bekah I was going to ask her to marry me. Now she is with some trashy guy. I can't let her be with someone like him."
"He is not trashy, and she's happy with him. I am not saying that she wasn't happy with you, but she met someone new and she really likes him."
He waited for her to finish.
"If you say you still love her and you mean it, then you will let her be happy and move on."
He shook his head.
"I do still love her. I never stopped loving her, but I can't let her be with someone like that."
"Stephen yo--"
"I can't do this to her I know. I just need to talk to her." He said interrupting what she had to say.
"I don't think that would be a good idea."
"Why not?"
"Just wait. Let us finish our lunch and then i'll have her call you."
"Fine, but if she doesn't call then I will find her."
"Ok. I promise i'll have her call you."
He left and she walked back into the diner.
"Sorry, brother problems." She said as she sat back down at the table.
I smiled.
After we ate we all went back to Matt's house. Bekah told me that she told Stephen I would call him. So I walked outside and called him. He didn't answer so I left him a voice mail telling him to meet me at my house tonight so that I could explain everything.
I came back inside and saw that Zacky and Johnny were here.
They smiled up at me.
I smiled back and walked over to wear Brian was and sat down.
Rebekah looked at me like she wanted to know what happened on the phone and I just shook my head. Zacky kept going on and on about some girl he wanted to fuck and Matt kept messing with Johnny. Hours had passed and before I knew it I needed to get home and meet up with Stephen to try to straighten things out. Brian had to drive me to his house so I could get my car. He wanted me to stay but I couldn't. I gave him a kiss before leaving and then headed home.
"Ok so let me get this straight. You broke up with me for someone like that dude?" Stephen said.
"Yes, and will you please just be grown up about it and move on?"
"The only reason why I will try is because I still love you, and just like Bekah told me earlier I just want you to be happy."
"Thank you."
"Oh and I was going to ask you to marry me, before all this happened."
I didn't say anything. I don't even think I would've said yes even if I had never ended up with Brian.
Just as soon as Stephen was leaving Brian showed up.
"I decided I would come to you since you couldn't stay." Brian said to me.
I smiled and Stephen gave him a dirty look but Brian didn't notice.
Oh hey you're Rebekah's brother right?" Brian said.
"No. I'm the one Tiff dumped to be with you." Stephen said.
It's going to be a long night. Why me?
