The Ballad of Hua Mulan

Mulan watched her aging father grow weaker and weaker everyday, so when she went to town and saw the proclamation calling for one male from every family to come and fight against the invading armies of the Rouran's, she knew her father wouldn't even make it through boot camp, let alone be able to fight in the war. Her little brother was only eight, too young for the army, so Mulan decided to go and fight in her father's place, even thought it meant risking her own life if she were to be discovered.
