Zack kissed Maria’s neck again and again until she couldn’t help but moan. “Zack, come on we need to get dressed” Zack let his fingers explore Maria’s thighs.

“Let’s just stay for a little longer” he told her. Maria giggled. They kissed.

Downstairs of Maria’s house, Maria’s mom let her in. “Maria’s upstairs in her room with Zack” she told her. Lindsey smiled. Ever since Kaci died she needed someone, and now she had Maria and Jill.

Lindsey opened the door to Maria’s room and saw Zack on top of her, and they were having sex.

“Holy fuck” she said. she closed the door quickly. First of all, Who had the decency to have sex while their parents were home? Second, why would Maria of all people, the little supposedly pure Maria be having sex with Zack?

Maria got up and put a shirt on. “Lindsey” she went into the hall. “Please tell me it looked better”

“You’re fucking Zack” Lindsey said. “You’re fucking Zack secretly behind Jill’s back. Now as much as I hated Jill before we became friends, I respected her. Why would you do this?”

“She’s over him, she likes Steve now” Maria said.

“Yeah, but…whatever” Lindsey left. On her way out she said to her mom. “Do you know what your daughter’s doing up there?” Maria’s mom ran upstairs, then screamed. Lindsey smirked.

Zack walked up to Lindsey in the halls the next school day, he wasn’t angry he was just concerned. He still had feelings for Jill, but if Lindsey told then he would never have a shot with Jill again.

“Did you…”

“No” she interrupted. “I didn’t say anything to Jill, I plan on saying something, though”

“Why? What will keep you from saying something” Lindsey was confused.

“I’m going to tell her when I’m ready, and you don’t have any influence on my decision” Lindsey told him. “She deserves to know the truth, even if you guys aren’t technically together any more—you know she likes Steve”

“Yeah and I don’t want to know that”

“Well you do, and if it hurts you, it’ll hurt her” Lindsey walked away. She didn’t know how she was going to tell Jill, but she was going to. At least wait a few months, Maria didn’t waste anytime. That’s friendship for you.

Christian walked home from school. Home meaning Brandon’s house. Kaya was right, everything was turning around for him.

He got halfway home when he saw Maria and Zack standing on the corner of the street. They looked pretty into each other.

His heart broke. He didn’t think he didn’t have a chance with her anymore, but the feelings were still there. But he couldn’t help but think, Jill didn’t have Zack, he didn’t have Maria, so maybe there’s something there.

“Maybe I can’t get everything I want” he said. “Maybe I need to stop waiting around for people when I can just have them now…I need to get over Kaci” he told himself. He planned on taking the necessary steps to doing so.

Jill and Lindsey made their way to the mall to do some shopping before Homecoming. “I need a new dress, sparkly enough to grab Steve’s attention…what color looks good on me best?”

“Red” Lindsey told her. “You could pull off something sparkly though”

“Sexy in red, I like that idea” she smiled. “You would look lovely in black, with your hair in a high pony”

They continued walking. “I’m not much of a dance person, I don’t think I’m going”

“Aw, no, come please, Maria isn’t going she’s going to be out of town” Lindsey wanted to say something about the whole Zaria affair, but she kept it secret. “I seriously need something that will blow Steve away. I’m way better then Kaya”

Lindsey and Jill stopped walking when they saw Maria and Zack. Yup, Maria and Zack in the mall flirting with each other in the food court.

“I can’t believe this” Jill said. “What the fuck is going on”

“I have no idea” Lindsey lied. Jill just stood still in her place as she watched the betrayal go down.

“I can’t believe this” she said. She felt like she was going to cry, she didn’t know exactly why, though. Physically she felt detached from Zack, but there’s still an emotional side of her that misses him. “Let’s go” Jill said. “I need to get out of here”

“No” Lindsey demanded. “Go over there and tell her how you feel” Jill kept shaking her head. Lindsey held her hand. “Maybe you’ll feel better”

Jill continuously shook her head. Eventually Lindsey dragged her over there anyways. When Jill was walking she got the courage and she knew exactly what she wanted to say.

“Oh god” Maria first said. She stood up from the table. “Jill, this isn’t what it looks like” Jill rolled her eyes.

“Oh shut up Maria” she said. Lindsey smirked. “You know what this is…you betrayed me!”

“You said you didn’t like him anymore! That you wanted Steve!”

“I don’t want Steve” Jill finally admitted. “I don’t want him at all!’ she exclaimed. “I want Zack still, and a true friend would know I’m too terrified of sex to admit it!” Jill ran off. Lindsey shook her head at Maria and Zack and ran off.

Jill ran outside. She fell to the pavement and cried. “When did everything go to shit?” she sobbed.
