Dancing Dead

Chapter Five

Samara concealed her Zydrate gun in her satchel and made her way down the damp dark alley. Unfortunate for her she had managed to lose track of the Assassin; with a wide grin, she sauntered her way down the catacombs of Sanitarium Island. Shadow made her way to the part of town where she had an idea he’d be. Earlier that day, Samara was able to get a hold of the paperwork and order for the next Surgery Addict that wasn’t able to pay their dues. Meaning, she would be able to catch up with her Knight in the LED Helmet. Thankfully only a few minutes later she finally stumbled upon the Repoman finishing up his work. At this point he was checking the barcode and placing the heart into the plastic bag.
“Well, well, what have we here?” Samara smirked as she leaned against the stone wall.

“Samara; what are you doing here?” His gruff voice sounded from behind his mask.

“I was looking for you.” This was like Déjà vu, much similar to last night in the alley.

“You know it’s very dangerous out here, I deliberately told you not to come out here.” At this point he unclipped his helmet. “Why were you looking for me?”

“Put it this way, and forgive me if I’m being rude; but my father went out of town, and left Amber in charge. So all in all cases, my siblings will be fighting non-stop and raising hell; so what I am implying is that if maybe, you would be able to let me stay with you for the time being?” She prayed to herself hoping he would say yes, Samara didn’t want to go back to the tower. She knew it would be a war zone, and that’s not something she would want to get herself into.

Nathan thought over his options, the pros and cons of her staying over. He was not sure if it would be the best for her to be near Shilo. But he didn’t want to turn this beautiful Largo woman away.
He finally made his decision, with a deep sigh, “You can stay with me.”

A broad grin plastered itself on Samara’s face. “Thank you so much!” The two began walking.

“Just so you know, I have five more repossessions.” He raised an eyebrow behind the illuminated goggles.

“That is fine with me.” She almost completely forgot about Graverobber, and meeting with him. “Oh! Is it possible if I am able to sneak back to the tower to grab a few personal items?” She asked, also another thing she completely forgot, packing extra clothes.

Nathan sighed, “Fine. I will meet you just outside the tower in two hours.” Then he vanished. Samara hung her head as she made her way home, she couldn’t believe she was actually going to go through this. She despised Graves, but there was something that she couldn’t comply, whatever it was that drawn her to him, it was like honey.

Tick….Tick…. Tick…..
The clock shown it was ten till, and Samara was getting annoyed. She watched Graves make his way into Amber’s chambers. By now he should be done now. Five minutes till she had to meet Nathan, at this point she gave up. Samara rushed to shove the basics in her satchel and dispose of her Z-Gun. The last thing she needed was The Repoman to find out she is a Graverobber, although she knew the process of the Repomen. She pretty much harvested from majority of their victims. So in all technicalities, they are doing business together. Except one is legal and the other is not. Shoving her tooth brush, paste, hair brush and a few other necessities into the bag, she made her way downstairs and outside. Nathan was nowhere to be seen; and this made Shadow’s heart sink. She clutched her trench coat closer around her and turned on her heals.

“Though I forgot about you?” A voice sounded from behind her.

“Nathan!” Samara couldn’t help but have a large smile on her face; she honestly thought that she was going to have to go back to the tower.

“C’mon lets go.” He began walking down the street.

During the whole time the two were walking it was silent, the only thing that you could really hear was the billboards, and the shuffling of the night cretins blending themselves into the inky darkness away from the Repoman. Samara wasn’t sure whether or not to tell Nathan about how her sister somehow managed to know everything. That is what is tearing at her, because she wasn’t sure if she would to tell him, that Nathan would turn her away due to fear of her father finding out. But if she were to lie to him, he would never forgive her.
The walk wasn’t as far as Samara thought it would be, to be quite frank, it was very short and now Samara was staring up at a large manor that stood in the middle of the island. “This is your home?” Samara was in awe.

“Yes. Is there something wrong?” He cocked his head towards her, at this point he had taken off the helmet at the coat.
“Not quite, I just always thought this place was abandoned.” She shrugged. She felt sort of ashamed to think that. But even when she first began graverobbing, the house was always dark.

“Right well, c’mon.” He opened the wrought iron gate, and made his way down the cobblestone pathway. Inside the manor was amazing, with such exquisite detail and antique furniture.
Once the door was shut and locked, Nathan turned towards her, “Stay here for a moment, I need to check on something.” He walked up the stair case and disappeared for a few minutes. Samara scanned her surroundings, just above the fireplace was a portrait of a woman who looked vaguely familiar to her, but she couldn’t quite place her finger on it.
“Samara.” Nathan stated from behind her, “Come with me please.”

“Who is that?” Samara asked, averting her eyes towards the hologram painting that was hanging above the fireplace.

Nathan hesitated for a moment, “My late wife.” She could tell there was sadness and anguish lurking in his gray eyes. So much remorse etched across his face, she herself could feel the heartbreak.

“I’m sorry.”

“It’s not your fault, it happened a long time ago.” He looked up. “Now, let me show you where you can place your bag.” He began to ascend up the staircase, with Samara in the same pursuit. He walked to a room that was at the end of a hallway to the right of the stair case. “This is my room. Make yourself comfortable. I still have a little bit more work to do.” Nathan began to exit the bedroom while Samara placed her bag on a chair.

“Wait!” He stopped to look at her. “Can I come with you?” Samara was curious on what work he had to do.

“Fine, my lab is downstairs.” After that he began to descend down the stairs to the fireplace. With the turn of a stone figuring a hidden door opened from behind the burning fireplace. Walking down a set of cement stairs into the lab, she sat on the stainless steel table as Nathan transformed himself back into the Legal Assassin. “I hope you don’t get squeamish.” He smirked from behind the surgical mask, as he pulled his final victim for the night from behind a curtain; this time the sucker was gagged and bound to a stainless steel asylum bed. With a kick of a lever, the slab fell horizontally to where the guy was only hanging by the straps.

Samara observed quietly as the Repoman spliced through the tissue. The poor guy didn’t make his payments and now he would have to sacrifice his lungs to the Largos.
“Yah know, you to the Repo in Repossess.” Samara purred.
