Ellen's New Life

Compared To Alicia, Again

That's when I felt Mikey's hand on my hip.

I put my hand on his hand, slightly trying to push it off.

But I didn't try too hard, so eventually, it would just stay there.

"Mikey..." I started.

"What?" he asked.

"I really don't think that this is a good idea," I said.

"Then what is a good idea?"

"I don't know. Just return our relationship to the stage like it was when I came to Jersey."

"That was a relationship of an uncle and his little niece. But things are not like this anymore."

"Why wouldn't they be?"

"You grew up, you changed. And I noticed it. I couldn't help but notice it."

"Notice what?"

"That you've grew from a little cute girl, to a beautiful adult woman."

"I'm not beautiful, and I'm not yet adult. I'm just 14."

"Yes, you are beautiful. And about the age, you get the point."

"Yeah, kinda."

We laughed.

"I really like you, you know," said Mikey.

"You do?"

"Yes. You're much prettier than Alicia."

"Why do you keep on mentioning her?"

"I only mention her to compare her to you."

"I don't want to be compared, to anyone."

"Then, I'll respect your wish," he said quietly, and kissed me.

This time, it was not just a family kiss on cheek.
