Just So You Know

Today is the day. Today is my audition and I’m bursting with a concoction of nervousness and excitement. All of the BTR boys came to support me as well as Jake which I thought was really sweet. Kendall had helped me pick the perfect song and I was ready….I think.

“I feel like crying, passing out, and running around all at the same time,” I said as we sat around, waiting to get called in.

“At least you don’t feel like throwing up,” James encouraged.

“Ugh, don’t say that,” I groaned, rubbing my hands over my face.

“Don’t worry baby, you’ll do great,” Jake said, rubbing my back.

“You’re definitely going to get the part,” Carlos spoke up.

“How could they say no to you!” Logan patted my knee.

“I just hope I don’t freeze up there,” I nervously bounced my leg.

”Kirsten Rodgers you’re up,” A lady announced.

All the guys wished me luck but Kendall pulled me in for a tight hug, whispering, “Don’t worry. You can do this and you’re going to get this part. Just be you and remember your dreams.”

I nodded and he gave me an encouraging smile as I headed in and the boys took a seat in the back row. I walked up to the stage and stood in front of the microphone seeing two guys, one slightly older man and a young guy with spikey blonde hair along with a woman sitting in the front row, the people I’d be giving my audition for and they intimidate me so much.

“Hello,” I smiled.

“Hey,” The younger guy smirked. “So just start when you’re ready.”

I took a deep breath and looked at all the guys in the back row and they all smiled and gave me thumbs up. I thought I would get the most comfort in my boyfriends smile but I found it in a certain green eyed boys instead. I smiled at him as he mouthed ‘you can do it’ and that gave me the confidence to start and I belted out the lyrics.

Now that I'm older, I think about it.
I was really having fun, too cool about it.
I guess mom's was predicting the future.

All the boys jumped up and started yelling and clapping, making my face burn red and then I giggled to myself as the people doing the auditions had them escorted out.

“Well Kirsten, we haven’t been that impressed with an audition like that in a while and we think you’d be perfect to play princess Jasmine in our musical Aladdin, so congratulations,” The lady told me.

I let out a scream and jumped up and down before thanking them profusely and ran out the door. When I spotted the boys outside, I quickly ran and screamed, ”I GOT THE PART!”

All of them all started yelling and we had a giant group hug with a lot of laughing and congrats. I couldn’t believe I finally got my dream and I couldn’t have gotten my dream without my best friend Kendall.
