“Are you going to find your mystery girl again?” Louis let out a heavy laugh and eyed his curly friend. Harry and Louis both waited for their orders as they stood clear of way. Harry rolled his eyes and looked out for his coffee.

“Shut up,” Harry snapped as he grabbed his warm beverage and said a pleasing thank you. He sat down with his eyes piercing through his expression. They both settled in the same place Harry and Sam mingled. He relived that memory and sipped quietly. He looked down at his pastel Converse as he played with his fingers under the table.

Louis raised an eyebrow and sat back, “Harry,” he said slowly and continued, “You fancy her, don’t you?”

Harry’s head shot up. He couldn’t help but stare back with his jaw on the ground. He was bewildered. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing from him.

“I’m right, aren’t are Haz?” Louis tilted his head and waited longer for his response. Harry stayed quiet. Louis sighed and shook his head.

Harry truthfully didn’t know. The way she treated him was genuinely different from how other girls treated him. She didn’t care about sparing others with their feelings. If she wanted to say something, she would. Sam wouldn’t miss in opportunity of getting somebody back with their type of medicine. She made him want her more with her repulsive attitude of hers. He certainly felt something that he hasn’t felt in a long time. Although it all goes back on how she practically distastes him.

“No I don’t,” Harry hopelessly tried, anxious of his next response. “I don’t like her,” he whispered mostly to himself. He couldn’t even persuade himself with that statement.

Very convincing,” Louis shook his head and added more softly, “You don’t know because you don’t want to,” he paused for a second and continued, “You’re afraid.”

“I’m not afraid,” Harry struggled with the thought.

What else was he suppose to say? He was losing with his inner thoughts.

You’re afraid one of you will get hurt. You’re afraid of taking the risk,” Louis said.

That moment, they both fell silent. Louis sipped on his beverage and took a bite out of his blueberry scone.

“That’s why you dragged me here isn’t it?” Louis asked in a mouth full and finished off his sentence, “To see her again.”

Harry shook his head and looked back down.

“Harry,” Louis looked into his eyes as he brought his head back up, “Don’t be afraid. Love won’t bite.”

Louis thought about it again and smiled, “Love bites.”

Harry cracked a half smile at how random he can get. Harry went over Louis’s wise words again and sighed tenderly.

“Anyway Harry,” Louis stated again in his serious appearance, “You can’t run away from everything life throws at you. They will eventually come running back in the long run.”

Louis and his sensible words. Harry thought as he sipped on his beverage.

Sam ran her fingers through the shelves before her. Up and down, there were stacks and stacks of novels. She couldn’t remember looking at anything like this when she was little. She felt so miniature next to this stacks of trees.

“It’s a new addition,” her grandmother peeked out. A smile crept on her face as she picked up the closest book on her little vintage desk. She walked down and continued to run her hand at the motionless volumes.

“I come here to think sometimes. One of the rooms where I feel confident and calm,” she whispered to her granddaughter. Sam looked back and smiled at her glee expression.

“I’m not quite finished with this yet,” she motioned towards the novel she selected and skimmed through it lightly. Sam looked over at it; Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Titans Curse.

“One more to go after that,” Sam chuckled and felt the lights glisten her eyes.

Her grandmother nodded and asked, “How was it?”

Sam shook her head and laughed slightly, “No a chance grandma.”

Her grandmother smiled and rolled her eyes playfully. “I love this room. You’d ought to love it as well,” she looked over at Sam and smiled, “I know you would.”

Sam nodded and took a seat on the loveseat closest to her.

“You were a cheerful child,” her grandmother brought up and smiled, “There would always be a smile on your face when I visited you.”

Sam looked down at her hands as she listened to her wise friend. Her grandmother continued, “Always jolly.”

She started to chip her old nail polish as she sustained to stare down. As she finally looked up, she felt tears stroll down her rosy cheeks. Sam couldn’t help it. Her grandmother wrapped her arms around her and brought her down to sooth her. Her tears came down more quicker however silently.

“I’m sorry sweetie for bringing it up. I shouldn’t have,” her grandmother tried.

Sam shook her head and whispered in a horrid voice, “It’s okay. You were dead-on it.”

“You’re here now, that’s what counts,” she kissed the top of Sam's head and hugged her closer.

Sam's tears started to stroll down her face more weaker. She placed a rough tissue at her nose and pulled her hair back.

Her grandmother pushed out a couple of strands out of her face and pursed her lips. “Your mother would’ve been proud of you, you know.”

Sam nodded and dabbed her waterworks carefully. She hugged her grandmother and went back to her own. She quickly ran her shower and undressed herself.

Sam couldn’t help but think about her lifeless mother. She remembered the kisses she gave her. She remember that flawless smile of hers. Sam remembered it all. Tears began running down her structure as she cut the water short. And then her father, her abusive father. Now, that was a different story.

That night she awoke moist in her bed. She flipped to the opposite side with her eyes wide open and listened to the night life. Sam recalled her dream and sighed loudly, only for her to caution desperately.

"I hate you," I tried to sound precise and firm, except my thoughts were persuading the fight.

I love you.

"Fuck you."

Love me back.

You just can’t hide what’s already out.

That whole night, Sam felt the silent aches of her heart.
