Should Have Kissed You at the Park

TAYLOR POV

The show was great. I was really proud of Chris. The arena was loud with fans singing along with him. Just to see the smile on his face and feel all the love in the arena made my heart smile. When he performed “Take You Down”, I’d be lying if I said that it didn’t bother me a little, because it really did, but I knew it was just for show.

“That doesn’t bother you?” Cai leaned over and asked me during that performance

“Not really” I shook my head

“You better than me bestie, I’d be pissed”

“Naw, I’m not upset because I know it’s all just for show, plus he comes home to me, and I get the REAL thing every night, so I’m not bothered at all, in fact, it’s kinda turning me on” I laughed

“Eewww, TMI you lil freak” she nudged me

“What? Hey, it’s been a while”

“I don’t care to hear details, thank you very much” she blushed and turned her attention back to the stage. When Chris looked in my direction afterwards, I seductively bit my bottom lip and gave him a wink , causing the most beautiful dimply smile to come across his face. I think he even turned red a little.

“Umm, ya’ll are nasty” Cai laughed playfully hitting my arm

“What? What I do?” I defended

“You know what you did nastiness, I saw you”

“Hey, I was just smiling at him” I shrugged

“Mmhmm” she nodded before turning around to scream as the lights lowered.

************* Half Hour Later *************

When Chris finished his last song of the night “Beautiful People”, I was standing backstage with a towel and a bottle of water. When he saw me, a big smile crossed his face. He walked up to me and scooped me up in his arms, hugging me.

“Babbyyy” I giggled as he quickly lifted my feet up off the floor “You’re sweaty”

“I thought you liked me sweaty” he whispered in my ear, softly nipping it as he put me down

“I do, but only in the bedroom” I kissed his lips “Here” I handed him the bottle of water

“Thanks babe” he took the bottle of water as I wiped his forehead. I threw the towel over my shoulder and he grabbed my hand as we walked back to the dressing room. His dressing room was packed with people; they congratulated him on a great show and told him how much they loved it. I looked up at him and he had a nervous look on his face.

“Where’s Matt?”

“He’s in the restroom” Justin replied

“Oh ok” Chris’s face relieved

“That was a great show Chris” Cai smiled

“Thanks Caitlin, I’m glad ya’ll liked it”

“Yeah, it was awesome” Matthew exclaimed coming from the restroom.

“You liked it? Did you have fun?” Chris kneeled down to his level as Matthew just shook his head and smiled

My brother and Tammy headed out for the club. Chris headed into the restroom to change clothes.

“Babe, I’m going to head out to the bus and get Matthew ready for bed, it’s getting late” I said as I slowly walking in the restroom. I bit my bottom lip and smiled when I saw him standing in nothing but his black boxer briefs, a smirk came across his lips

“You like what you see?”

“Hell yeah, hell yeah, fuckin right” I sang as he walked up to me

“You are so silly” he laughed wrapping his arms around my waist, as I wrapped mine around his torso, he softly kissed my forehead.

“I was dead ass serious, and I’ll show you just how much I like it later on tonight” I smiled “right now, I have to go put my little man to bed, while my big one gets ready to party”

“Mkay” he pecked my cheek before letting me go.

“C’mon Matty” I called as I headed out the restroom door.

“Where we going?” he questioned

“It’s getting late, I gotta get you ready for bed”

“Is Chris coming too?”

“Yeah baby, he’ll be on the bus in a few minutes, he’s changing right now” I smiled down at my angel taking his hand and leading him towards the buses. I pushed open the doors of the bus open. Austin and Trell were sitting on their bunk beds talking.

“I just don’t know what Chris sees in her” Austin mumbled under his breath to Twon

“You too young to even BEGIN to understand too” I replied not bothering to look at either of them. Austin barely even knows me to be passing judgment.

“Knock Knock” Cai called as she stepped up on the bus

“Back here bestie” I called from Chris’s room where I was pulling Matthew’s PJs out of his duffle bag

“Now that’s who Chris should be trying to get with, the cute lil yella” Austin told Twon as Caitlin passed them.

“Excuse me?” Cai backs down for NOBODY

“Naw ma, I was just admiring you, that’s all. You know you fine as hell” Austin stood up walking towards Cai

“Yes, and my man knows it too. Chris is with the PERFECT girl, they don’t come any better than Taylor!” she replied back

“I mean she might be, but you know us light skinned people have to stick together” he smiled

“WHAT THE HELL kinda fuckery is that? I EVER hear you’ve disrespected my best friend in ANY way, PLEASE believe I will be the LAST person on Earth that you want to see” she replied stepping to him

“My bad ma, I didn’t mean any disrespect” he took a step back, throwing his hands in the air “Twon lets go”

“Hey chica, you okay?” Caitlin asked as she entered the room

“Yeah, I’m good. He just let his ignorance show, plus not everybody is going to like me, so you know it’s whateva. Dust the hatas off” I smiled brushing off my shoulders. “Seriously, I really am okay. I love the skin that God put me in, it makes me who I am, a strong and proud black woman” I smiled

“And that you definitely are. Anyway, I came to let you know that I’m getting ready to head out and I’ll see you at the club”

“Ok cool. I’m about to get Matthew ready for bed and lay down for a few minutes until Chris gets on, then I’m going to get ready. I’ll see you there”

“Matthew give me hug” she leaned over to hug Matt “You be good okay. I’m gonna miss you”

“I’m gonna miss you too Aunt Cai” he smiled taking the PJs I had pulled out for him

“Go take your shower” I said pushing him out the door

“Bye Matty”

“Bye Aunt Cai” he smiled

“Ok latas doll!!!” she said as she headed back for the front of the bus

“Latas!!!”

Matthew took his shower and came out. I told him to go in the room and put on his pajamas.

“Hey Tay, I’ll be right outside if you need anything” Pat said before heading off the bus

“Ok, thanks BP” I smiled calling him by the nick name that I had given him, which really wasn’t a nickname it was just his initials. “Ok bubba, climb up in the bunk” I smiled

“I have to sleep out here by myself?” Matthew asked, his eyes wide

“Well yeah baby, it’s like at home when you sleep upstairs in your room”

“But what if I roll over and fall out, or if we hit a bump or something and I fall out?” he asked

“You won’t fall out baby, if you want, you can ask Austin or Twon if they would take the top bunk” I smiled

“I don’t think they’ll do it, but I’ll ask them” he replied “Can I lay down with you until I go to sleep?”

“Yeah baby, you can lay down in here until you fall asleep, I’ll have Chris put you in your bed when he gets back, unless you want to go on Mama J’s bus later”

“But if I go on her bus, I won’t see you when I wake up” he said climbing in the bed to lay down

“Ok, you can stay on here then” I kicked off my shoes and climbed in the bed next to him “Say your prayers”

Matthew said his prayers and gave me a kiss “Good night mama” he smiled

“Good night baby” I kissed his forehead before laying on the pillow next to him. About 10 minutes later, when I had fallen asleep, Chris climbed into bed and wrapped his arms around me and Matthew.
“Mmm, hey baby” I smiled in my sleep as I draped my arm over the one he had wrapped around me and Matthew

“Hey” he whispered

“Don’t you need to get ready for the club?”

“I will when we get there, I’m just gonna take a quick nap with you and Matt right now” he whispered softly against my neck before softly kissing it.

I scooted back and snuggled up against his chest, pulling Matthew closer to us, or at least as close as we could get on the queen sized bed (which is much smaller than the king size that me and Chris sleep in at home). I felt Chris’s relax against mine and I knew that he was smiling. You see Chris is the type of person that smiles from the inside out, and to be able to feel that, is an awesome thing.

“What are you smiling about?” I asked

“Nothing, just thinking about something, that’s all”

“What you thinking about Maury?”

“The last family movie night that we had, that’s all”

“The night we watched the Cars and Toy Story movies, then you and Matt decided to play the Toy Story3 game on the Wii” I quietly laughed so that just my body shook up against his, trying not to wake up Matthew, which was easy considering he slept like a rock

“Yeah, and we ended up staying up to like 3 in the morning and all of us slept in that morning”

“Yeah, that was a fun night” I smiled remembering how him and Matthew were knocked out on the couch when I got up to go get in the bed. They looked so cute and peaceful that I didn’t have the heart to wake them up, and neither did Cai, who was getting ready to leave for the studio when I got up that morning.

It was a few minutes before the buses pulled out of the arena, and by the time they did, the 3 of us were damn near sound asleep. A knock on the door woke me and Chris. I groggily turned my head to face the door as Chris let them know it was okay to come in.

“My bad Chris, I don’t mean to disturb you, but we just exited for the club” Pat said through a barley cracked door.

“It’s cool, you can come in BP” I said calling Pat by the nick name that I had given him.

“I’m not trying to disturb ya’ll” he chuckled

“Shut up Pat, we were just taking a nap, Matt’s in here” Chris laughed as Pat slowly ducked his head in the door making me laugh

“Hey, I’m just checking, I’m not trying to walk in on anything” he chuckled

“You good” I set up on my elbows.
“Do you want me to put Matty in his bunk?” he offered stepping into the room

“Yes, would you please, but can you put him on a bottom bunk? He’s scared that he’s gonna fall out if we hit a bump” I chuckled

“It’s cool Pat, I got him” Chris said getting out of the bed

“You sure CB?”

“Yeah, I’ll take him, I’m used to it” he replied as he rounded the bed and picked up Matthew from laying next to me. He picked up Matthew and followed Pat out of the room, he closed the door behind him. I rolled over and closed my eyes for a few more minutes.

CHRIS POV

I picked up Matthew from out of our bed and took him to lay down in one of the bunks. There were eight bunks on the bus, and I had made sure to save one for him when we first left. I laid him down on the bottom bunk and pulled the covers up over his shoulders as he moved around to get comfortable. I put his stuffed Elmo in the bed with him; I couldn’t help but smile watching him sleep. He was such a good kid, and I was glad that Donovan was trying to do right by him.

“CB, lemme hollatcha for a minute” Pat said nodding for me to head closer to the front lil lounge area of the bus.

“What’s up Pat?”

“Look, I like Taylor, she is one of the coolest chicks that you’ve dated. She’s drama free, sweet, caring, and perfect for you” he started

“Pat, you tryin get at my girl” I chuckled with a look that was part confusion and part humor

“Naw man, I’m just telling you this because I know she won’t say anything about it, because that’s just the kind of person she is”

“Ok, what is it then?”

“Now, you know I’ve been with you since day 1 and I always got your back, and your family’s” he replied; I nodded my head in agreement

“Well, you need to talk to Austin and Twon” he simply replied

“Why, what happened?” Pat had never said anything like this to me before, he always had my back and my family’s back before, so I needed to know where this was coming from. I mean Taylor and Matthew are my family too, so I guess in a way, he was having their back

“Austin made a few remarks about not knowing what you see in Taylor, that she’s cool and all, and then made a comment to Caitlin that you should be with her, because the ‘yella people’ have to stick together” he said as I took a seat across the bus from him.

“What? What was that supposed to mean?”

“Man, you know what that meant. You know Taylor is not like most girls that you’ve dated, so” he shrugged as Taylor came up to the front of the bus

“Baby, don’t worry about it, it’s no big deal” she said sitting down on my lap. I wrapped my arms around her waist and rested my head against her chest; she softly pecked my head “thanks for looking out for me BP, but it’s no big deal. Austin’s young, he has a lot to learn. I turn my back on ignorance and negativity” she smiled at Pat

“Baby, it’s not alright” I started raising my head from her chest, leaning back so that I could look at her
“that’s disrespectful, not only to you but to me as well. Who I chose to be with is my business, it’s not their place to pass judgment. They need to stay in their own lane” I tried not to let my frustration sound through my voice, but I couldn’t help it.

“Maury, all that matters is me and you; how we feel about each other. Nobody can tell us how to feel and who we should love. I’m with you not them” she said softly rubbing her hands over my head and down back.

“I know baby” I was starting to calm down thanks to Taylor. “I still need to talk to them, because you’re not going anywhere and if they don’t start showing some type of respect like ASAP, it’s going to be a looonnnggg trip”

“Plus CB, they don’t really know Taylor yet, once they get to know her and see exactly what type of person she is and just how cool she is, they’ll understand why you love her so much” Pat smiled

“Yeah, they’ll see how AWESOME I am” she pretended to boost, and making me laugh because she’s such and humble person.

“Yeah, they’ll see” I smiled pecking her lips.

“I gotta go get ready, we’ll be there in a minute” she said standing from the spot she was sitting in on my lap.

“I’ll help you “ I smiled bright to Pat and chuncked up deuces, he just laughed and shook his head as I turned to follow Taylor into the room.

******************* Two Hours Later *******************

The Spot was packed. Usually me and Bow through 2 separate after parties, but since this was home and I had ownership in the club, it was easier then dealing with a promoter and all that other bullshit, we could just promote the party like we did all of the other events that happened at the club. Just about everybody in Atlanta was in there. It was a good thing that the club was huge. I saw a couple of the girls from the M&G there, at least the ones that were old enough to get in. The whole crew was there, just hanging out in the VIP lounge. Taylor and Justin had added a few pool tables around the club, 2 in the VIP lounge and 3 down on the main floor. Taylor was shooting pool with
Drake and Justin across the room, I was sitting on the oversized couch talking to Bow, Wayne, Tyga, and Trey. Taylor looked sexy as hell in her purple corset and skin tight black jeans. Watching her lean over the table to take her shot, my imagination took control of me. I pictured laying her on the table and devouring her.

“Breezy, did you hear what I said” Trey said bringing me out of my thoughts

“My bad dawg, what you say” I turned to look at him

“I said that show was FIYA” he repeated slowly with widened eyes

“Man, go over there with your girl” Bow chuckled shaking his head “Dude, if my girl looked as sexy as Tay does in that outfit, I’d be all over her” he finished licking his lips as he watched her

“Nigga, that’s my girl, stop looking at her like that” I laughed throwing a peanut at him

“What dawg, I’m just saying, you got one of the baddest girls in this bitch” he smiled turning to me

“Yeah, I guess I do” I smiled “I’mma catch up with ya’ll later” I said standing to go with my girl. Austin and Twon were at the bar talking to some girls that I didn’t recognize, probably some cluck clucks as Taylor called chicken heads; I walked up to them. I know Taylor told me to leave it alone, but they needed to know that I knew what happened and what was said, and that they were going to respect my girl and our relationship.

“Sup cuz” Austin said I approached them. The girls they were talking to just smiled at me, which I returned with a nod, they said that they were going to the restroom and would be back.

“Sup ya’ll” I nodded to them

“Dude, your club is HOT” Twon smiled looking around the club

“Thanks. Look, I need to talk to ya’ll”

“Sup?” Twon asked

“Look, I don’t appreciate the way ya’ll treated Taylor earlier today. You don’t even know her, and you’re already placing judgment on her, and that ain’t cool. Who are you to judge her or anybody for that matter before you’ve even taken the time to get to know them. If ya’ll have a problem with her, then you have a problem with me. Taylor makes me happy and if ya’ll can’t see that, then you can stay in VA when we get there. I love her, inside and out. No, she may not be like the other girls I’ve dated, she’s not a yellow model chick with green eyes. She’s so much better. Tootie and Tay are the same complexion and I’ve never heard you talk about her like I heard you talk about Taylor.”

“Chris, we’re just looking out for you. Girls like Taylor like to get all ghetto and wanna fight and act stupid out in public. I mean look at her, she’s over there flirting with one of your best friends, hugging up him and laughing all over him, I mean what the fuck, she’s even doing it in your face” Austin nodded with a look of disgust, in the direction of the pool table where she was playing. “Plus Tootie is family, we don’t know this girl” he finished

I laughed as I watched my girl play and act silly with her brother. I turned back to Austin, “Ass, Justin is her brother! She’s laughing and playing with her brother! Look, I’m not going to say it again, you can either get to know her before passing judgment based on the cover, or keep your ass in VA when we get there” I said “plus, since you brought it up, Taylor is neither loud nor ghetto, my last 2 girlfriends were way worse, hell one of them got me on papers, and I never saw you trying to have my back then, so why you worried about it now?” I finished, pushing myself off of the bar and heading in the direction of Taylor.

I walked up to her as she leaned over to measure/judged her shot, wrapping my arms around her waist. I leaned in and pecked her neck

“Baby, I’m trying to make this shot” she whined as I nibbled on her ear

“If only you knew what I wanted to do to you on this table” I whispered in her ear causing a big smile to spread across her face

“Mmmm, I bet I already know” she giggled as I kissed her neck

“Ummm are we playing or do ya’ll need to borrow the table for a minute, I mean we can leave the VIP and let ya’ll have it for a few minutes” Justin laughed

“Shut up Jus, and take this ass whippin you’re about to get” Taylor laughed as I stepped out of the way for her to take her last shot “8 ball corner pocket” she said pointing her queue stick to the right corner pocket, then bending over and slowly sliding the stick in and out between her index and middle fingers, I could feel my nature starting to rise as she did that, then in one quick shot, she lightly tapped the queue ball causing it to sharply hit the 8 ball making it roll into the right corner pocket, just the way she called it.

“Damn” Justin mumbled

“What was that brother?” she teased “Give me my money” she continue to tease in her best Smokey from FRIDAY voice.

“Damn Tay, I didn’t know you played pool like that?” Drake smiled

“Me either baby”

“A girl can’t tell you all of her secrets” she smiled leaning the pool stick against the table, then walking over to me. She stood up between my legs and wrapped her arms around my torso as I wrapped mine around her waist. “You got winner remember Aubrey?” she smiled

“Yeah, I remember, but I’m rethinking it now” he chuckled

“Oh c’mon, I’ll go easy on you” she smiled resting her head on my shoulder so that she was looking at him.

“If Drizzy’s not playing, how about we play couples?” Mijo said as him and Carmen walked up

“Baby, I can barely play pool” Carmen replied

“Oh it’s cool girl, neither can I” Taylor smiled looking at me. It took everything I had not to laugh at her comment, seeing as she had just beat Justin in a game, and Justin’s pretty good. I’ve played Justin a few times and he’s no push over on the green table.

“Oh ok, cool then, I’m down” Carmen smiled

Mijo took out the rack and racked the balls, when he was done I broke them. Since I broke the rack and made a solid colored ball in, that made me and Taylor solids. We all took turns, with the guys going first, then the girls. Me and Taylor finished that game in about 30 minutes.

“Baby, I think we just got hustled” Carmen laughed

“Ya’ll did! Taylor is a beast on the pool table” Justin laughed

“Tayy!” Carmen exclaimed

“My bad Car, I couldn’t help it” she laughed as I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her close. We talked for a few minutes about the show and what the next week or so was going to be like. I admitted to being glad to be back in VA for a few days. LA was cool to live in, but I couldn’t go anywhere because there was always paparazzi somewhere close by. ATL was home, it reminded me of VA, it was in the south and more laid back than LA, even though it had a lot of celebrities living there. But there was absolutely no place like home.

“Baby, I’m going to get something to drink, did you want anything?” Taylor whispered in my ear before pushing herself forward from the position she had taken between my legs

“Yeah, you” I smiled back

“I bet you do” she blushed before turning and walking off. I watched her as she walked up to the bar and gave Amber her order before rejoining the conversation that was going on next to me.

TERRENCE POV

I walked up the stairs to the VIP lounge which was packed. I walked around the room and spoke to everybody, but I didn’t see Taylor or Chris. I wanted to congratulate Chris on a great show, but most of all I wanted to see Taylor. It had been a few months since I had seen her and was looking forward to it too.

“What’s up twin” Trey joked coming up and giving me dap.

“Sup bruh?”

“Man, not much. I didn’t know you were in town” he replied

“Yeah, I have to tape a show tomorrow”

“The Game?” he questioned

“Yeah, I got a few episodes to tape” I smiled just as I spotted Taylor at the pool table

“Oh, that’s what’s up then. Where’s Keri?”

“Oh man, that’s over” I said trying not to stare at Taylor or even get caught staring at her

“Damn, what happened?”

“You know, lies and secrets” I turned to him

“Well, like Tyga say Secrets don’t make friends” he laughed causing me to laugh too. Tyga was the homie, but he could be so corny sometimes. I looked back over at Taylor and a smile came across my face. “Pump the brakes bruh, you know she’s taken” he said pulling my attention back to him. Shit, he caught me staring

“What are you talking about?”

“C’mon Terrence, I saw how you looked at Tay, dude you got a thing for her, but the reality is that she’s with the homie. She’s off limits man” he replied

“I know she is Trey, but I can look, I just can’t touch” I grinned

“Yeah, well, you bet not let Breezy catch you looking too hard, or your ass is fucked” he replied as we both watched Taylor walk by us heading for the bar.

“You talking about me, you ain’t no better” I frowned at him

“Man, I don’t look at Taylor like that, she’s always been just a friend, almost like a sister, PLUS she’s best friends with Nicki, I’m not gonna hurt Nicki like that”

“Yeah, but you gotta admit she looks sexy as hell tonight” I smiled as we watched her at the bar

“Hell yeah, there’s definitely NO doubt about that” he grinned “But she’s still like fam, so no touching” he finished

“Well, I’mma hollatcha later on, I’m gonna go speak to her” I smiled giving him a quick pat on the back before heading to the bar.

I walked up to the bar, as her back was to me, she leaned over the bar. Her pants so tight, that they literally laid on all of her curves. Her hair hanging long and straight down her back. She had one foot propped up on the rail at the bottom of the bar. She swayed her hips to the music being played throughout the club.

“Hey stranger” I smiled as I approached her.

She quickly turned her head in my direction and a beautiful smile came across her face “TJ, heyyy” she exclaimed as she threw her arms around my neck. I wrapped my arms around her torso, pulled her close and gave her a tight hug. “Where have you been? What are you doing here?” she asked as we came out of our embrace.

“I’ve just been working like crazy” I started “As a matter of fact, I’m in town taping a few episodes” I smiled as the bartender brought her drink.

“So, you taping for The Game?”

“Yeah...well, we start taping on Monday but I decided to come in town a few days earlier” I smiled “You look gorgeous” I eyed her up and down, a smile coming across my lips.

“Thank you. Where’s Keri?” she asked looking around the room

“Oh, I dunno” I shrugged

“How do you NOT know where your girl is?”

“Because we’re not together anymore” I shrugged

“I’m sorry to hear that. What happened?” she smiled softly

“Things I guess” I started as she got her drink “She said that she liked me, but not in that way. She still had feelings for somebody, and didn’t think it was fair to me to just continue to string me along”

“Ohh ok” she nodded “Well how long have ya’ll been broken up?”

“For about the last 3 months or so. Not too long after I saw you last, is when we broke up” I nodded

“Did she say how she still had feelings for? I mean, not that it really matters” she smiled. I knew what she was getting at, and I can’t blame her for wanting to be protective of her brother and his fiancé’

“Yeah, she told me about her and Justin in Miami. She said that it was more than just a fling for her. She was happy for Justin and Tammy, but she was still a lil upset about it” I explained

“I’m sorry, you had to find out that way, I probably should have told you about them, but I didn’t want to butt into ya’ll relationship. Plus, she told me that it was just a fling and she was over him, so I didn’t think it would have mattered. I’m so sorry TJ” she smiled sweetly

“Don’t be Tay, she lied to you about her feelings, so you had no way of really knowing…hell, I didn’t know” I replied “but Justin’s my boy and I’m happy for him, I’m not even mad about it”

“That’s good, I’m glad you’re okay. Your Cinderella will come to you soon enough” she smiled taking a sip of her beer.

“Thanks Tay” I pecked her cheek “I know she will” I smiled “Anyway, how are things with Chris?”

“Wow, they’re great. I couldn’t be any happier” she smiled looking off at him shooting pool with Mijo, while Justin and Drake watched, just talking. “Did you make it to the concert” she smiled turning her attention back to me

“Yeah, I did. He did that” I nodded as the bartender gave me my beer.

“Yeah he did. I’m glad that you were able to come out” she smiled “I’ll see you around?” she asked before walking off, as I smiled and nodding bring my beer to mouth to take a sip. I watched her hips sway left to right as she walked off to rejoin Chris at his side. When she reached him, he wrapped his arm around her waist and bulled her close, kissing her check. She handed him the extra beer in her hand and he took a sip before placing it down on the table and kissing her lips as he returned to the pool table. Taylor took a seat on the barstool that was at the lil table in the same area.

“Tread lightly bruh” Trey said pulling me out of my gaze

“Man, what are you talking about?” I questioned looking over at him

“Dawg, she’s off limits”

“I can look, I just can’t touch” I smirked turning my attention back to her

“Yeah, well, don’t look too hard, you know how Chris is” he shook his head.

“Naw, just admiring my view, that’s all” I smiled to him before taking a sip of my beer.
