Trials In Life

Donna's POV

I started to come back. My eyes wouldn't open but I could hear everything. I couldn't make out who was saying anything but their was a bunch of screaming going on.

"Someone call 911!"

"I'm on it!"

"Wake up Donna! Please! I can't lose you!"

"This is all your fault!"

"My fault! At least I didn't knock her out!"

My head started to pound as I heard the sirens get closer and closer, louder and louder. Before I knew it, I was back out.

Beep... Beep... Beep... Beep... Beep... I was awoken by a bunch of beeps. I opened by eyes and looked around. I was a tray to the right of me, a TV on the wall ahead, and a person sitting down to the left of me but my vision was to blurry to make out who it was.

"Donna?" The voice said with a worried tone. I sat up a bit and winced in pain, my head hurt so bad it was too much to handle. I slouched right back down and rubbed my eyes. I blinked a few times and glanced back to the figure. I widened my eyes and sighed as I saw Brian there with my hand in his. I snatched my hand away from him.

"Donna, I'm so fucking sorry. It was an accident I would never do that to you." I sighed and rolled over so my back was facing him. I heard him get out of the chair and walk to the other side of the bed so he could talk to me.

"Please sweetheart, listen to me." He said with a pleading tone. I closed my eyes, "Don't call me that. I'm not your sweetheart." I snapped at him. I opened my eyes and he was standing there with wide eyes that glistened in the light. I sighed, "Brian please leave." He sighed, "I'm not leaving you alone." "Then tell Matt to come in." A pissed look came to his face, "Why Matt?" "Because I said." I snapped. He shook his head and turn around. He pushed the tray out of his way and it slammed into the wall. I sighed and laid back on my back.

I closed my eyes and I saw Matt walk in, a smile crept on my face instantly. He smiled with a apologetic look. "Donna, I'm so glad you're okay. I was so worried about you." I smiled at him and open my arms. He walked over and leaned down to hug me. I held on tight, I couldn't help but feel safe in his inked up arms. He pulled away and sighed, "This is all my fault."

Courtney's POV

Brian walked out of Donna's room and he looked depressed. He plopped down next to me and sighed. He glared up at Matt, "She wants you." Matt got up and practically ran to her room.

I looked at him, "What happened?" He sighed and shook his head, "She woke up and I apologized. I called her a sweetheart trying to make her feel better and she got pissed off. 'Don't call me that. I'm not your sweetheart.' She said." I sighed, "Brian don't worry about her. She is always like this when she's mad. Once we get the chance to re-assure her of what happened I'm sure she will forgive you." He sighed, "I fucking hope so."

I sighed and then I remembered that he said she was awake. I stood up, "I'm going to go see her." "Matt's in there though." I heard Johnny say from behind me. I turned around, "And your point is?" He sighed and crossed his arms over his chest. I shook it off. I have really been being a bitch to him lately. It's just if we are such as good friends as I thought we were he should be happy that I'm finally gonna be happy with Matt.

I walked into Donna's room and I heard Matt's voice. I smiled but he sounded dead serious. I peaked my head around the curtain. I looked at Donna and her eyes widened when she saw me. I put my finger up to my lips. Matt didn't see me and I decided to listen to what he had to say.

Matt sighed, "Donna, last night I didn't want to go with Courtney on that date. I was just using her to try and make you jealous." Donna again looked at me.

She looked back to Matt, "Matt stop." He shook his head, "No! This is all my fault. I don't even like Courtney. I just want you, only you, and sometimes I have these stupid ideas that all ways result bad in the end. I really really like you Donna. I don't know what it is going to take for you to notice that."

My eyes started to fill up with tears, "S-So that's why you asked me?" I chocked out. Matt quickly turned around in his chair. His eyes widened, "Courtney..." I felt a tear run down my face and I ran out of the room.

I ran back to the guys and ran to Johnny. "Courtney what happened?" I heard Brian ask. "Matt is a fucking asshole! He was just using me to get Donna!" Brian's eyes widened, "I KNEW IT!" He stood up and started pacing.

I looked to Johnny, "Johnny, you were right all along. I'm so sorry I didn't listen to you. Matt is an asshole and I shouldn't have went. I should have stayed there with you on the bus. I'm so sorry can you ple-"

I was cut off from my rambling with Johnny's lips crushed against mine. I couldn't help but kiss him back I finally realized I had someone special here, after all he was always there for me through everything. He tried to keep me safe but I was to star-struck over Matt to notice it.

I pulled back and smiled. I looked into his eyes and he started to talk, "Courtney. It's fine, I knew how much you liked Matt and I knew it was going to be hard for me to get it through your head. But know I hope you realize it."

I smiled and pecked his lips again, "I do Johnny. I do.." He smiled and pulled me into a hug close against his chest. I couldn't help but enjoy it, he was so warm and I didn't want to let go. My eyes started to get heavy and before I knew it I was sleeping.

Donna's POV

When Courtney stormed out of the room, things got a little awkward. He was using my best friend to get to me. I looked at Matt and shook my head.

He sighed, "I'm sorry. I want you and I will do anything to get you." He smiled softly. He was a charmer and knew how to talk to the ladies. I felt terrible but I couldn't help but smile. I looked at Matt and his eyes met mine. He stood up and before I could do anything he crushed his lips against mine.

I smiled as he put his hand on my cheek. I grabbed onto the back of his head to deepen the kiss. I pulled away and smiled, "Matt, you don't need to throw yourself out there and do stupid stuff to get my attention. I like you for you. But, when you do rude and stupid stuff like that, it makes me second guess myself."

He sighed and pecked my lips softly. "I promise, I will treat you right Donna." He whispered in my ear. I sighed, "I want to take things slow Matt. I'm only 16." He laughed, "17!" I chucked, "Shit! I have to get used to that!"

We started laughing but were interrupted my the doctor coming in. "Hello Ms. Meredith." I smiled, "Hey doc." He walked over to me, "So, you have a slight concussion and we were scared you weren't going to wake up but, you did so that's a plus."

I laughed, "So, when can I go home?" He chucked, "I understand most kids hate hospitals so you're lucky sweetie! You can leave right after we get your insurance information so we can send them the bill."

I gulped and nodded. He looked at Matt, "Will she be staying with her?" Matt looked at me and I smiled in agreement. He looked at the doctor, "Yes sir." The doctor nodded, "Okay, you're going to need to wake her up every hour and ask her questions like: How old are you? What's your name? Where are you from? Stuff like that."

Matt nodded, "Can do sir." He chucked, "Great, great. So whenever you fill out the paper work you may leave." I nodded, "Thanks sir." He smiled, "You're welcome Ma'am." He walked out and I looked at Matt. He was standing up, "Where are you going?" "To get that paper work for you." I laughed, "Yeah... about that. I don't have insurance!"

He stopped and tapped his foot and thought for a while. "I'll just pay for i-" He was cut off by Brian walking into the room, "Pay for what?" Brian glared at me, "Nothing." I said lying through my teeth. Matt looked at him and sighed, "I'm using my insurance company to pay for Donna." Brian shrugged, "I'll pay for it."

Matt cocked his head, "Dude, I said I would." Brian shook his head, "I will do it! Mine company is better for her then yours." Matt shook his head, "Dude relax, I got this." Brian walked closer to him, "I said I do!" I started to get fed up, "Will you guys just fucking quiet! This isn't a competition!"

Brian shook his head and walked out. I looked at Matt and he laughed. "I'll be right back." I nodded and took in a deep breathe. Things have went to from crazy to crazier within the past 24 hours. I don't know what to do about Matt and Brian, I'll just go with the flow.

Matt came walked back in and sat down. He began writing all over the paper. He was so cute just sitting there trying to think of stuff. He looked at me, "You alright there?" I snapped out of it and realized I had been staring at him. "Uh... yeah." I said with a nod. He laughed and continued.

I felt this big rush of emotion run through my body. "Matt, come here." He scooted closer to me and stared into my eyes. I smiled, leaned up and kissed him. He smiled into the kiss and pulled back. "What was that for?" I laughed, "For everything you have done for us. Well except hitting Courtney and being an ass the first few days." He went back to filling out paper work and I just kept smiling. He glanced over at me and smiled while setting his pen down.

He looked up, "Ready beautiful?" I laughed and nodded, "Ready." He helped me get my stuff together and I walked out into the waiting room and seen everyone there except Brian. Courtney and Johnny were holding hands, I nearly threw up a little in my mouth. I looked at Johnny and made a thrust motion with my body and he started laughing. Courtney just shook her head at me.

We walked to the SUV and I sat in the front with Matt. There was so much traffic and Matt was getting pissed, "MOVE YOUR FUCKING ASSES PEOPLE!" I laughed and looked at him. He was pissed so I grabbed his hand to comfort him. He rubbed his thumb over my hand and it seemed to relax him.

Soon enough, we pulled up to the bus and everyone went on. Matt stopped me before I went on, "Hey, I don't want you sleeping on these bunks tonight. I will go rent you a hotel room. I'll stay with you until you fall asleep. Then I'll just call you to wake you up." I really wanted him to stay with me but I didn't want to make things awkward. I sighed, "Alrighty."

We walked on and I was greeted my Ceaser, he knew something was wrong with me and I just couldn't help but sat down and pet him. After about 15 minutes of petting Ceaser, I went to pack some clothes into my duffle bag. I felt a hand on my shoulder and I turned around.

Thankfully it was Courtney, "Hey girl. So I hear you're going to a hotel?" I nodded, "Yeah and I hear you and Johnny fucked?" She slapped my back and I winced. "Whore." I said and we both laughed.

I continued as she left and I felt another hand on my shoulder, "Go away whore." I said and started laughing. The person cleared their throat and I turned around, it was Brian.

I sighed, "Hi." "What are you packing for?" He asked confusingly. "I'm going to a hotel for the night with Matt." I cocked his head, "With Matt?" His eyes widened as he said his name. I nodded, "Yeah." He shook his head, "I'll stay with you Donna."

I shook my head, "No Brian, it's fine." He started to get pissed, "Stop pushing me away from you!" My eyes widened at how mad he was getting. It's not that I don't like him, it's just I want to explore my options. I started at him, "Brian I just need sometime by myself."

He scrunched his eyebrows, "Exactly! By yourself not with Matt!" Him yelling was making my head pound and I started getting dizzy. I fell against the wall, but I managed to glanced behind him and see Matt running towards us.

Matt stepped him front of me and grabbed my hand, "Brian stop yelling at her, you're going to hurt her head." I grabbed my head, "Too late."

I started crying and I closed my eyes tightly. I felt myself getting lifted into the air and carried somewhere. I heard a creaking noise and it suddenly got really cold and I could feel the sharp needle like rain drops hitting my skin.

I opened my eyes and saw Matt running to the SUV with me in his arms. He placed me into the passenger seat and grabbed the latch to make the seat lay flat so I could lay down. He shut the door so quietly and it made me smile. I seen him get in the SUV and he sighed hand hit is head on his steering wheel.

I grabbed his hand and pulled him to me. I kissed him, "Thanks Matt." He smiled, "Your welcome sweetheart." I smiled, I was really starting to like him, he was so gentle and really a big teddy bear.

We started driving, hand and hand, to the hotel and he parked. He checked in and carried my bag up to my room and I plopped on the bed. It was already 9:30 and I was dead tired, I patted the bed as a motion for him to come sit next to me.

He did and he sighed, "What a day." I laughed, "Yeah it was." He smiled, "Want to watch a movie?" I nodded and he walked to get the remote. He grabbed it and laid on the bed making sure to be right on the edge. I laughed, "Come here." He scooted closer and I laid my head on his chest. He smiled and started to rub my back soothingly. He flicked on the TV and I read the TV guide.

I seen 'The Notebook', "STOP!" He dropped the remote and threw his hands up in the air, "What!" I laughed, "Turn on channel 48!" He turned it on and he made a noise of disgust, "You're kidding right?" I laughed, "No! This movie is awesome." He chuckled, "Alright we'll watch it."

He had his head on mine and my hand was on his chest. He was so calm but, I was running a marathon inside. After about an hour of watching the movie I started to doze off. I feel asleep for what it only seemed 15 seconds but, it was actually 15 minutes.

I felt him lightly move me off of him and I started to panic, "Matt!" He nearly had a heart attack, "Shh, I'm right here." I opened my eyes, "Where are you going?" He laughed, "Back to the bus, you need sleep." I shook my head, "Stay." He looked at me confused, "Stay?" I nodded proudly, "Stay here, with me."

I started to blush and he nodded, "But, there's only one bed." My eyebrows rose, "You don't want to sleep with me?" I started to fake cry. He laughed, "You don't have to ask me twice. But, whatever happened to I want to take things slow?" I laughed, "Shut up!" He laughed and laid back down next to me.

I put my head on his chest. "Donna?" I heard him ask shakily. I looked up at him, "Yes Matthew? I'm trying to watch this movie." I said with a sarcastic tone. He smiled as I looked into his eyes. I was hesitating to kiss him again but he must have caught on.

He leaned down and kissed me. I returned it and soon enough I felt his tongue slip into my mouth. This was the most passionate one yet. He had both is hands cupped around my face. I slipped a hand through so it was around his neck. I bit his lip as I pulled away.

He smirked, "Get some sleep hun, you've been through a lot these past 24 hours. " I nodded and he kissed my forehead. I turned onto my side and I felt Matt put his arm around my waist. He shut off the TV and I took in a big breathe.

I laid there for about 25 minutes and I soon heard Matt snoring quietly. A smiled kept on my face as I turned around so I was facing him. His body warm against mine. I snuggled up close to him and closed my eyes. I felt him re-arranging himself so I closed my eyes tightly to give him the impression that I was sleeping.

He held me closer and I heard him whisper, "I love you Donna." My eyes widened and my jaw dropped, I was shocked. That was when I finally realized that, I fell for Matt, Matt Sanders, M. Shadows, hard.
