A Man With Scissors for Hands

"I heard a knock upon my door the other day. I opened it to find death staring at my face." My phone sang. I yawned, and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes. I slowly got up from my bunk, and walked to the lounge area of the bus. Allie and Balz where the only two awake. I smiled as Allie patted the spot next to her on the sofa. I gladly sat next to her, and layed my head on my best friends shoulder.
"Morning." She chirped.
"Morning." I said back, with little expression in my voice.
"Do you know what today is?!" Balz asked, with a little bit of a shocked expression.
I looked at him, and shook my head.
"Are you fucking mad?!" He asked, playfully.
I couldn't help but laugh.
"It's September....13th....ring a bell?"
"Already?" I asked, realizing that today was my birthday.
"You forgot your own birthday!?!" Balz was still asking questions.
I smiled innocently, and he shook his head in disbeilief. I absolutely despised my birthday. I have ever since I was little, and my parents had gotten me a 'special surprise' for me, which turned out to be a baby snake. Baby or not, snakes are the scarriest shit. EVER.

"Go get dressed! We have a surprise for you!" Allie squealed.
I sighed. "No. No surprises, okay?"
"You'll like this one. Promise." She smiled widely, and ushered me to the bathroom -where she had already set out clothes for me. I couldn't help but laugh at her dorkiness. I washed my face, and brushed my teeth before getting dressed, and doing my hair and makeup. I looked in the floor-lenght mirror behind the door, and for the first time in a long time, I liked what I saw. In the mirror was a beautiful girl in a mid-thigh length, fluffly black dress. The dress had a silver design over her right breast. High heels that where black velvet, with silver sequins all over them. Her ruby red hair was perfectly straight, with a silver clip just above her right ear. Was this really me? I sighed, and felt a bit of confidence inside me -something I hadn't known to well. I walked back out of the bathroom, to be greated by only Allie, who was now dressed in a mid-thigh length dress, that fit her beautifully. It was a deep purple color, and she had gray crop jacket over it. Her heels where also velvet, but gray ratner than black. I smiled. "What's all this for?" I asked. She grinned, and grabbed my hand, leading me outside. We walked out into the night. We where in a place I knew too well. Not home yet, but in Las Vegas. It was the one place Devin and I had wanted to go, ever since we had been 13. Allie let go of my hand, and began walkin to her right.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"Sh! I don't want to ruin anything!" She said with excitment in her voice. I sighed loudly as we entered a building that had looked vacant from the outside. We walked up a few flights of dark stairs, with nothing but a few candels suspened from each wall. We had finally reached the top of the staircases, where there had been a large metal door.
Allie turned to look at me, grinning. "Happy Birthday." She said opening the door, but not taking her eyes off of me. I hesitantly -but impatiently- walked through the door. In front of me was a beautiful setting. A single table with a solid black tablecloth draped over it. A vase with a single rose in the middle, stars in the sky, and to top it all of, a man of perfection in a formal black outfit, hair slicked back, and eye liner. I clapped my hand over my mouth. It was absolutely perfect. Chris wrapped his arms around me. His touch made me feel even more speechless. He kissed the top of my head, and thanked Allie as she left.

"How did you manage to do all of this?" I asked, still shocked.
He chuckled, and pulled the chair, closest to me, out. I happily sat down, as he took the other seat.

"It took a lot of work, time, and patients. But, your worth it."
I couldn't help but blush.
"I love you, Dani." He said.
That was the biggest shock of all.
"I-I love you too." I said, smilng uncontroably. He leaned over the table, and kissed me. Something felt different...something felt wrong. I pulled away.
"Your snake bites, why did you take them out?" I asked.
"Allie." He chuckled, and pulled a small clear bag out of his pocket. He took the contents out. It was then that I had realized he was putting his snake bites back in. I giggled, and kissed him.

Allie walked through the door she had previously exiited, and smiled apologetically.
"Sorry Chris, but you have to share her!" She giggled.
I smiled, and pecked Chris on thr lips.
"I love you." I said, hugging him once more.
"I love you too." He said, giving me one last kiss before Allie dragged me out of the vacant building.
"Alright. We're going shoping. Anything you want." She smiled. As we headed towards the mall, We had decided that Hot Topic would be the first place we went. Instead of getting anything from there, I ended up with a new X Box game -which I was more than happy about.

"Can we go home now?" I asked, yawning.
She giggled and nodded.

As soon as we got back, we had all decided to get a hotel. I shared a room with Chris, and cuddled until we both fell asleep.

* Allie's P.O.V *

"aAlli? Can I talk to you?" Devin asked. I nodded, and patted the spot next to me on the hotel room sofa.
"What's up?" I asked.
"Well, you know Dani the best. You guys have been pretty much inseperable since th first day you met." He began.
I smiled.
"Well, I've kinda...had a crush on her in high school, and I wanted to know if I would sound insane if I told her that I might like her again..."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
"Devin, Don't you dare tell her! Your going to get over this silly little crush! Do you know how much that would hurt her?! She loves Chris, but of coarse she wouldn't want to hurt you! She would do anything to protect you, because your her best friend! It would be like Twilight! And the last time I checked, she hated that movie!"
He was pissing me off at this point.

"But I LOVE her! I'm going to tell her, weather you want me to or not!"
"No, your not!" I screamed. "WHY would you want to put her through something like that?!" He left the room without an answer. He couldn't do that. He wouldn't....
