A Lifeless Dream

Two hours later I was ready. I had worn the white dress along with the black sandal heels that Brian brought me, my hair was fixed in small waves by Lucy and Linds did my makeup. I started getting more and more nervous as time passed.

“Ready” Linds said and grinned as she added the final touches to my makeup.

I stood up and took my clutch bag in my hands making my way downstairs along with the girls. It was now five minutes before eight and I was on edge I was nervous and happy at the same time.

Jimmy and Matt were downstairs talking about something when I stepped inside and they stopped talking when I came in with Lucy and Linds behind me.

“Brian is going to shit his pants” Jimmy exclaimed making me laugh

“Jimmy!” I scolded him playfully but both guys just laughed

Matt was about to talk when the doorbell rang and I felt like I could faint. I didn’t think I was ever as nervous as I was now. Jimmy rushed to open the door but when he did he found Zacky standing on the other end of it.

“It’s just Zacky” he yelled

“Just Zacky? Thanks man I love you too” he got in and went to greet Linds first “Looking good Lissa what’s the occasion? Oh yeah big date tonight” he winked wrapping his arms around Lind’s shoulders

“Thank you! But I think Brian’s late…what time is it?”

“It’s 20:10” Matt said after checking his phone

“He is late!” I sat on the couch “Wasn’t I suppose to be the one being late?” I asked fearing that he might not come

“Yes but- Oh look he is here” Lucy said when the doorbell rang once more and Jimmy rushed to open the door like before

“It’s Johnny!” he yelled and I could feel my pulse quickening

“He is not going to come…Oh God!” I started breathing hard…Maybe he regretted it and he was going to stood me up

“Alicia look at me” Lucy gripped my shoulders “Brian’s just late he is coming…maybe he is just stuck in traffic”

“The roads are empty…” Johnny said earning a slap in the back of his head from Jimmy

“Way to go short shit” Jimmy mumbled

“I’m pretty sure he is still trying to do his hair” Zacky said with a nod and I shook my head
Just as I was about to talk the doorbell rang for the third time and I really whished that it was Brian this time.

“I swear if it isn’t him” Jimmy mumbled as he went to open the door all the guys following behind him leaving me with Linds and Lucy.

“I’m sure it’s him” Linds said with a smile

“Well hello there Haner” Matt said and I instantly smile quickly standing up do I can go to Brian

“See? I told you” Lucy winked and I all but ran to the door

I was surprised though to not see Brian because all the guys were standing in front of him with arms crossed across their chests and I moved a little to the side finally seeing Brian.

“Hey guys” he said nervous

“You are late” Jimmy said accusingly “Your date was nervous”

“I know I’m sorry I stopped for flowers and I got held back” he said and I saw the big bouquet of red roses he had on his hands.

“Guys its ok” I said and Brian turned to look at my way. He smiled and I did the same before I tried to make my way through the guys

“Hold it!” Matt said “we’re gonna have a discussion first”

“Are you serious?” I asked anxious to go to my date

“Yes we are” Zacky said

“Now…you should know that if you hurt her we will hunt you down and hurt you. Well not your hands because we still need you to play guitar but you got the meaning” Jimmy said and I couldn’t help but chuckled

“You think it’s funny?” Brian asked me but I could see the small smile forming on his face

“Where are you going to take her?” Johnny asked this time

“Yeah Where are you going to take her?” they really had to be kidding me right now

“Oh come on Jimmy…” he whined “it’s a surprise I can’t tell you”

“Do you think we should let him take the young one to a date?” Jimmy asked the guys

“Guys” I whined too “are you going to play the overprotective brothers for long?” and before I knew what was happening I was surrounded by four men hugging me.

“Oh did you hear that we’re her brothers” I laughed at Jimmy’s voice as I was smothered

“Yes you are now can I please go?” I asked as they pulled back

“Ok fine” the said all together

“Weird" Lucy said and I laughed

“Bye! Love you” I said and walked towards Brian whose eyes widened when he saw me

“Wow you look beautiful!” he said as we were now standing in front of each other

“Thank you! You don’t look so bad yourself” I said as I took in his appearance he was too dressed fancy as he put it; he was in a black suit.

“These are for you” he handed me the flowers and I took them in my hands and smelled them

“Thanks they are beautiful” I smiled and blushed at his next comment

“Not as beautiful as you” he winked and I heard Lucy said form behind ‘such a charmer’

Lucy took the flowers saying that she would put it in a vase. Brian took my hand in his as we walked towards his car. He opened the passenger door so I could come in but a voice cut us off.

“Use protection” Jimmy yelled from the door before he close it and got back in

We both laughed and thought that it was cute that even though we’ve been through so much together we were on our first date and we were both nervous as hell. I suddenly wrapped my arms around his neck hugging him, he was surprised at first but it wasn’t long before he wrapped his arms
around my waist.

“What’s wrong?” he asked his voice right next to my ear

“Nothing it’s stupid” I shook my head

“Tell me.” He demanded softly

“It’s just that you were late and I thought that you regretted it and that you weren’t going to come” I mumbled and he laughed lightly pulling me at arm’s length

“There’s nothing that would make me regret being with you” he stroked my cheek a loving look playing in his eyes “Now…let’s go on with that date alright?” I smiled and nodded as he kissed my cheek

“I’m gonna save the kiss for the end of our date” he winked “I love you”

“I love you too” I entered the car and he did too before he started driving towards our destination.

I didn’t ask him where we were going because he said to Jimmy that it was a surprise so he wouldn’t tell me either. We were silent as Brian drove with my hand in his, after a while the car came to a stop and I saw that we were parked outside a really nice restaurant by the beach.

Brian got out telling me to wait and he came to open the door for me. He linked our hands together as we walked towards the entrance. When we entered the host greeted as and Brian told her our reservation.

“Haner for two” he said and the host checked the reservation book before nodding

“Yes Mr. Haner if you follow me right this way”

We followed her as she leaded as to our table which was outside in the patio and what I noticed was that our table was the only table outside.

“What did you do?” I asked Brian as we sat

“What do you mean?”

“I mean it’s the only table outside”

“Don’t you like it?” he asked and took my hand in his

“I love it” I answered as I look around “It is perfect”

We made small talk until a waiter came to take our drink orders saying that he will be back later to take our food orders.

“The lobster is really good here you should order it” Brian said and I bit my lip

“I can’t”

“Why? You don’t like it?” he asked confused

“I’m allergic to it…” I said a little hesitant

“Oh…I didn’t know”

“That’s why we’re here right?” I smiled at him “So you’ve been here before?”

“Yeah we came once with the guys…”

From that point everything went smoothly we talked and learned more about each other. He told me some stories about the guys when they went on tour making us both laugh and when it was time to leave Brian suggested that we should take a walk on the beach so now we were walking towards the beach.

“Wait” I said us we reached the sand making Brian stop “I need to take my shoes off” he just laughed as I removed my heels leaving his hand for a minute before placing my hand back in his.

“Are you cold?” Brian asked me as we started walking

“A little” he took of his blazer and pulled it around my shoulders

He placed his arm around my waist and kissed the side of my head; I laid my head on his shoulders and wrapped my free arm around him as with the other I was holding my shoes.

He suddenly stopped and I noticed that we were in the same stop that we were a few hours later. Brian let go of me and stood in front of me taking my heels and leaving them next to me.

“So I know this is our first day” he took my hands in his “and some might say it’s too soon but we’ve been through so much together, I don’t want to spend another minute without calling you mine” he said and I could feel my eyes burning with tears.

“First of all I wanted to give you this” he reached in his pocket and pulled out a red velvet box “I will sound cheesy right now but let’s keep it between us ok because Jimmy will never let me hear the end of it” he opened the box and inside there was a necklace a silver chain with a key.

“Brian it’s beautiful” I said and turned around so he could put it on me

“You have my heart baby you’re holding the key to my heart” I grinned while touching the key that was now hanging around my neck

“Jimmy really won’t let you hear the end of it but you have my heart too. I hope you that you know that” he nodded and took a step closer

“I do. That’s why I’m asking you” he wrapped his arms around my waist “Will you be my girlfriend?”
