Best Intentions

I woke up the next day in bed. Naked. I put on my clothes from last night since they were the only clothes I could see. I was alone in the room. Alex had probably left already. I went out of the room and into the kitchen. I was making some coffee when someone wrapped their arms around my waist. He kissed my cheek.
"Alex, we need to talk" I said. I turned around to face him. He was no holding my lower back
"Well, talking isn't really on my agenda right now" he said with a smirk. I could feel my cheeks burning up.
"Alex" I said
"Okay okay." he said smiling as he threw his arms up defensively letting go of me.
"Last night..." I trailed off
"Last night was.. fun" he said
"It was" I said
"I can feel that there's a but coming" he said "and before you say anything. I thought about it all morning and if you want this to be forgotten then I won't argue with you" he said
"No!" I said. I could see his eyes light up as I said that one word. "Last night was fun but I'm just not ready to commit. And I don't want last night to be forgotten. It was special, you know? But I'm not ready for anything big right now. You'd think that after five years I would but no." I said
"Oh" he said "If that's what you want."

"Cass won't be bringing Rosie back 'til later afternoon" Alex said
"What could they possibly be doing?" I said
"Cass hasn't seen her in a week. She's probably spoiling her right now" he said. I chuckled
"What do you wanna do until then?" I asked.
"Well.." he said smirking. I caught on pretty fast.
"No!" I said. I could feel my cheeks turning red. "Don't even think about it"

I don't know what it was about Alex. But it's like I couldn't control myself around him. One minute I say no the next I'm pulling him closer to me. Things were getting pretty heated, soon enough we were in my bedroom. Our clothes flying around.
"I want you" was the last thing I said.

"2 times in one weekend. That's a new record" I said as we lay in my bed, naked. again.
"Well, keeping the streak is fun" Alex said as he wrapped his arms around my waist.
"I'm gonna go get dressed" I said
"No" he whined keeping an even tighter grip around my waist
"Alex" I said
"No!" he said "Just a few more minutes. I like cuddling with you"
"Fine" I said
"What you said awhile ago, you want me, is that true?" he asked I knew there was a smirk on his face right now.
"Maybe" I said
"Whatever, Jardine" he said pecking my lips. I got up and got in the shower.

After I showered I put on a fresh set of clothes. As I walked out of my room and into the living room I saw Alex sitting on the couch, watching the football game. I was watching him for awhile until he noticed.
"Oh you're done taking a shower. Come watch the game with me" he said motioning me to come site down beside him.
I sat beside him. He put his arm around me and I placed my head on his shoulder.
"Mmm. You smell good" I told him
"Of course, I do" he said arrogantly as he smirked
"Whatever" I said

We stayed like this for what felt like hours, just enjoying each others company. I love his company. I love his scent. I love his smile. I love it when he smirks, when he gets too cocky. I love how he runs a hand through his hair when gets frustrated or how he scratches the back of his neck and stutters when he gets nervous. I love everything about him. Everything he does makes it so easy to fall in love with him.

It was 7:30 when Cass and Jack came in the door with Rosie.
"Mommy, Daddy!" Rosie shouted and came running to us
"Hi baby! How was it?" I ask
"It was great! I saw a dolphin!" She said all giddy
"You really had a great time?" Alex asked her
"Yes yes yes!" she said
"Even without mommy and me?" Alex asked pouting
"Of course not!" Rosie said
"Good. I missed you sweetheart" he said kissing her cheek and hugging her tightly
"I'm tired. Can I go up now?" she asked
"Of course sweetheart." I said as I carried her to her room
I brought her up to her room. I tucked her in and sang her a lullaby. When I noticed she was asleep I quickly got out of the room only to see Alex by the doorway.
"Remember how I always asked you to sing to me back then?" he said smiling at what he had witnessed earlier.
"Yeah" I said
"Just like me. She appreciated your talent" he said. I smiled at him. We both went down to the living room, where Jack and Cass were. When we got down i noticed that Cass was gone. Jack told me that she was in the kitchen getting some water. Alex went to use the bathroom. I was left alone with Jack.
"What happened? Your place is a mess!" Jack emphasized.
"Uhh" I said, starting to blush.
"You didn't!" Jack exclaimed. I kept quiet. "Shit Tay! Are guys back together?" he asked
"First off, we can't be back together. We were NEVER together. Second, no we are not together. He and I talked about this." I said
"So you guys are just fucking?" he said. I glared at him "What are you guys?" he asked.
"I don't know. But we're not together" I said
"So you guys are just fuck buddies? Back to the same old ways." he said
"No! We are not 'fuck buddies' This has only happened 3 times!" I said
"I know for a fact that you guys first had sex with each other when you made Rosie..." he said. His eyes started to get big "Holy shit, Tay! Twice in one weekend? Seriously?" he said "That's gotta be something" he said
"No it's not" I said
"You guys are benefits" he said
"No we're not! I promise this won't happen again" I told him.
"Whatever you say" he said
"I'll talk to him" I said
"Talk or.." he trailed off
"Oh God, Jack!" I hissed at him
"I'm playin!" he said
"But you guys are good together, you know." he said. I shrugged it off.
