Well, Who's to Say You'll Have to Do it Alone?

-Fast forward to monday-

We left pretty early in the morning, we didnt wanna get stuck in to much traffic. I drove and Keith sat in the passenger seat while Eliza sat with Caitlyn. Later when we finally got home Jack and Rian were sitting on the hammock.

"Hey" i said

"Hey!, did you have fun?" Jack asked helping me with all the stuff i had

"Mhm" i said sitting down next to Rian

"You look miserable" Rian said

"Well Brooks dad called and threatened to take me to court" i said

"Why?!" he said

"Because i took Caitlyn for the weekend, he seriously is taking this situation way to far. Brook was okay with it so i dont see why he was pissed" i said

"Yeah. So what are you gonna do?" he asked

"Im taking him to court, gonna get a restraining order on him or something" i said

"Damn" he said and i nodded

I called up Mark the guy Keith recommended to me that works with him. Supposedly hes really good at getting restraining orders, hes the perfect person to help. I gave him all the information he needed and he said he was gonna call Brooks dad. The next day me and Jack took Caitlyn over to Zacks for breakfast. When we got home Brooks dad was waiting in his car, he looked really pissed off.

"Good luck" Jack said taking Caitlyn

"Jack wait-" i started but was cut off when i heard a car door slam

"Where did you take my granddaughter?" Brooks dad said coming over to me

"To my friends house for breakfast. Dont worry shes not injured" i said rolling my eyes

"And do i know this friend?" he asked

"No. God your such a prude, go home. My life isnt any of your damn business" i said

"I got a call last night. How dare you try to push us out of her life!" he said

"I didnt push Brook out, just you" i said

"I dont trust you one bit Gaskarth" he said

"Clearly your daughter does though, otherwise she would have kept Caitlyn" i said

"You think your so clever, huh?" he said

"Im fabulous. Now go home you look like a moron" i said

"You cant take care of this child" he said

"Mhm. Because shes totally not being fed, or bathed or given attention. Yep" i said sarcastic

"Whatever Alex, i will see you later today" he said

"What?" i said

"That young man that called me told me were gonna get this straightened out today since its not a big thing. He said he'd call you, guess your not so responsible" he said

"I left my phone home. Not a big deal" i said

"Sure" he said and turned to leave and i flipped him off and went inside

I checked my phone and sure enough i had a missed call, i had to be at the court at 2pm. Later when i left i had Jack watch Caitlyn, they didnt need to come with me. I arrived at the courthouse to see Eliza and Keith sitting in for the hearing.

"Alright lets start this. Would you like to state your case Mr. Gaskarth?, i hear you want to get your daughters grandfather out of her life?" the judge said

"Yes" i said

"Why?" she asked

"Hes been all up in my business, lashing out at me for stupid stuff" i said

"Like?" she asked

"I brought Caitlyn in to the doctors, he happened to be her doctor, and he threatened to take me to court if he ever saw her in there again" i said

"What happened to her?" she asked

"She just had a sinus infection" i said and she nodded

"Mr. Meyers. Whats your statement on the situation?" she asked

"He doesnt seem like a fit father, he doesnt let his mother see her. Hes very snotty towards me. I just dont like this kid" he said

"Is this true?. You didnt let Caitlyns mother see her?" she asked

"Well yeah. This weekend i took Caitlyn to a family reunion, i got permission from her mother to do so though" i said and she nodded

"Would you like to say anything on this situation?" she asked Mark

"Yes, ive heard the phone call he left Alex this weekend. Ive heard all these stories from Alex and this man just doesnt seem okay to be around Alex's daughter" he said

"Do you have a liable witness on these stories?" she asked

"Yes. His friend Rian Dawson, i talked to him last night as well. He told me everything Alex told me" he said

"Is Mr. Dawson here today?" she asked

"No. My cousin is though, she knows a lot since i told her about the situation this weekend" i said

"Will his cousin please stand and state her name and case" she said and Eliza got up

"Hi. Im Eliza Hudson, Alex has told me about how Mr. Meyers has come to his house before to bother him on the situation and harassed him on a few other occasions" Eliza said and the judge nodded and Eliza sat back down

"Now will Mr. Meyers lawyer state his case" the judge said

"Mr. Meyers has told me that Mr. Gaskarth is very immature and always has been. He said he isnt surprised he reacted this way. Honestly i think Mr. Meyers is a fine grandfather" Brooks dads lawyer said

"Sure he is" i said

"Well i think for everyones sake, and Caitlyns. Mr.Meyers you need permission from Mr. Gaskarth to see your granddaughter. Its clear that this relationship is not healthy and we cannot have a baby thats still trying to develope in the middle of this" she said

"Thats unfair!, my daughter is the mother!" Brooks dad said

"It is not. Your daughter doesnt have legal custody full time to make any decisions in this. Court dismissed" the judge said and left the room

"Thank you so much Mark" i said shaking his hand

"Of course" he said and me and Brooks dad signed the papers and i left

I left the courthouse with Brooks dad following behind me, he looked pissed which brought joy to my life. As i walked down the steps the news people crowded around me, like i said before Brooks parents are known around here and are practically celebritys. I flipped everyone off and got in my car and went home where Jack and Caitlyn and Zack were sitting on the hammock.

"Hey" i said

"Hey!. Did you win!?" Jack asked

"Well to me i did. He needs my permission to see her, that wont happen" i said sitting down

"Good" he said

"Mhm, hows my baby?" i asked

"Fine, sleeping" he said

"Nice" i said and he passed me Caitlyn

"I bet life is gonna be a lot easier now, huh?" Zack asked

"Definitely" i said and my phone buzzed and i pulled it out, it was a text from Brook that said: Alex, i heard about what happened. Your so heartless. I rolled my eyes and laughed

"What is it?" Jack asked

"Brook. I dont wanna talk about it, just wanna focus on whats important from now on. Caitlyn" i said
