Well, Who's to Say You'll Have to Do it Alone?

The next day was hectic, i was all alone with Caitlyn and she was very moody. Ive been alone with her before but not when she was just fussy all day. I brought her outside and sat on the swing and she still was freaking out. While i was swinging i heard a door open. I looked over and saw Lauren come outside, she came straight over to me.

"Hey Alex" she said

"Hey whats up?" i asked

"Nothing just working on some school work, i heard the baby crying and thought i'd come over and see whats up" she said

"Really?!, im so sorry for disrupting you. Shes just so fussy today and she wont stop crying and im like in panic mode and i dont know what to do i-" i said rambling and she cut me off

"Alex!, relax. Its totally okay, is there anything i can do to help?" she said

"Oh no, i got this i can handle her. Besides i have no clue how to calm her down. Ive tried everything i can think of" i said

"No i wanna help. Have you tried going for a walk?" she asked

"Nope" i said

"It might help. Wheres the stroller?, i'll go with you" she said

"You dont have to-" i started and she cut me off

"Alex!, will you quit it!. I wanna help" she said laughing

"Fine. Its in the living room, you can go get it" i said and she went into the house

We took Caitlyn for a walk and it seemed to help. It was super nice out so i was glad we went for a walk. While we were walking we were having a conversation which Caitlin listened to, shes so freaking adorable.

"Shes listening" Lauren said

"I know, she listens to everyone talking. Its cute" i said

"Yeah" she said

"Thanks for suggesting this. I never thought of this, im glad we did it though. And thanks for coming i hate not having people to talk to when im walking" i said

"Of course. I love walking, i do it all the time. You two should come with me sometime" she said

"Okay. She seems to love it so why not" i said

"Good, plus fresh air is good for babys. And you. Is this the first time you've tooken her for a walk?" she asked me

"Yeah, but shes gone for a walk before with my friend. I dont know why i didnt think of a walk" i said

"Its fine its overwhelming when they cry. Makes it hard to even think straight" she said

"Yeah. Why are you so good with kids!, you dont even have one!" i said

"I come from a huge family. Ive babysat babys, and kids of all ages really. Countless times" she said

"I see" i said nodding

We finished the walked and started heading back to the house. Lauren is so sweet, Caitlin likes to her to so thats good. When we finally got back to my house Jack and Brooks dad were talking, i sighed annoyed.

"Is everything okay?" Lauren asked

"Yep. Take Caitlin for me, i'll be back" i said

"Alright" she said and i gave her the stroller and i went over to them

"Whats going on?" i said

"He came over looking for you, didnt believe me when i said i didnt know where you were" Jack said

"Mark why the hell are you bugging my-. Actually i dont care, leave now" i said

"Whose the girl?, you know you being seen with our granddaughter and a random girl isnt gonna be a good image for our family" Brooks dad said, Brooks parents are very well known in this town

"Really?. You dont think your daughter leaving her child on a doorstep would be a bad image?. Because i think it is" i said

"Who is the girl Alex?" he asked

"Our neighbor Lauren, she found Caitlin the night Brooke left her here. We went on a walk. Not like its your business what i do and who i do it with" i said annoyed

"If my granddaughters involved it is" he said

"Leave please, you guys have the custody you wanted. Go away" i said

"That only involves Brook. I'd like to-" he started but i cut him off

"Absolutely not!. Your not taking her, i dont care what your reasoning is. Your just not!" i said

"Alex-" he started but i cut him off

"Jack im going inside, get Caitlin from Laurens. And you Mark!. I suggest you get off my property before i call the cops because that wouldnt be good for your family right?, you getting arrested bothering your granddaughters father" i said and went inside the house

I was texting Zack and cleaning up while Jack was getting Caitlin. I was surprisingly calm the whole time, guess i just needed to seclude myself from everyone and everything. A little while later Jack came back with Caitlin.

"Hey" he said sitting Caitlin on my lap

"Hi, what took so damn long. You just needed to get my kid" i said and he laughed

"Yeah well i was talking to Lauren. She wants us to come to a BBQ at her sisters house tomorrow. She thought you could use some adult time" he said

"Oh, sure sounds fun" i said i did need to just go and have some fun without Caitlin. I mean i love the girl but i need space, this should be fun

"Great because i told her we'd go!" he said

"Of course you did" i laughed and rolled my eyes at him
