I Don't Need My Memory to Remember that Smile

I woke up screaming and Alek come running in the room.
“ Are you alright, lily?”
I couldn’t look him in the eyes I was scared.
“ He’s going to hurt me again.” I said where I only thought he could hear me.
“No he’s not he’s locked up remember?”
“ Yes, but.”
“ But nothing, your fine, Im here.” He said forcefully.
“ Sorry.” I whispered.
“ Its okay I know what he did to you and I promised you he would never touch you again. Okay. You’re going to be alright.”
“ Okay” I said blankly.
“ Lily, your grandfather is down stairs and he’s really anxious, please come see him he’s annoying me.” He said dryly. I knew he was serious.
I giggled. “ Okay, just give me a second.”
He smiled and left the room without looking back.
I took this small amount of time and added it to my small pile of writings.
