Even Without Words

Kellin

Kellin 23
Despite how scared I’d gotten when no one could find Vic, the fact that he went to ask his mom if I could come over for Christmas kept a smile on my face for the rest of the night. We ended up going downstairs and sitting around with Gabe and Jack to watch a movie. Gabe popped in Inception before laying back down on the couch and pulling his boyfriend on top of him. Vic and I were in a very similar position at the moment except Vic was under me. He was really comfy, I could probably lay like this forever.

I must’ve fallen asleep because when I opened my eyes, Vic was carrying me up the stairs. I just snuggled into him and felt his chest move in a silent laugh. I got changed and curled up on my bed while Vic brushed his teeth and he came out to cuddle with me.

“My mom is excited that you’re coming over,” he told me. “And my dad will even be there for a while before he has to go back to mexico.”

“I’m excited too,” I smiled lazily. “I really didn’t want to stay here for Christmas.”

“I would never leave you here by yourself over the holidays,” Vic said and kissed me before we drifted off to sleep.

Christmas came quickly and before I knew it, it was the 22nd and Mike, Vic and I were packing up his car and starting the half hour drive to their parents house. Jesse, Gabe, Justin and Jack had left yesterday and Tony lives on the same street as Vic and Mike. Jaime only lives a block over.

“My boys!” The woman who I assumed was their mom said as we pulled up. “Victor, Michael, come here and give your mother a hug!”

“Mom,” Vic whined and I giggled behind him as Mike and I got the bags out from the trunk.

“Victor Vincent Fuentes,” His mother threatened and hugged him before going to Mike and hugging him to. “And you must be Kellin. It’s so nice to meet you.” She hugged me too.

“Well don’t just stand there Victor, help your boyfriend!” she ordered and I turned red. I had no idea she knew. Vic did as he was told and flung an arm around my shoulders.

“I’m sorry, she can be a little much,” he whispered to me. “But she means well.”

“As long as she doesn’t force me to eat a lot,” I whispered back.

“Fuck, I forgot about that part,” Vic groaned. “Don’t worry, I’ll handle it.”

Vic showed me up the stairs to his room which had a mattress on the floor. The walls were blue and green with posters covering most of them. He had the same blue blanket on his bed here as at school.

“You can sleep in my bed, I’ll take the floor,” Vic offered, wrapping his arms around my waist. I smiled and leaned back into him.

“I can take the mattress if you want,” I replied.

“Nope, you’re sleeping in the bed and that’s that,” He said. “Besides, I’m pretty sure my mom half expects me to crawl in with you at some point.”

“You’re so weird,” I said and pushed him a little before sitting on his bed.

“But you love it,” He smirked and sat on the mattress below me.

“Yup,” I replied and laughed a little. “But it’s really weird that you’re family is so cool with all of this.”

“They kind of got used to it last time,” Vic said uncomfortably. “They’re pretty chill anyways. You stay here, I’ll go talk to my mom about the food thing.”

With one last kiss, he got up and left me only to be replaced by his brother in the doorway.

“Hey Kells,” He smiled. “Tony and Jaime are in the basement if you want to come play some video games with us.”

I nodded and got up to follow him down the stairs to where there were two couches and a tv. Tony and Jaime were play fighting over a game of Mario Kart and I sat beside Tony.

“Hey man, wanna play?” he asked me. I nodded and they added a third controller.

Vic came back when Jaime, Tony, Mike and I were playing and sat in front of my knees on the floor. I ended up getting second behind Mike who gave up his spot to Vic. God knows what that boy left to do. We ended up playing a few more games before Jaime and Vic decided to play pool so Tony and I absently played a couple more races.

“So how are you liking Mrs. Fuentes?” Tony asked me.

“She’s different but she’s really nice,” I replied.

“And she makes really good food,” Tony laughed. “Besides, she’ll be cool about you and her little boy over there.”

“Yeah I already saw that,” I giggled. “But I didn’t know his middle name was Vincent.”

“He hates his name,” Tony told me. “It’s hilarious how much he bitches when she pulls it out.”

“He and Mike are lucky to have her though,” I said and was interrupted by the woman herself.

“Come on boys! Before Mike inhales all the food,” she called and went back up the stairs. Jaime and Vic fought each other to try and get up the stairs first while Tony and I laughed.

“Our boyfriends….” He trailed off with a smile and a shake of his head. I laughed at the truth of it.
