Long Live Us

I got up the next morning at like 7am, Jack said he'd be at my house at 9. I took a fast shower and then got dressed and went to eat breakfast. Later while i was sitting on the couch Jack bursted in, it was quiet so he scared me.

"Alex!" Jack yelled

"Dude!. Oh my god, you scared me!" i said

"Im sorry. I got everyone in the car waiting, lets get Elyse and hit the road!" he said

"I'll text her" i said, i texted her: Jack is here. Hes impatient

"So did you take you pills?" he asked

"What the hell are you talking about?" i asked, he knows im not on any medicine

"Well. I dont want you having like a panic attack while were on the road, theres snow everywhere. Accidents happen more" he said

"Dude im not on medicine" i said

"Have you ever considered it?" he asked

"Have you ever considered not being a dick?" i asked

"Alex. Im sorry, i shouldnt have mentioned it. Im just worried about you" he said

"Jack believe me. I'll be fine" i said and there was a knock on the door

"Lets hit the road" he said

We got in the car and drove to the ski resort, it was pretty far away. I ended up falling asleep on the ride there. I woke up to everyone freaking out, i sat up in a panic and Jack started laughing.

"Whats going on!?" i said

"Nothing. Rian just almost ran off the road, calm down" Jack said

"You guys suck. I thought we were all gonna die" i said and he got this look of terror and amusement on his face

"Damn. Mr. Disturbingly gloomy over here" he laughed

"Alex were fine" Zack said

"Were almost there!" Rian said

"Good. Im getting claustrophobic, i dont know how i let you guys talk me into sitting all the way back here" i said we were in Jacks dads suv and i was all the way in the back with Zack and Rians snowboards

"Wanna switch?" Elyse asked

"I'll be fine, thanks. As long as Rian can keep his damn eyes on the road!" i said

"Yeah Rian. Quit trying to kill us!" Jack said and Rian flipped us off

"Shut the hell up!" Rian said jerking the wheel to the side

"Dude!. Their right, dont screw around. Its icy" Zack said serious and Rian nodded

We got to the ski slopes not long after, i was never so happy to be out in the cold in my life. We went down a hill and i kept falling, Elyse seemed to be the only one pro at skiiing. After a while when we got on the ski lift again i sat with Jack and Elyse.

"This is awesome" Jack said

"I know" i said

"Arnt you glad you joined us?" he asked

"Yeah i am" i said

"Thats what i like to hear" he said and the ski lift jolted and stopped completely

"What the hell!?" Elyse said

"Dont panic" Jack said

"Uh, yes panic. Were up so high!" i said

"Well i was mainly referring to you. Dont panic, please" he said

"Shut up!. Like i can help the fact that i have anxiety!" i said

"Will you three quit complaining!?. Everyones looking at you like your nuts!" Rian said

Once we were finally off the lift we went down the hill. Elyse was trying to help me do it correctly, i was just failing miserably. Later we left and on the ride home i fell asleep, i was awoken by someone shaking me.

"What happened!?" i said

"Dude relax, you were like moving like crazy in your sleep. You okay?" Jack asked me putting his hand on me

"Im fine" i said shoving his hand off my shoulder

"Really?" he asked eyeing me

"Yes" i sighed even though inside i was starting to panic

"Your not okay. I can tell, im your best friend. I know you better then you know yourself" he said

"I-...its a small panic attack...im sure it'll pass" i said unconvincingly

"Sure it will" he said and i started hyperventilating

"I-...Jack im-" i started and he cut me off

"Relax dude" he said and the attack got worse

"Im pulling over" Rian said

"Alex. Listen to me, take a deep breath and focus on just that" Elyse said

"I cant" i said

"Yes you can. Listen to her dude" Jack said and i did what she said and i felt better

"You good?" Zack asked

"Yeah" i said, i was still a little nervous and shaky. But i was good

We continued our drive home and i was fine, i just tryed to keep myself distracted. When i got home Rian stayed over because he didnt want me home all alone. When my parents finally came home my mom looked worried.

"You dont look good, are you alright?" my mom asked me

"Fine" i said

"I can tell somethings up, what is it. Did you have a bad day?" she asked and i shrugged

"I had a panic attack" i said

"Three panic attacks in one week?. Im a little worried, maybe we should get you something for them" she said

"Mom no!. Those pills make people like sleep for hours and make people drowsy and just weird. Im not into it" i said

"Well maybe thats what you need. Maybe you need a day to just be fully relaxed" she said

"And completely sedated it'll be like im 3 again?. No thanks" i said

"Well im calling your therapist and your going in to see her tomorrow" she said, i havnt seen my therapist in like months

"Mom im fine" i said

"Your obviously not!. Your going and thats final" she said
