I Bite My Tongue So You Don't Hear Me

To confron their fear and joys they had booked a baby scan at the hospital.
Gemma was lying on the hospital bed as Dan was sat at her bedside holding her hand tight.

'Thats so cool' Dan beamed with a huge smile on his face as he looked at the small screen. Her eyes travelled from his beaming face to the monitor.
'Do you wish to know the gender?' The nurse asked with a smile on her face.
They answered together 'Yes'
The nurse moved the stick around Gemma's belly,her eyes squinted as they studied the screen.
'You're having a girl' She smiled 'Congrats'
The nurse printed a couple of photos and left them alone.
They exchanged looks.

'A girl' Dan stated breaking the silence.
Gemma laughed slightly as she sat up pulling her shirt over her protruding stomach.
'You happy?' She asked
Dan had a look of slight shock and happiness.
'I just....can't believe this' Dan stuttered
'Its surreal' She added

A tear fell from Dan's eye as he looked at Gemma taking her hand.
'Dan,are you okay?' She asked
'I can't wait to meet her' Dan began to cry as he pulled Gemma into his arms.
'Neither can I' She replied wrapping her arms around his waist as they both began to cry.
