Best Places to Be a Mom

-Fast forward 2 weeks-

Today i got up and was really excited, today was my baby shower. My mom, Alex's mom and Breann planned it for me so it was gonna be a surprise. I took a really quick shower and got dressed before going into the livingroom, Alex was flipping through a baby book.

"Hey" i said sitting next to him

"Hey" he said

"When did you get up?" i asked

"A little while ago. I was thinking maybe we could go out for breakfast?" he asked

"Sure, when?" i asked

"As soon as your ready because alls i need to do is change into some normal clothes" he said

"Well im good. Go get some pants on!" i said and he laughed and left the room

After he was all dressed we left to go have breakfast, we decided we wanted to eat at the little diner downtown. We sat down and ordered our food and talked. After talking for a while he decided to bring up my baby shower.

"So, what time is the shower?" he asked

"Like...2" i said

"Cool and Breann is picking you up?" he asked

"Yes and its at Jill and Zacks" i said

"And you know nothing about it. Like location wise and stuff?" he asked

"Pretty much" i said

"Nice" he said drinking his coffee

"Yep. Im excited it should- shit!" i started but stopped when i felt somthing in my stomach

"Are you alright?" he asked

"Mhm. Shit!" i said feeling it again

"Whats wrong?" he asked

"The baby, shes kicking" i said and smiled at the amazed look on his face

"For real!?" he asked coming to kneel next to me

"Mhmm" i said and he put his hand on my stomach and i felt the baby kick

"She hit my hand!" he said excited

"I felt it" i laughed

"Oh my god this is so exciting!" he said

"I know!" i said and he got up and went back to his seat

"God, cant we just go to the hospital now and you can like just pop her out. I wanna see her little face in person" he said

"I dont think it'd be a good idea to give birth at this time" i laughed

"Yeah i guess your right" he sighed and i laughed

We had breakfast and just talked about the baby, we were just so excited since we finally got to feel her move for the first time. Later Alex ended up leaving me home alone to go see Jack and the rest of the guys so they could discuss music stuff. At around 1:30 i was cleaning up the house when the door opened, i looked over and Breann walked in.

"Melody!" she said excited

"Hey" i said

"Get your ass ready!. We gotta go!" she said

"I dont know what to wear, i feel like i look gross" i said

"Oh please. Your pregnant!, you look great" she said

"I still dont know what to wear" i said

"Wear that cute little strapless blush colored dress you have!. Its perfect!" she said

"Alright. What shoes?" i asked walking to our room and she followed

"Well flats obviously. Unless your into heels while pregnant?" she said

"Uhmm no. Heels just make everything more painful" i laughed pulling my closet open

"Well then wear those" she said pointing at the red ballerina flats

"Uhm...there red" i said

"Pink and red go together!. Dont be so fucking OCD about it, get dressed!" she said urging me to do things

"Fuck. Fine i will, pushy" i said

"I am!. Theres traffic and we gotta get there on time!" she said

"Alright" i said and she left the room

I quickly put on my dress and shoes and did my hair quick, i just threw it into a messy bun. We left to go to the shower and as soon as we got on the highway there was crazy traffic, i guess she wasnt being dramatic like i thought she was. When there we walked in and everyone was already there.

"Hey!" everyone said

"Hey. Wow i thought i'd be the first one here for some reason" i said

"I told everyone to come at a different time then you" Breann said

"Ohhhh" i said

"Yep!" she said excited

"God theres more people then i expected here" i said

"I know!" she said

"Melody, you look cute" my mom said coming over to us

"Thanks. I feel fat" i said

"Your not even that big yet!" she said

"I guess" i said

"Come sit and relax" she said and took me over to a table that had Amy and Jill and some other people. She let me sit in this sickly bright pink chair with balloons

"Shit this chair is.....bright" i said

"Yeah. I forced Zack to help me paint it, he didnt like it either but its cool!" Jill said

"Well as bright as it may be i love it" i said

"I knew you would!" she said

"Can i keep the chair?" i asked

"Yeah totally. Zack said he'd throw it out if i kept it so of course its all yours and always was gonna be" she said

"Nice!. Thanks. Alex will fucking hate it, which is awesome!" i said and she laughed

I spent a while just talking to everyone that came to the shower, there was lots of family which was nice. Breann forced us to all play some baby food challenge thing which was nasty as hell. After a few hours we started to open presents.

"Okay to the livingroom everyone, were opening gifts!" Breann said excited

"Were definitely taking this chair in there for you" Jill laughed after i got up and her and Amy moved it to the other room

"Okay so what do you wanna open first?" Breann asked me once we were all in the livingroom and situated

"Uhmm...that one" i said pointing to a package wrapped in yellow wrapping paper

"Alright...its from your mom" she said setting the box in my lap and i nodded and opened it and it was a little periwinkle and purple colored quilt and it had teddys and rattles on it and stars and had some kind of lace around the edges

"Aww its adorable" i said

"Its a baby blanket. I made yours before you were born and i thought i'd make my first grandchilds blanket as well" my mom said

"Its so fucking cute!. Thanks so much mom!" i said

"Of course" she said

"Next one...its from Nicole and Jack" Breann said putting the little black and white polka dot wrapped package in my lap

"Cute wrapping paper" i said

"Before you open this!. I honestly think this is the best thing ever, Alex will honestly fucking love it!" Nicole said

"Okay" i said and opened it and it was a little gray beenie and a black and white All Time Low onesie

"Oh my god!. That is so cute!" Jill said

"It really is, oh my god now she can be just like Alex" i laughed

"Yes!. Thats what me and Jack loved about it!" Nicole said

"Aww im obsessed. Thanks" i said

"Okay heres one from Alexs mom" Breann said handing me a gift bag and i pulled the stuff out of it and it was a baby book, baby monitor and a little mint green tutu

"Aww this is awesome!" i said

"As annoying as baby monitors are there kind of important so i thought you two needed one. Especially because i know my son and he is a heavy sleeper" Alexs mom said

"Yes this is perfect!. Thank you!. And i love the book and the tutu!, tutus are the best" i said

The rest of the gift opening was fun, i got so much cute stuff and stuff we needed. The rest of the shower was so fun, i loved spending time with everyone that came. After the shower was over we put all the stuff in my car and i went home and Alex helped me bring everything inside the house.

"Finished!" he said once we finished taking all the presents inside and into the nursery

"Good" i said

"So was it super fun?" he asked

"Yes!. I got a gift that i think your gonna be in love with!" i said

"Where?" he asked looking at all the stuff

"This. Its from Nicole and Jack" i said handing him the box and he opened it and instantly started smiling

"Oh my fucking god!. This is amazing!" he said really happy

"Its awesome right?!" i asked

"Yes!" he siad

"Now our little baby can be just like her daddy" i said

"Oh my god this is gonna be so cute on her!. Shes never gonna take it off" he said

"Shes not gonna be like you. Constantly wearing the damn thing" i said

"Yes she will" he said

"I looked at the size, she cant wear it until like 3 months. Well she can but like its gonna be big on her little head for a while" i said

"Thats perfectly fine with me!" he said and i punched his arm and he laughed
