I Can't Believe How Bad You Got Me

My Sleepyhead

After spending a couple days in the hospital, we finally got to bring our baby home. I was so glad that the outdoor season had ended too because Ryan and I just got to spend time with Jackson. We had all talked about either going to Minnesota or the Dungeys coming here to see the newest little Dungey. Blake of course was excited to see his namesake too. I had just woken up and when I rolled over and saw I had slept until almost noon.

“Hey, there’s my sleepyhead,” I heard Ryan’s voice coo.

I pushed some hair out of my face to see his hunky frame walking over with our baby boy tucked in his arms. Ryan lowered himself onto the bed and pressed little kisses all over my face, before eventually making his way to my lips.

“I’m sorry I slept so late,” I apologized to him.

“Don’t be sorry Kirstie, you’ve been through a lot this week,” He smiled at me, tucking a kiss by my ear and trailed a few along my neck, making a shiver run down my spine.

I just snuggled up to my husband before taking Jackson in my arms. He let out a little coo as I kissed his soft chubby cheek. Jackson’s bright blue eyes shined up at me and I couldn’t help but just melt from my seeing this adorable little bundle.

We had a cute little family moment before I got up to get dressed and we had lunch together. I insisted on cleaning up the kitchen, to Ryan’s protest, but I convinced him and he bopped Jackson around the kitchen as I cleaned up. Soon Jackson’s little eyes started to get heavy and Ryan took his out to the couch. When I had finished I walked out to see Ryan sitting there with Jackson tucked up on his chest as his daddy held him tightly. Our baby boy was fast asleep but as my eyes traveled up to Ryan’s face, I saw his mouth hanging slightly open as his eyes were resting closed. Aw, both my boys are tired. I tried to take Jackson from Ryan’s arms, but the second I did, Ryan’s grasp tightened.

“Ry, I’ll take him,” I whispered, kissing his forehead.

“No,” He groggily whined and snuggled Jackson closer. “I want to hold him.”

I nodded and gently laid Ryan’s hunky frame back on the couch. He put his head on the pillow and cuddled his little twin. I covered the two of them with a warm blanket and pressed a kiss to each of their foreheads. Once I did so, I heard a knock on the door.

“Hey guys,” I greeted the Weimers when I saw them.

They nodded before walking in and we shared hugs. I took Riley and gave her lots of little kisses before putting her down. When I did, she started crawling like crazy and we followed her into the living room. She got to the couch and pulled herself up, tugging on her sleeping Uncle Ryan. His blue eyes flickered open and groggily smiled at his niece. He moved Jackson over on his chest so he could hold Riley in his arms as well.

“Aw, isn’t that so cute?” I cooed.

“Only cute because Jackson is named after me,” Jake chuckled.

“Blake is going to be annoyed that his first name isn’t Blake,” Ky snickered.

“He better be satisfied Jackson’s middle name is Blake,” I giggled.

“Well when we have more babies, we can have a girl and name her after Kylee,” Ryan spoke up, smiling at his sister.

“What about Jade?” Jake brought up.

Ryan looked over at me and said, “I guess we’ll just have to have another boy too.”

“I’m good with that,” I smiled, going over to lay on the couch with Ryan so I could give our baby boy and our niece kisses. When I looked up at my husband though, I couldn’t help but give his plump lips a soft kiss too.

I absolutely adore my little Dungey family. Ryan is such an amazing man and I can’t believe that I get to spend the rest of my life with him and now we have this beautiful baby boy. I love the Weimers too though and I just couldn’t ask for a better family.
