I Can't Believe How Bad You Got Me

We Don't Have a Bromance!

“Babe, what are you doing?” Jake asked as he came into Riley’s room where I currently was.

“Trying to part with things,” I huffed as he walked in.

He came closer with Leland curled up in his arms, about to fall asleep. When I came up here, Logan and Lucas were already sleeping. Riley must be down there with them, being an awesome big sister.

“What things?” he questioned.

“I thought since, Ryan and Kirstie are having a girl, we’d part with Riley’s newborn clothes,” I told him.

“Aw, that’s sweet,” he smiled.

“But I don’t want it be like, hey, take the crap we don’t want,” I huffed.

“They won’t,” he chuckled.

“I think it’s cute that they’re having a little girl,” I put a smile.

“Makes me remember when we first found out we were having Riley,” he beamed and coiled an arm around my shoulders, pulling me into him.

“You were so excited,” I glanced up at him only to see his eyes sparkling back at me.

“I love her… and these amazing little dudes,” he smiled down at Leland only to bring him up to kiss his forehead gently. “And their beautiful mother,” he added and gave my lips a soft, slow kiss.

“Love you,” I replied once we parted.

“I was thinking about… doing something for Kirstie and Ryan once the baby came,” he changed subjects.

“And that would be?” he sparked my interest. It seemed so sweet. Jake wants to do something for them. Aw!

“Have like… a welcome home party for them and invite your family,” he explained.

“Aw! Blake and Jade haven’t seen the boys yet either. That’s perfect,” I couldn’t help but grin.

“I just didn’t know if it would be too much with her coming home from the hospital so soon,” he shrugged.

“She will be waited on hand and foot if everyone comes,” I couldn’t help but giggle.

“Well, ok then,” he chuckled.

“You’re a good big bro-in law,” I couldn’t let it go and squeezed his middle.

“Kirstie’s just…” he started.

“You love her,” my smile came back over me.

“She’s a good girl and I’m so glad she’s found Ryan,” he countered.

“Aw!” I cooed loudly.

“Yeah, well… I need to do something to get back on Ryan’s good side too, so…” he trailed off.

“Ryan’s just a butthead,” I muttered.

“He cares so much about you,” he managed to laugh.

“He’s the typical over protective brother,” I huffed.

“It’s… kind of sweet,” he replied.

“You didn’t say that when we first got together,” I had to poke.

“Well… That was different!” he laughed once more.

“I’m proud of you for changing your program. I’m sure Ryan will come back around… and your little bromance will rekindle,” I assured him before kissing his cheek and starting to leave the room.

“We don’t have a bromance!” he called after me.

“Sure you don’t!” I giggled, leaving it at that.

When I got down to the first level, I found Riley curled up on the couch in her blankie. It made me smile, thinking of how Jake tucked her in before he came upstairs to see what I was doing. I was so happy that he’s working out at home now and riding a bit more here too. He still takes a few days out of the week to test and ride with his team. But overall, he’s doing such a great job. I knew he would… it just took some time and now everyone is happy once again… expect his and Ryan’s bromance…
