I Can't Believe How Bad You Got Me

So Sweet

I woke up this morning… and felt horrible! I don’t know what was wrong. Was it… the flu? A cold? Just an off day? Did Jake give me something from all of his loving kisses? That couldn’t be it… So, I planted myself on the couch!

“What’s wrong with you?” Ryan asked once he walked in with his coffee mug in hand.

“I don’t feel well,” I pouted.

“Aw, poor Ky,” he cooed at me.

“Shut up,” I grumbled and pulled my blanket tighter around me.

“Where’s your man? Shouldn’t he take care of you when you’re sick?” he asked and sat in a chair.

“I don’t know,” I groaned. Now that he’s mentioned it, I wanted him here!

“Well, that sucks,” he chuckled and got back up… and left me alone!

I liked it… but then I got bored. I didn’t feel any better though, so I stayed put. In only a few more minutes, Ryan came back in… and put my phone on the table. What?!

“Why did you have my phone?” I asked him, narrowing my gaze towards him.

“No reason,” he smiled.

“Ryan!”

“I gotta go. You feel better, sis,” he said and hurried out the back.

I groaned once more even though he didn’t hear it. The quiet was nice, but I didn’t want to be left alone! Stupid Ryan! I guess… maybe I’ll call Jake… or maybe Kirstie? Before I could reach out for my phone, there was a knock on the door. I didn’t want to get up, so I shouted for them to come in. I looked over towards the door to… see my gorgeous boyfriend stepping in. He had a few things in his arms too. Um…

“What is… this?” I asked as he drew nearer.

“Ryan told me you were sick. Hopefully, these things make it better,” he smiled… and put a small bouquet of flowers on the table. Aw!

“You’re so sweet,” I couldn’t help but smile.

“And some entertainment,” he went on, showing off a box set of my favorite TV.

“Aw, Jake!” it was just getting better!

“Ryan didn’t tell me what kind of sick you were so, I brought you chicken noodle soup anyway,” he added and put the container down on the table as well, emptying his arms.

“Thank you,” I beamed.

“AND!” he kept going, “I got these, but I don’t know what to do with them,” he finished while spreading his arms apart.

“Oh, I’m sure we’ll find some use for them,” I couldn’t help but smile more and more.

Before he joined me on the couch, he put the first disc into the DVD player. He wedged himself between the back of the couch and my back. His arms came around me tightly, bringing this warmth over me. I knew the TV was playing, but that didn’t stop me from rolling over and nuzzling up into his chest.

“You’re the greatest,” I sighed and felt my eyes get heavy.

“You’re better though,” he replied and rubbed his nose against mine so cutely.

“Stop it,” I giggled.

“I think someone’s feeling better…” he snickered.

“I do,” I couldn’t hide it.

“I don’t even need to go to med school to be a doctor!” he chuckled.

“You can always be my doctor,” I told him, letting my smile take over.

His adorable little laugh filled my ears before I felt his lips gently press against my forehead. But I did feel better the second I saw him walk through the door. It was sweet of him to come… and it was even sweeter that Ryan was the one to call him over to take care of me. Whether they want to admit it or not, I think they’re starting to like each other… and it makes me so happy.
