Roomies

-Fast forward a few weeks-

Today i was driving home for the weekend, and im bringing Alex home with me. I ran the idea past Alex a few days ago and he said he'd love to visit my home town and then i asked my parents and they were fine with it. Me and Alex were on the highway about 30 minutes from my home and Alex started questioning me about everything.

"So. Where the hell do you think i'll be sleeping?" he asked

"Well im guessing the guest room" i said

"Oh. Okay cool" he said

"Mhm" i said

"And their really okay with me coming home with you?, i'd hate to be a burden" he said

"Your not!. They absolutely wanna have you visit, the entire family is eager to see the man im dorming with apparently" i said

"Oh god" he said

"Yep!" i giggled

"I hope they like me. The rest of the family i mean, because your mom, dad and brother seem cool" he said

"They'll adore you" i said

"Good" he said smiling

We continued driving for a while longer and eventually got to my home town. It was fun driving around pointing out things to Alex and explaining them to him, he seemed very intrigued. We got to my house and went straight inside and my cat muffins greeted us near the door.

"My baby!. Oh i missed you!" i said dropping everything to pick up muffins

"You have a cat" Alex laughed eyeing me

"Mhm. Your not a cat person i guess?" i asked

"No!. Ive never had a cat before ive always had dogs. You just dont seem like the cat type" he said

"Well i am. Im a cat lady" i said

"I see that" he said

"Wanna hold him?" i asked

"Nope" he said backing up a bit

"Why not, hes friendly!" i said

"Cats hate me. All of them. Plus im kinda allergic" he said

"Oh" i said putting muffins down and he hissed at Alex before running off

"See!. Hates me" he said

"Wow, cats do hate you" i said

"Lila, Alex!" my mom said coming in the room and hugging me and then Alex

"Hey. Im so happy to finally be home" i said

"Were glad your back for a few days, glad you came as well Alex" she said

"Im glad i came to. Thank you for letting me stay" he said

"Its our pleasure, now come into the other room. Your dad and brother are waiting and more family should arrive soon" my mom said

"Alright" i said picking up my bag

We followed my mom and sat and talked to my dad and brother for a while. I could tell Alex was nervous and i didnt blame him, my dad has a intimidating look to him. After talking for a while my mom and me gave Alex the grand tour and then took him to the guest room.

"So this is where you'll be staying Alex. I hope its okay" my mom said

"Its perfect, thanks" Alex said. The room was a light grey color and the queen bed had yellow bedding and there was a dresser with a tv on it

"Okay good. I'll leave you two to get settled and Lila you can show him your room and whatever. I'll call you guys down when everyone arrives" she said and we nodded and she left

"Okay so shall i show you my room?" i asked as he set his bag on the floor of the room

"Absolutely, i cant wait to see your embarrassing photos and whatnot" he grinned and smacked his arm and led him down the hall to a door a few doors down and flung the door open

"This is my lovely room" i said throwing my bag on my bed

"Wow" he said, my room had teal walls and i had a queen sized bed as well and it had mint green bedding. I had a tv and a desk and all the other typical room stuff. I didnt pack up to much from my room to take to school

"You like?" i asked

"Yeah its really nice" he said

"Mhm. And look at what i have" i said leading him into my private bathroom

"Oh sweet, ive always wanted my own bathroom" he said

"Yeah. My mom takes business trips so it would usually be just me and my dad and brother so we all agreed that i should get this room. Because its kinda shitty being the only girl home and sharing a bathroom with nasty men" i said

"Seems reasonable" he said

"Yep" i said

"Would i be allowed to pee in here or is there a strict no boy policy?" he asked

"Yeah you can, your neater then my brother so i trust you" i said

"Alright sweet" he said and i felt the bathroom shutting the door behind me

After he came out of the bathroom we looked through some of my photo albums i left behind. He found the pictures of me from 7th grade hilarious, i was a awkward looking child during puberty. A little while later my mom called us down and my grandparents were over.

"Hi" i said and they hugged me

"Its so good to see you after so long!, how's school?" my grandma asked me

"Fine" i said

"And this must be your roommate" she said

"Yep, this is Alex" i said

"Hello" Alex said

"Hello!. Were Lilas grandparents but you can call us Mary and Kyle" my grandparents said and Alex nodded

"LILA!!!!!!!" i heard my cousin Kim scream and then she tackled me into a hug

"Hey!" i said

"Ive missed you!" she said

"Ive missed you more!" i said

"Good. This must be Alex, hey im Kim im Lilas favorite cousin" Kim said to Alex

"Hi" he said

"So ive been craving ice cream for like five days. Wanna go get some?" she asked us

"Sure. Wanna go Alex?" i asked him

"Sure" he said

"Lets go kids. Parents were leaving!" Kim said and we all left to get ice cream

We left to go get ice cream and the drive was so fun, Kim is like a ray of sunshine shes always so happy and crazy. Along the way Kim was telling Alex all these crazy stories. When we finally got to the ice cream place we ordered our ice cream and then sat down at a table.

"Best ice cream of all time" i said

"Mhmm. So Alex, enjoying our little town?" Kim asked him

"Yeah its...cute" he said and she laughed

"It is, people know eachother very well here" she said

"Am i the odd one out. Knowing like only a group of people?" he asked

"Pretty much" she said and we all laughed

"So Kim. You need to sleepover tonight!, were gonna have a blast. Plus i miss hanging with your crazy ass" i said

"Totally" she said

"So...who is that?" Alex asked

"Who?" i asked turning in the direction he was pointing in

"Her. Shes kinda giving you a evil look but then giving me like a creepy flirty look" he said and i noticed who he was talking about

"Ughh, thats just Ebony. She was like the school slut, very popular and basically slept with the entire football team. She thinks she can get anyone but just ignore her shes a complete bitch" i said

"I see" he said and Ebony walked over to us

"Hello Lila, Kim" Ebony said snotty

"Kill me now" Kim said rolling her eyes and pulling out her phone

"Who's this cutie?" Ebony asked me

"Give it up hes not gonna fuck you" Kim said and Alex laughed

"Im Alex, Lilas roommate in college" Alex said

"Roommate, im sorry you got stuck with her" Ebony said

"No im actually happy we were paired together shes awesome" Alex said

"Well how would you like to hangout with someone even more awesome?" Ebony said

"No thank you" Alex said turning back to our table

"Whatever" she said rolling her eyes and she walked away

"Shes such a hoe" Kim said and i nodded

Later that night after dinner ended and everyone left, the three of us decided to camp out in my bedroom. Kim was filling me in on all the gossip about everyone we went to high school with and Alex seemed extremely amused. After a while she pulled out my case where i keep my nail polishes.

"Holy fuck!, how many of these do you have?" Alex asked me, i have lots since im obsessed

"To many to count" i said

"Hey Alex, whats your last name?" Kim asked him

"Why?" Alex asked

"Ehh just curious" she said

"Gaskarth" he said

"Not what i was expecting at all" she said

"Seriously?" he laughed

"Yes!. Thats so..weird...in a good way. I thought it'd be like something stupid or italian" she said

"I like it" he said

"Same. Trade?, or maybe your mom can adopt me and i can take the name!" she said and he laughed

"Mmm yep. Mom totally wants a grown woman as a daughter. Mhmm" he said sarcastic

"Your so sarcastic...i like it. You'll fit in great around here" she said

"Totally" i said

"Alright hand over your foot Gaskarth" Kim said

"Okay?" Alex said and put his foot near her

"Favorite color?" she asked as she bent his knee so his foot was flat on the floor

"Uhmm...blue...why?" he asked

"You'll see" she said and subtly took out a baby blue nail polish and painted his toe nail

"Aww fuck" he groaned

"It looks lovely" she said

"Ughh, your lucky im used to this. My best friends sister used to paint my toe nails. Must be a weird girl thing" he said

"It totally is" she said

"Mmm i bet" he said and i laughed and shook my head at them
