Becoming Self

Life for 17 year old Sylvester "Sylvie" Colette Northman couldn't have been any better as far as he was concerned. He had a solid 3.95 GPA in school, a smoking hot best friend that he's been trying his best to get into bed, and a college boyfriend with buns of steel you could bounce an half dollar off. Yes life in San Francisco in perfect for Sylvie.

Then, one day he walks into his father's office and finds him dead. Next thing he knows his eccentric mother, the infamous writer turned English professor Esme Northman, whisks him off halfway across the country to the sleepy little hamlet of Angel's Slumber, North Carolina, where she's suddenly decided to take a job as writer in Residence.

Things turn out to be anything but sleepy in Angel's Slumber. The first night Sylvie wakes to find a boy in a dress crying his eyes out and hiding in his closet. And then there's his neighbor John Wayne Endicott, whom Sylvie just might be falling for. That is, if he can get JW to open up and heal the scars of his past.
