In Too Deep

Chapter 10

"Dad?" Vic looked at the man at the door. This was Kellin's dad? They didn't look anything alike. His father had brown slicked back hair and green eyes. He looked absolutely livid.
"What th fuck are you doing?!"
"Dad it's not what it looks like!" Vic jumped up to stand next to Kellin. Mr. Bostwick came in front of his son and was looking down on him.
"It looks like my son is a faggot! I didn't raise you to get fuck in the ass! I can't be-"
"It was my fault, sir." Kellin looked at Vic. What the hell was this boy thinking? "His girlfriend left and I sort of seduced him. He was just horny." Kellin was pushed out of the way by his father. The older man was now towering over Vic. But instead of cowering away, the younger boy stood his ground and only had fear in his eyes.
"You do look like a girl." He circled Vic like a vulture. Then before anyone could stop Mr. Bostwick, he back handed the shorter boy across the cheek. Kellin watched as his boyfriend tumbled to the ground, gripping his cheek. "I bet you take everything like a girl too. You're pathetic!" He wanted to beat the living day lights out of his father but the way Vic was looking at him said to not intervene.
"At least I'm man enough to stay with my family!" Vic received a punch to the gut. It felt like fire just erupted in his stomach. As long as Kellin didn't get hurt though, he could deal. He felt his arm lift from his body.
"Is that why you have these little chicken scratches?" Mr. Bostwick dug his finger nails into the little bumps causing blood to ooze out. Kellin ran forward and threw his father away from the teen. He looked back. Vic was laying on the ground, clutching his arm to his chest.
"What the hell dad?! You can't just do this to people. Get out of my room!" He motioned towards the door. His father glanced at Vic as he turned towards the door.
"Do everyone a favor and kill yourself." He slammed the door shut. Kellin knelt down in front of Vic as he heard sobs rack his body. He started mumbling thing incoherently and the only word Kellin could make out was home.
"Come on sweetheart, let's get you into your room." Kellin pulled the tan boy into his arms bridal style. It was very difficult to maneuver through the windows and between the houses with someone in his arms, ecspecially when Vic wasn't holding on to his neck. Finally Kellin made it into Vic's bedroom and he lightly place him on the bed. "I'm going to get something to wrap your arm okay?" The other boy merely nodded. Kellin made his way into Vic's bathroom and grabbed a big bandage, a hand towel, and some sort of disinfectant. When he came back in Vic was curled up in a ball with his injured arm sticking out. He sat at Vic's side, putting the towel under his arm.
"Is he always like that?" Kellin shook his head. He unscrewed the cap to the disinfectant and started to pour a little bit. In all honesty, Kellin had only been hit by his father once and it was for talking back. He heard a sharp intake of breath as he looked at Vic.
"Why did you do that?" Kellin looked into those deep brown eyes. When they were around each other he alway noted a different gleam that came into them. He had yet to put his finger on what it was though. Vic shrugged as he reached for the bandage. Kellin finished his arm and sat there waiting for a reply.
"I didn't want you to get hurt."
"What?" Kellin felt his breathing stop.
"You heard me. I thought-" Vic's words were stop by Kellin crushing their lips together. In Vic's opinion this kiss was different than the rest. This one was slow and had more of a passion behind it. Kellin pulled away, looking at the boy in front of him.
"You're stupid." He whispered before giving another short kiss. "But I think that's why I'm falling in love with you." Vic shot straight up from his laying position in the bed. He started frantically shaking his head back and forth. This was impossible. No one was meant to love him. He was an abomination. A stain on the otherwise clean planet.
"Don't say that word." He looked up at the pale boy. He looked.... Hurt? Yes hurt. Like someone killed his puppy. That look one his face, that was Vic's fault.
"What word?"
"Love." Kellin cupped Vic's cheek. He noticed the little wince. He applied more pressure and noted the look of hurt from Vic's face disappear. His hand were cold.
"What's wrong with the word love?" Vic was avoiding making eye contact.
"There's nothing wrong with the word love. I believe in it but just not for myself. No one could love me."
"Who told you that?" Vic gave a small humorless laugh.
"You really don't listen to what people say, do you?" Kellin shook his head, situating himself to lay next to Vic. He took the tan boy's arm and started to rub the bandage lightly.
"I don't listen to gossip. I believe I have to find out my out judgement of a person." Kellin made it so the tips of their noses were touching. He closed his eyes as he continued to bring his hand back and forth on Vic's forearm. "And I believe you deserve to be loved. Maybe not by me if we are speaking about forever. But someone one will love you. Right now it just happens to be me. Sorry." Vic let out a soft laugh. He felt the pain slightly in his wrist. They were sitting there for awhile. The only sound that was going through the room was Vic's family downstairs and Kellin humming lightly.
"I'm sorry." Vic whispered. It sounded so loud in his room.
"What are you sorry for?"
"I enjoyed it." Vic sound as if he was going to start crying again. Kellin racked his brain trying to figure out what Vic could have possibly enjoy. If he was talking about before his dad walked in then he shouldn't be apologizing because Kellin was enjoy himself too. He started running his free hand through Vic's hair while the other was still on his arm.
"What are you talking about?" He pulled Vic so he was using his upper arm as a pillow. The tan male burrowed himself in the crook of Kellin's neck.
"When your dad opened up my arm, it just gave me that old rush. I couldn't help but enjoy it. But then I realized that I sort of went back on my promise." He moved his hands so they were place firmly on his chest.
"You didn't break any promise Vic. It's not your fault my dad is a dick. If anything it should be my fault. I should have been more careful."
"It's not your fault. I could never blame for anything bad." Kellin looked at the boy in front of him.
"I love you Vic." Vic tensed. When he wanted to say love he wanted to mean it. It would take longer for him to get close to letting that word spill from his mouth with meaning. "You don't have to say it back. Just say something that reassures me that you have some sort of feelings for me."
"I like you Kels." Kellin gave a light laugh that vibrated through his body. Vic relaxed into the feeling.
"Good enough."
