Sequel: True Confessions

Lies 1-50

The Stranger Who Isn't So Strange After All.

The club was pounding a headache into my brain. The band was just some whiny boys who had some decent guitar solos up their sleeves, but they were no better than that. I was glad to get out of that.

"Noah!" I was shocked because Noah was waiting outside for me. After that array of high pitched squeals, he was very welcome into my beating head. "What are you doing here?"

"Do you want to go for a ride?" He kept his eyes low and barely ever let them move. They were cemented into place, and the cement was getting drier by the second.

"Uh... Sure."

We hopped into his little car and sped off down the road. We reached a secluded beach after quite a long ride and he finally spoke again. "You know, I sort of felt this connection with you when we first met. I was wondering if you... maybe... do you like the stars?"

Was he trying to ask me out? I was almost positive he was, but then again I thought the same thing about... No I didn't. He was different. He smiled and played all coy with me. I missed that about him.

"Yes. They're very shiny."

"Let's go look at them."

We hopped out of the car and walked on the beach slowly. "I love the water," I said as it was washing over my feet.

"Me too," he mumbled back and let his green eyes catch ahold of my brown ones.

I smiled shyly and moved closer to him. He pushed his fingers on mine for a second and we roped our fingers together.

"Charlotte?" he asked, his voice soft against the wave.

"Yeah?" My heart started pounding, my breath began to pick up speed.

"...Do you..." he trailed off.

"Do I what?"

"Do you maybe... want to go out or something?"

"Yes, I'd love it, and I have to tell you...you're so adorable." I started to laugh a little and he got all offensive.

"What? Why would you say that?"

"You're just so... so much like a school boy. I think that's adorable."

"Oh..." he let his head fall down again like his feet looked so interesting all of a sudden.

I smiled and squeezed his fingers gently. "See? Just like that. Are you afraid of me or something?"

"No, I'm just shy."

"I'm shy too, but not around you. Don't be shy around me."

"I'll try."

"You know what Noah? I'm glad we get to talk alone. I've been meaning to ask you something..."

"What?"

"How do you get your hair to look so perfect?"

He smiled and his eyes glittered in the moon light. It was beautiful.

"I wash it twice a day."

"Oh, well that makes perfect sense. I now feel like I know you very well because I have your hair secret."

"Give me one of your secrets, then I'll know you very well."

"I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder."

"Oh really? Now I'm not dating a stranger." He laughed along with the rumble of the water we were walking next to.

"Neither am I." I laughed along too.
