Chapter Ten
There I was minding my own business when I heard a knock at my door, of course me being the only one home besides Adrianne I open the door. Thinking that it was going to be Casey, but no I was way off on that assumption; unless Casey grew and was turned into a man with tattoos all over his body. I tuck a strand of hair behind my ear, I didn't want Matt to know about Adrianne just yet. I wanted to wait till the right time to tell him, I didn't want him to feel tied down or something stupid like that.
Matt knelled so he was Adrianne's height and smiled softly at her, he held out his much larger hand to her. Adrianne looked up at me and then at Matt, she didn't know what to do so she placed her hand against his. Matt flashed her a charming smile and kissed her small hand softly looking into her hazel eyes.
“What's your name?” he asked my daughter softly. She giggled and hid her face in my leg I look down at her and then at Matt and Jimmy, I didn't really know Jimmy that well and from what Matt tells me about him he seems pretty crazy.
“Go on babe girl tell him your name..” I told her softly looking at Matt I saw the sweet smile on his face as well as Jimmy.
“Adainne...” Adrianne told Matt softly.
“Adrianne Rae Taylor...” I told them both. Matt looked at Jimmy and smiled at Adrianne softly, he then stood up and stuck his hands in his pants pockets.
“When were you going to tell me that you were a teenage mother?”
Jimmy walked over to Adrianne and took a seat on the stairs and I noticed that little Adrianne walked over and took the empty spot next to him and was looking up at Jimmy. I couldn't help but smile as I saw Adrianne gaze up at Jimmy with the looked of awe on her face. Jimmy smiled and poked her nose, she giggled and took a hold of his finger with her small hand; Matt watched out of the corner of his eye as Jimmy played with Adrianne.
“You make it seem like it's a bad thing..” I told him softly.
“It's shocking thats all.” Matt told me as he ran his fingers through his hair. “I mean..I never dated anyone with a kid before.” he told me honestly.
“Well I'm sorry I didn't want to tell you just yet,”
“Why didn't you tell me though?” He asked.
“Because! I didn't want you to feel like you had to stay around, Adrianne is my life and I don't want you to feel like you are obligated to be with us” I sighed. “I really am sorry Matt...but I don't want to be taken advantage of thats all.” I told him honestly. Jimmy looked up at me, his ice blue eyes sent chills up my spine. Matt looked at Adrianne once more and then looked at me, there was so many emotions written on his face he looked like a chalk board.
I don't think he understands the impact that this is on a teen. I don't have a normal teen age life like the other teens out there. I have to go to school full time and raise her, yes my father does help but he has to raise me as well.
“Loren I want you to be honest with me alright? Were you planning on telling me before prom that you are a mother?” he asked me his voice with stern yet it was sweet I had to admit that. I swallowed and shock my head no.
“I wanted to tell you after...I didn't want to ruin you dance.” I told him and I notice the Jimmy was bouncing Adrianne on his knee, she was trying to talk and he voice was all shaky it was the cutest thing I have seen her do in a long time.
“Telling me that you have a kid won't ruin the dace.”
“I didn't want you to know...I thought that you wouldn't like me.” I told him as I hear Adrianne giggled loudly.
“Jimmy stop it!” she laughed. Jimmy couldn't help but tickle her a few more times.
“You having a child Loren won't make like you less or even more, if it make me do anything that is to have a higher respect for you. But I'm not sure if that is still there because you kept this from me.” He told me honestly, that man sure knows how to pull a guilt trip on you thats for sure. Then I see Adrianne take a hold of Matt's pant leg and look at me.
“What baby girl?” I asked her softly.
“Mama...did we win the game?” she asked me as she looked up at Matt who had his arms crossed across his chest.
“What do you mean sweet heart?” I asked her not understanding what she was saying.
“Did we find daddy?” she asked as she leaned her head against Matt's' leg. Oh god...I wish it was that easy baby girl but it's not. And I think that little girls gift just to make it perfectly clear is putting people on the spot with difficult questions.
“Game?” Matt asked.
“Adrianne go inside please...” I asked her with a shaky tone in my voice. Adrianne sighed and let go of Matt's pant leg and walked into the house and took a seat on the couch and continued to watch the show that she was watching before she was interrupted.
“I'm... sorry Matt.” I told him as my face was flushed bright red, almost like a red red rose.
