In The Name Of

Chapter Fourteen

I was sitting on my bed I was flipping through the photo album that Casey made me. All of the memories started to flood back to me, there were pictures of me eating ice cream while I was pregnant and a few others. Then there was one of Adrianne and I when she was just a new born, she looked so perfect hell in my eyes she was perfect. She was healthy she was a really happy baby, even though it was just her and I. It still didn’t comprehend that Matt and I got in that fight, even though I new that I had a right to keep it to my self.

I look at the foot of my bed and see that Adrianne is still coloring in her coloring book, she smiled and tried to stay in the lines.

“Are you hungry baby girl?” I asked her as I poked her butt.

“My butt!” she giggled and looked at me as she sent her crayon down. I couldn’t help but laugh as I pick her up and kiss her cheeks softly. She giggled and took a hold of my fingers and looked up at me, she smiled and then there came a knock at the door.

“I’ll get it!” My father called.

“Loren! You have a visitor,” he called to me. I sighed and walked down the stairs hearing little feet follow behind me I stopped suddenly on the stairs to see Matt. Adrianne waved and walked down the stairs the rest of the way till she got to my dad.

“Ampa I hungry,” she said sweetly.

“Alright follow me,” he smiled and took her small hand and walked into the kitchen to make her something to eat. He then left me with Matt, I crossed my arms over my chest and looked at him I was still pissed at him.

“Can I help you?”

He nodded and took off his sun glasses and hung them off of his shirt. He looked at me and sighed softly, I could tell that he really wanted to talk with me.

“I want to talk with you,”

“And?”

“I...want to apologize for this afternoon at the beach. Your past is the past all that should matter is what is going on right here right now,” he told me. I walked down the rest of the stairs and looked at him, I could see the tattoos through the thin material of his white tank top.

“I see,”

“And I realized that I was wrong to force you to talk about your past, and I just want to know that your not pissed at me. And I completely understand if you still are mad at me but I just wanted to try and make things right between us.”

I have to say I do admire Matts persistence to make things right between us, he looked at me I saw all honesty in his face. With a sigh and wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him softly, this is the first time I really kissed Matt on the lips. I never kissed anyone with a lip ring before, it was exciting to tell the truth, he wrapped his strong tattooed arms around my small waist and kissed me once more.

“I forgive you,” I smiled at him.

“So...will you still go to prom with me?” he asked softly.

“I was planning on going to prom with you any ways, just because we had a fight doesn’t mean I’m going to ditch you on the last dance of your senior year.” I kissed him once more this time I tugged at his lip ring. “I’m not that much of a bitch,”

Matt laughed and kissed me lightly, he was an amazing man and I’m happy that he’s mine. A few minutes had passed and I heard giggling from behind me, I turn my head to see Adrianne snickering.

“What are you doing little ninja?” Matt asked her with a smile.

“Watching mama and you,” she answered him softly. I couldn’t help but look into his eyes as he spoke with her, Matt maybe a tattooed beef cake and the type of person you don’t want to mess with. But when he is around little kids his eyes go soft and he changes, almost like he is a different person.

“Come here Adri,” I asked her softly. She ran over to me and tackled my leg, rubbing her nose on it like normal I let out a playful sigh.

“Did you wipe your nose on me again?” I smiled.

“No!” she giggled.

“Then what did you do?”

“Scratched it mama, just scratched it.” she smiled and held her arms out to me. I laughed and scooped her up kissing her cheeks kissed her nose once. “Silly mama..” Adrianne smiled and leaned against Matt’s chest.

“Your mama is silly huh?” Matt asked as he looked down at Adrianne who was playing with the necklace around my neck. “She looks pretty silly to me too,” he smiled and kissed the top of her head.

Some days when I see Adrianne and Matt together I wished that Matt was Adrianne’s real father, maybe he would give her the love she deserves. It’s hard trying to give her the love that a mother gives a child and at the same time give her the love that the father would give.

“Can daddy stay for dinner mama?”

I looked at Matt I didn’t see his face change at all when he heard Adrianne call him daddy, that really made me smile. It seems to me that Matt is used to her calling him that, she’s only two she calls everyone daddy.

“If he wants to ask him girl babe,” I told her as I fix her hair clip.

“Do you?” she looked up at him.

Matt smiled and took her from me, he looked her in the eye and kissed her nose softly. She giggled and through her arms around his neck and hugged him the best she could.

“I have to go to a band practice, but maybe tomorrow we can go get some ice cream, but only if you behave for your mommy and auntie Casey,” he told her. Adrianne pouted and hugged him even closer I looked at her and saw her eyes start to fill with tears.

“Adrianne what’s the matter sweet heart?”

She sniffled. “I don’t wanna start over...” she cried. Matt looked a little confused and then looked at me. I was confused too, I rubbed her back and stroked her hair she buried her face in his neck.

“You don’t want to start over what?” Matt asked her softly.

“The game...”
