Survive the Storm

Cold.
All I could feel was coldness, my body was numb from laying in water.
I must've been unconscious for a long time.
I was drenched in freezing water from head to toe.
My soaked hair, froze my back, as it draped along my back.
Wait. I thought.
Where is everyone else?
I was alone in a lower hallway.
" Ella? " I heard a voice ask.
" Yes I'm here! Who's there? " I asked excitedly.
" Ella! " The voice shouted happily " I'm here it's Mrs. B! "
I became so happy she was there.
I ran father into the hallway to find her.
Soon I bumped into someone.
Not caring who it was I hugged the person.
" Oh Ella thank god u found u " It was Mrs. B, I kept myself pressed
against her.
" I'm so happy ur here " I cried as she stroked her fingers through my
hair, crying like me.

After a while of walking, I asked " Where is everyone else? "
" I really don't know after we found u unconscious a man came... And
we don't know what happened... We ran and got separated and I started
looking for u, I assume everyone is looking for each other "
I nodded processing it all in my head.
The whole time as we walked through the halls, Mrs. B had her arm
around my shoulders, and that made me feel so safe, up next to her.
Suddenly we ran into another person, " Aaaaahhhhhh! " we screamed.
Without warning, Mrs. B was yanked from my grasp.
I was pushed to the floor.
Within seconds I was alone again, sitting in a pool of water.
Wishing I could see my surroundings, I scanned where I was with my hands.
I got to a wall I heard crying, " Who's there? " I asked nervously.
No answer.
Just as the lightning flashed, I got the smallest glance as who this person was.
Kristine.
" Kris? " I asked knowing I needed another person.
" Ella? Yes it's Kris " She jumped up and hugged me.
I let her hug me and u hugged her back.
" I'm sorry I'm so sorry, I don't know what's been going on please
forgive me " She sobbed.
" Yes yes it's ok friends fight we'll never be perfect " I told her.
" I know.. It's just uh... " she continued to cry " I'm so sorry "
Clash! Something feel to the floor, just feet from us.
We both jumped, " Something's wrong... Someone is here with us that's
not suppose to be " I trembled.
" This isn't safe we have to get out of here " Kris grabbed my arm and we ran.

We must've called names and cried for an hour, before we sat down.
" This is hopeless were gonna die, everyone else is probably dead too" Kris sobbed.
" No! This isn't hopeless they can't be dead! " I snapped and cried.
The lightning flashed, letting us see each other for a second, I could
see fear on Kris's face, mine must look the same.
As the lightning flashed again, I glanced just past Kris.
I almost thought I saw a person.
Patiently I waited in silence for the lightning to flash again.
When it did I shot over to the area.
I screamed at the top of my lungs.
" No no no! No this isn't happening... Uh... Oh.... No!!! " My hands
scratched over my head.
Tears raced down my face.
I fell to my knees in horror, my heart racing my breathing.
Kris who was scared out of her mind by me freaking out, ran to my
side, my head rested in my hands.
" What happened? What is it? " She asked crying.
" It's Dani! Look! " I pointed.
As the lightning lit up the room, I looked over again, Dani lie in a
pool of water, her skin was as pail as a cloud, and her lifeless eyes
stared straight ahead of her.
I knew she must've died of hypothermia, and that weird sickness she
was getting, if she was dead but I was to scared to check.
We wouldn't of let her just lie there dead, someone else must've taken
her and then left her to die, so many questions buzzed in my head.
" We have to get out of here and find everyone else " I sobbed.
" What's going on I don't understand! " Kris shrieked.
I stood up knowing we had to find everyone before this mysterious intruder did.
" Mrs. B! "
" Mrs. Hans! "
" Ms, Payton! "
" Kia! Emma! Hailey! "
" Kendra! Nikki! Jane! Chloe! "
" Cory! Ryan! Megan! Josie! "
We yelled names for about 20 minutes before our voices became raspy.
" Ella! Kris! " we heard in the distance.
" Yes yes!!! " Both of us jumped and yelled.
The strange voice stopped yelling.
" Why did they stop? " I asked.
" I don't know but it was a boy's voice " Kris shuttered.
" Maybe it was Ryan or Cory " I suggested.
" I'm hoping so " Kris whined.
I felt across the walls hoping for some indication to where we were.
The flashlight on my phone! I thought instantly.
I took out my iPhone, it might not be able to get bars to call someone
but it does have a working flashlight.
I shined the flashlight to above the doors we were standing by.
Social Studies, it read.
Meaning we were on the lower level.
" Hey awesome idea! " Kris said running to me.
As we walked a couple more feet, I noticed something.
At first I thought it was just the reflection of the flashlight in the
window but no.
It was the reflection of a flashlight behind us.
I swung around.
The light disappeared.
" What is it? " Kris asked.
" I thought I saw the reflection of a flashlight behind us " I turned forward.
As soon as I turned forward there was the light again.
" What is that!!?!?!,! " Kris screamed pointing to the ground.
" Oh my god! No! " I cried and fell to the floor on my knees, praying to god.
" Help us help us please! This is just a dream please! No! It's a
nightmare and and I wanna wake up! " I screamed and sobbed.
