So Long and Good Night

The Fabulous Force of Queer

GERARD'S P.O.V

"Christ that food was shit." I sighed, throwing myself down onto the couch. I let one lag drape over the back while the other dangled off the seat.

"It wasn't that bad." Frankie insisted, moving my legs and sitting down next to me.

"Not bad? There was a fuckin' hair in my macaroni, what looked like a bone in my BONELESS chicken, and everything was too peppery." I half smiled as I pulled my upper half from the seat.

"What every you say, darling." he chuckled, patting my thigh.

"I like that."

"What?"

"Darling."

"Really? Well what other pet names do you like?"

"Oh, sweetie, sweetheart, baby, sugar, honey. Y'know, stuff like that." I smiled, resting my arm casually over one knee.

"Do you think you'll ever get a tat?" Frank asked, breaking the short silence.

"Not no, but HELL to the no."

"But whyyy?"

"I told you. I'm terrified of needles. Not to mention I hate them with a burning passion that only resides within the fiery depths of hell."

"Well then. Glad to know you're just a smiling ball of happy."

"Oh but I am. I like in a world where society shits on my sexual orientation, pukes on my hopes and dreams and ambitions, fucks my money, and eats everything happy."

"God you're adorable when you're pissed like that." Frank smirked, batting his eyelashes at me.

"I'm not really pissed...I'm just...frustrated. Irritated....Goddamn it I am pissed. I'm mean for Christ's sake society and piss up a fucking rope, suck on the wet end and see where that lands there happy fucking asses."

"Well back to the tats. I wanna go get one."

"Of what?"

"Well I want N J on the inside of my bottom lip, a scorpion on my neck, and 'Halloween' across my fingers. I also want a lip and nose ring." Frank smiled, watching my feature sport what I felt was horror.

"Jesus Christ. I would love to be there with you when you get that done, but I won't be able to watch that. I'll get freaked out just seeing all those needles." I said shaking my head. the thought of it even sent shivers up my spine.

"Well what if we go tomorrow then i'll take you out to lunch. We'll even go someplace fancy." he grinned, poking my arm.

"Fine, but you're paying completely. AND I get Starbucks."

"Of course. Anything for my princess."

"Pft, Princess? Sweetheart I've past being the princess and went straight to being the damn queen." I smirked, holding my hand out in an attempt to get Frankie to kiss it. He got the hint and took my hand gently in his. He was about to touch his lips to my knuckles when he stuck his tongue out and licked all the way up my hand.

"Goddamn it your gross." I giggled, wiping the back of my hand on his cheek. I rose from the couch and planted a slopping, tonguey kiss to his lips before walking to the bathroom.

"Where ya going?" he called after me.

"To take a shower. Wanna come?" I replied, poking my head out of the bathroom doorway.

"It that a legit offer?"

"You wish sweet cheeks." And with that i closed the wooden door and turned the water on.

FRANK'S P.O.V

Gerard had just gone into the bathroom and I saw the perfect chance to start putting my plans into action. I ran back to the bedroom and grabbed my laptop form the nightstand. I plopped myself down and turned it on.

Once it was up and running I pulled up the bookmark I had saved for weeks. It was for two plane tickets for Vegas next week Thursday.

I smiled slightly to myself and clicked the "buy now" button on the top right corner of the page. Right as the confirmation page was loading, Gerard walked in with nothing but a towel around his waist.

"Have you seen my razor?" He asked, looking over to the dresser.

"No. But why would it be in here?"

"Shit, I don't know. Just thinking abstractly." He chuckled before walking out of the room and back into the bathroom.

When I heard the lock click within inside door, I opened the top back up and clicked the green yes button in the middle oh my screen.

I had the flight booked. Now I just needed the next item for my plan. But I had to find time to get away from Gerard so I could get to the mall.

***

"Frankie are you sure you want to do this?" Gerard asked me as we got out of the car and walked across the parking lot. "I mean, you can never get these removed without an ugly scar."

"Don't worry Gee. I'm positive." I smiled, leaning in and planting a little reassuring peck to his cheek. He smiled slightly and grabbed the door holding it open for me.

We walked in and saw all the art hanging on the walls.

"Hey there. How may I help you?" A woman asked, walking up to us.

"Oh hi. I'm here to perminatly put ink and holes into my body." I smiled.

"Alright well any idea of what you want?"

"Yeah, I want NJ on the inside of my bottom lip, a scorpion on the right side of my neck, Halloween on my fingers and a lip and nose ring." I said.

"Well, that's a lot for your first time. You sure you want all that?"

"Oh yeah, I've wanted them since my 18th birthday."

"Alright well my name is Kate and I will be takin' care of that for you." the woman smiled, leading Gerard and I back to a smaller room to the side of the lobby.

"So what do you want to start with?" Kate asked, sitting my down in what looked like a dentist chair.

"I guess lets go for the piercings them the lip tat then neck then knuckles." I smiled. Gerard was sitting next to me being very quiet.

"You alright?" I asked, grabbing his hand gently.

"Wha-- oh yeah, I'm fine. Just a bit..freaked out I guess." he sighed, looking down at his lap.

"There's no need to be, the needles are going into MY body." I chuckled, leaning up and pecking him on the lips.

"Are you two like, a couple?" I heard Kate ask as she was readying the needles.

"Yeah. He's my lovely boyfriend." Gerard smiled, patting my arm.

"Alright well I hate to break it to ya, but you're not going to be able to have sloppy kissing because your lip is gonna be sore for a while Frank." she laughed, wheeling over and wiping my nose ad lip with a disinfecting wipe.

"You ready?"

"As I'll ever be."

And with that, there was a slight pinch followed by a minor burning on the right side of my nose. She reloaded the gun looking thing and pierced the left side of my lip.

"Alright the rings are in. Tat time." Kate smiled, rolling over and getting the machine ready.

She came back over within minutes.

"Okay, I'm going to need you to hold you lip out for me." she said, grabbing my bottom lip with a wipe and rubbing the inside. I took the flesh from her and held it out.

"Okay, this is going to hurt a bit more because the skin is so tender. Though shouldn't hurt more than it would if you were to accidentally bite it." the woman explained, going in with the needle and pulling it across my skin to form an N. She picked it up and pushed it back in to write the J.

"Alright, lets get to that scorpion there." She smiled.

"You alright Gee?" I asked, looking over to him. He looked like he was going to pass out/.

"Yeah. I-i'm...I'm fine." He faked the smile he shot my way.

"Why don't you go wait outside. You look like you're about to faint."

He was reluctant to go, but finally he complied after he nearly vomited when Kate stared to ink my neck.

***

"Wow. It all looks great!" I smiled, looking at everything in the full mirror on the wall next to me.

"Thanks." Kate smiled, standing behind me cleaning everything up. "You can go on out and I'll be there in a sec to ring ya up."

I complied at went out to the front desk and waited in one of the chairs.

"Alright Frank, what's your last name?" she asked, going up the computer.

"Iero. I-E-R-O." I said, walking up.

"Alright you're total comes to 325."

"Shit." I sighed, taking out my wallet and handing her my credit card. Once everything was sorted out she handed me a bottle of cleaner for my nose and lip and i was out the door. I looked to the bench to my right to see Gerard sitting there, a lit cigarette between his lips.

"I thought you didn't smoke?" I asked, sitting down next to him.

"I used to. Then I didn't. And now I do again. But I don't drink."

"What about all that liquor you bought for our date?"

"That champagne didn't have any alcohol. And I bought the rest without any intentions of drinking a drop. I was gonna send it all home with you." he smirked, taking a long drag and letting the smoke out in a sigh.

"Well ya got any more?"

He fished a box of Marlboro's and a lighter out of his pocket. He tossed them into my lap. I pulled a stick from the box and placed it between my lips, lighting it within seconds. I handed both back to him and he slipped them into his pocket.

"Hey, I have to go over to the mall to get a necklace for my little sister. She's graduating high school and I won't be able to get there so i'm going to mail it to her." I explained.

Gerard just nodded an okay and we both got up and walked up the street to the large mall in town.

"You can just wait out here if you want. The jeweler's is just right inside." I smiled. Gee smiled back and sat down on the bench just outside the doors.

I walked in and into the shop just to my right.

"Hello sir, how may I help you this morning?" a gentleman in a suit asked me from behind the counter asked.

"Hello. I'm looking to buy an engagement ring." I smiled, walking up and looking down through the glass.

GERARD'S P.O.V

"Rion! Rion!" I yelled, jogging up to meet her as she turned around.

"Hey Gerard!" she smiled, standing up from the ground. She ran up and hugged me. There was a girl standing behind which I assumed was her girlfriend.

"This is Lilly, my girlfriend." She smiled, gesturing to a girl who had a style quite like her own.

"Hello Lilly. I'm Gerard and this is my boyfriend Frankie." I smiled, shaking her hand.

"Hello Gerard, Frank." Lilly smiled. She seemed nervous or just shy. I couldn't tell.

"So Gerard. Where we headed first?" Rion asked, looking around for emphasis.

"Hmm. Well have you two eaten anything yet?" the both shock their heads no.

"Well, I know this really good place. And about now the karaoke should be starting....wait. How old are you girls>" I asked, turning to them.

"I'm 22 and Lilly in just 21."

"Okay good because this place is a bar." I chuckled, shooting them a mall warning before leading the way to Fifth Avenue tavern.
