It's Time to Rock the Dragon

Chapter fifteen

“So what organisation would this be?” Gohan asked, not bothering to beat around the bush.

“Well you see Gohan, it turns out not every person died in the Red Ribbon army. Although I was young, when I owned my millennium necklace it foresaw very small parts of what may happen. I saw a few Red Ribbon army members gathered somewhere, but had no clue what it meant. Our mother possessed the necklace whilst your father fought the Red Ribbon Army and filled me in on the details-“ Ishizu explained, but Gohan cut her off.

“What?! The Red Ribbon Army still exists? Does that mean they’re collecting the dragon balls AND the millennium items? We must contact my father! He’ll know what to do!” Gohan said, jumping up from his couch.

“Gohan you must trust me and listen to everything I am going to tell you. Believe me, right at this moment your father Goku, and his friendly adversary Vegeta alongside Piccolo have been called to Kami’s lookout to have this all explained to them.” Ishizu said loudly, in order to get Gohan’s attention.

He sat back down on the couch, but only sat at the edge. He had also narrowed his eyes at Ishizu.

“If you knew this was coming, why are we only being alerted now? Why weren’t the Z Warriors notified as soon as possible?” Gohan asked, anger clear in his voice.

“We had to make sure those with and protecting the millennium items knew first. It took a lot of time to prepare Shadi, the ultimate keeper for such events. Then we had to warn Yugi Moto and his friends, as well as the Pharaoh about the Red Ribbon Army and the consequences. We had to make sure the millennium items are protected. These people are a lot more capable of doing things then you’re giving them credit for, Gohan.” Marik said through gritted teeth.

It was now made obvious these two hadn’t taken a liking to each other.

I decided to speak up. I could understand where Gohan was coming from. It seemed him and his family and friends had unofficially becoming the earth’s protective forces from danger and intervened whenever there was trouble. He had never met Yugi and the gang and no idea what they’ve accomplished. He was just being protective, but he had to know that MY Special Forces team were competent and to be trusted.

“Gohan, I understand, really I do. But like your ‘Z warriors’ seem capable of protecting the earth from bad guys, the Pharaoh and his friends are capable of protecting their millennium items. If the Red Ribbon Army is going after the items first before the dragon balls, it makes sense to secure those items before you got called in for help to defend them. I trust them, so you should too.” I said to Gohan, looking him in the eye and saying my statement with sincerity.

Gohan dropped his angry look, and gave me a slight smile. He then wrapped his arms around my shoulder into him to show his affection.

“What the hell is wrong with you people? I’m still confused, I’m not sure what a dragon ball OR a millennium item is, and I’m waiting for you all to shut up so Ishizu can continue talking about this Red Ribbon Army. Aren’t you all curious as to why some members survived when Gohan stated they’re all dead?” Jess huffed, crossing her arms against her chest.

“That’s right! Please continue, Ishizu.” Gohan smiled.

Ishizu gave Gohan a look of worry to see whether he’d have another outburst or not, but after there was silence for a few moments she continued.

“It is true, your father managed to…finish off most of the Red Ribbon Army. However a few members got away. As you know, Dr. Gero wasn’t based in headquarters at that time and managed to survive. But there were a few more members that survived. Colonel Violet, Colonel Silver, General White and General Copper.” Ishizu explained.

“How did anybody survive? The ones that weren’t on headquarters were destroyed by my dad anyway.” Gohan asked.

“Colonel Silver was not finished off by your father, however he was meant to be executed for his failures. He calmly walked out from headquarters and managed to fight off any soldier who tried to restrain him. Your father’s friend Android 8 threw General White, and whilst he didn’t die he was left disabled. Colonel Violet was only in the army to exploit it for money, and managed to leave headquarters before it blew up. General Copper was on a mission and was also not blown up on headquarters.” Ishizu explained.

“So they are our enemies, huh?” Gohan asked Ishizu to confirm.

“All except Colonel Violet. Her heart was never in the army and she left it behind the day the explosion died. General Copper is in charge of any new operations, and it’s unknown White and Silver’s involvement but it is known that Silver and White wanted to prove their worthy to the organisation again.” Ishizu explained.

Gohan then wore a cocky smirk, something I’ve never seen him do before.

“I don’t know why you seem so worried, then. The Red Ribbon Army were easily defeated by my father alone when he was just a kid and was unaware of his Saiyan powers. Now we’ve got a whole team of powerful warriors behind us, we’ll do FINE! An organisation full of humans will be a walk in the park compared to Cell.” Gohan smirked.

“That’s true. But just make sure they don’t harness the powers. That’s the threat.” Marik mumbled.

“Okay so I think I get it now. Gohan’s team are a bunch of powerful fighters who have apparently protected the world from evil before, and um…Charlotte’s team are skilled at those duel monsters games that have done the same apparently? And Gohan’s team look after those dragon ball thingies, whilst Charlotte’s team look after the millennium items? And uh, the Red Ribbon Army are wanting to use both of those powers for their own evil purpose?” Jess asked, summing everything up.

“Correct.” Ishizu replied.

“We’re teams now.” I grinned to Gohan, who smiled back and squeezed my knee in affection.

“Alrighty. Either you guys are some weird ass role-players or you’re serious. Either way, I guess if I tag along on your adventures I’ll find out soon enough. The whole Cell thing wasn’t believable and look how that turned out. I guess I can believe everything now.” Jess weakly grinned.

I had a question I was itching to ask, but out of respect for Gohan and not wanting to look too eager about my ex, I didn’t. I was wondering if Kaiba somehow came into this picture and was destined to get involved. I’m guessing perhaps not, because this new Red Ribbon complication had nothing to do with the ancient past. It’s not like Kaiba possessed the rod NOW anyway, Yugi had it.

…Good. That means I wouldn’t be crossing paths with Kaiba again anytime soon. This stuff was already complicated enough without him getting involved.

“So what happens now?” Gohan asked curiously.

“The planned course of action is-“ Ishizu started, but she was interrupted.

In front of us unexpectedly Goku appeared. I seemed to be the only one who got a fright, as I threw my (now cold) coffee all over myself. Jess seemed to be amazed, her eyes went wide and she began studying Goku fiercely.

However, I became a bit worried. No matter how he just appeared out of nowhere, this was not just a friendly visit. Ishizu mentioned he had some meeting with somebody about this threat, just as we just had. His facial features were hard and serious, something Gohan had told me his father NEVER was.

No, he was here on official business, and we were about to find out the purpose of his visit.
